    ....... and another call again today, this time silent. It couldn't have been made any clearer in my previous contact with these idiots that they wouldn't get anywhere through calling me. So what makes them persist and not remove the contact details of obviously disinterested victims?

    I have received calls from the above number on three ocasions however in each case I was unable to aaanswer the phone and on redialling II was told that the number had not been recognised.On one occasion the number appeared as 0019432711557 aaagain on redialling I was told the number had not been recognised.

    Ive had 094327711557 ring me 3 times over the last two days. I answer the phone and there is no sound then the phone is put down. The number needs blocking by Offcom or who ever can do it.

    I've had about 30 call's from this number over the past 2 weeks, they never leave a message on answer phone, and don't speak if you pick up either, very annoying. Not quite so worried now I see a lot of people get same calls too.  We are on TPS this does'nt work for this number it seems - WHY NOT? Time something is done, what about poor disabled people who struggle to get to the phone in time to answer and it's these morons!

    PhonepayPlus is the organisation that regulates phone-paid services in the UK

    Obviously don't call the number back as it is premium rate. Premium rate phone numbers start with 09 or 070 and are 11 digits long.

    I've not had the calls, but my mother keeps getting nuisance calls from this number.

    I have been receiving 2-3 calls per day from this number for the last few days, usually around lunchtime (1.00 p.m.) and then evening meal times (6.00 p.m).  I have an answerphone and often screen before pick-up, especiallay at mealtiems, no message is left, so I have not bothered to pick up.  It is still rather annoying to get up from a meal and go to see who is calling only to find nothing.  09##### suggests a premium rate number, I have not bothered to return the call.

    I have received at least 6 calls today from this number: 09432 711557. Unfortunately I answered the call the 1st two times and also did 1471 and then pressed 3, not knowing that it maybe a premium rate number !!! I have no idea if we will be billed for these annoying and unnecessary calls which I have not requested to receive. I am registered with TPS but it seems this number manages to get through !!!
    Does anyone else know more about what company this is and if its a premium rate service ??? I have made a complaint to phonepayplus.

    I got several calls from this number and couple of times I answered but like others said it is dead on the other side and after 5sec line drops? Can BT block the number?

    Just to add my name to the growing list of angry recipients of calls from this number.  I've had them several times a day for the last week or so.  Usually nothing the other end and then it goes dead, but yesterday had a 'live' female voice with a non-English accent.  Unfortunately I was too angry to find out more about the caller and I abruptly terminated the call.  However, I think she referred to me by name, implying that the call is based on a directory, not totally random.  I am also getting similar calls from a 'withheld number' source.

    I'd guess that the calls are made from an autodialer and if answered, are picked up if an operator is available.  If not, the call drops after 10 seconds or so.

    I share your anger that a) all the agencies like OFCOM, TPS, your phone service provider are willing or able to bar these nuisance calls, and b) your name/number are being made available (no doubt at a price) to unscupulous tele-marketing organisations.

    If I get the call again and find out who is at the end, I'll post another message.

    In the past, when my elderly parents were distressed by calls of thi ssort, I was able to track the source company and sent a strongly worded e-mail.  Predictably I received no reply.

    If any one in this thread has any ideas about how to reduce or eliminate these nuisances, please share with the rest of us.

    I have no financial interest in promoting this product and cannot endorse it, but remember being impressed when it came up on "Dragon's Den".  If you can afford £80 it might be worth a look at "True Call" or similar call filtering products.

    This number called three times this afternoon. Silence every time but I did hear talking in background once. Surely somebody must have issued this number. With all our wonderful technology is it really impossible to trace the owner ?

    I've been plagued with calls from this number today as has a relative who lives nearby and is also on a Virgin line with the same area code.

    Each one is silent and the line drops after 11 seconds.
