- SimpleSteve2013-07-05 Vishing (Voice Phishing) attempt from 1-123-456-7890.
Woman caller said she was from Windows Tech, that they detected a virus infection on my computer, and wanted to fix it. When I asked her what my IP Number was, she passed me along to a male Tech. Man said he wanted me to open my Control Panel, but his voice kept breaking up. He dialed 44000000000000 twice, and then hung up. (The heavy accents sounded Asian/Indian, and the poor voice quality suggested Voip.)
They were obviously trying to get access to my computer or personal info. The key was to ask them what IP Address appeared in their detection log. My Voip provider is CallCentric, and I immediately blocked this number (although it was probably spoofed) through my Web Portal.- Caller: "Windows Tech"

- alibFinally someone spoke to me after weeks of nobody being there... Indian male told me my computer was infected. I asked why his number was 123456789 and he laughed and explained it was from a satellite and they were assisting all over the world. He wanted me to get on my computer at which point I refused and told him there's no way he can know about whats on my computer (other than IP address) and asked him not to call again. I'll let you know if anything comes of it!
- JulieI started getting calls after I filled out appication for a payday loan online. Most of the companies were real. But then I started also gettin calls from 123467789 number from a foreign man telling me he was from D.C. And that I qualified for a grant of 8500.00 and all I had to was give my information and some money when I asked him what kind of scam this was..he got hostile and at that pointi told him i was notinterested and not to call back ...The next day he called back again to tell me I got approved for a grant...once again I tools him to lose my number and not to call...he told me never and that he was going to call me everyday...

- TrinI got several calls from 234-567-89 and finally decided to answer it. After it rang to connect me to a sweatshop operator, he informed me he was from Washington DC and I was eligible to receive $9,000 from the US government. He followed up with "you may be wondering how you got picked for this program," at which point I cut him off and said I'm more curious why the government would use 234-567-89 as a phone number and be located in a small town in Ohio, and that I also missed the news on individuals getting personal bailouts while there's talk of a government shutdown as congress isn't doing their job.
They are fishing for people to provide their bank account info so they can transfer $1 into the account to verify and then later clear it out. Been happening for awhile across all walks of life and income. - Shyam Bahadur ojhaCall at mid night Unnecessary
