got a call from this company i am only 16 and i have a new number which i have not given to anyone besides a few friends, as soon as i picked up they instantly knew my name and someone i am associated with asking about them, neither of us owe any money. i am concerned as to how these people got a hold of my name and number...

Thats great advice! Except that these gutter scum companies buy up debts from the principal creditors for around 10-15% of the value, and then aggressively pursue the defendant for the full original amount. Of course this only occurs after the interest and non payment fees have been snowballing for months, and insurance claims are made on the loss. Stop being dishonest and being a pack of money grabbing bullies who are just part of a dishonest scam system. I have seen how it all works from inside one of these companies and it's disgusting the way information is illegally and dishonestly obtained and shared. Your comments above are clearly one sided and blatantly show how naive and arrogant you are as a person. Maybe you should sit down with a group of people and show them your advice. I bet you would get a shock from their reactions.

Got a new tablet and a new optus prepaid sim which i activated yesterday. I got a text saying "Hi KULISSRA, $40 P/fn offer on your overdue Optus Account to accept go to pantherafinance.com.au/customers?r=55385103 or call 1300722974 Valid till 11/07/2017.
I certainly wonder how i have a different name and have an overdue prepaid sim. And how they got my Data ONLY sim number. SCAM!

I copied the numbers and put them in a folder in my mobile. I got a message  saying important message this is security please call kayla and reference number is ..... what I panic as there is alot of things going on in our family and I got that message. I called them in a panic they answer like anyone hello no introduction just hello I said who is this she said is this julie I said who is this as soon as she said finance I interupt her talk and said how dare you message me and put a fake security scare to me not impress and hung up and block the mungrels .  DONE.

I don't owe anyone any money either, why are they suddenly calling me?

I constantly receive calls from this company claiming I owe money! As I know I don't, I simply requested they send me some kind of bill or proof of so called "debt", which is when they started to make threats about doing it the hard way! I have made a complaint to ombudsman at this point and blocked their number!!!

They keep calling asking for someone else.  And I've told them a million times that this number is my number and to stop calling.  Yet they still call and ask for the same person. And always say that they will take my number off their files yet still Calling every week.  Go away you morons.

Have been getting calls from this number for years asking for someone not at this number or address. Called them back this morning and advised of this. Was spoken to with respect and advised that they would update the file. Hopefully they do.

All the numbers in Australia go into a pool when they stop being used. theres a chance that you are using someone’s old mobile number.

They keep calling but don’t say who they are from.
