I received a call from this number this afternoon. Indian accent guy (Windows Help....yeah right) tried to tell me that my computer was being hacked and that my computer was sending him red flag messages. Yeah right!! I let him go on and on about how I needed to let him fix my operating system. When I asked him what operating system I have, he couldn't tell me. I told him that there is nothing wrong with my computer. I then hung up on him and called my family to warn them about this scam.
I did not let this idiot have any access to my computer. The number comes from Washington....but the guy is not from the US.

Just got a call from these morons. Caller ID said Wash DC, I could hardly understand him. He said he was calling from Windows and that there was a problem with my computer and asked if I was sitting in front of my PC right now, I told him 'no' and he hung up! I know from past experience with Windows, they do not call you!! LOL

I just got a phone call like this.

I asked the person: 'How do you know about my computer?' and he said that my computer was sending out a signal.

I said 'oh really?? Please tell me if I am on the computer right now"

He said, well, there is a signal coming from IP address such and such.

I said: "Really? I think that you are lying because I don't have an internet connection".

he hung up right away.

I received a text message on my cell today from +12345640274. This is what the text read  "user 68191: Hey , This is how we lost all that weight, 20 pounds in 4 weeks!I said this herb was good! bit.ly/191sGj9 " I tried to google that number to no evail. Then immediately after that text I received a call on my landline from 202-011-3341. There was nobody there. Has anybody experienced anything like this before?  My landline is non pub/non list.

they have  called me 4 times today, 3 times yesterday, once on the 12th, three times in May, and who knows how many that I have not kept track of.  Today I asked him where he was calling from, CALIFORNIA USA.  In his little India accent.  told him to quit calling me, and hung up.  He called back three hours later while we were out.

Thanks a million.  I wish we could lock these scumbags up.  I'm sick and tired of all these calls.

Thanks for the rundown! I had the same problem a year ago, got caught on an off day and got shilled for $100. They didn't crash my system, but I got the same attitude when I asked for their number, and had to change all my passwords, etc. and get my computer checked out at the local computer store to make sure no viral/wormware had been installed.
To everyone who gets this kind of call, beware! As this poster points out, these guys are pirates, and for them we reserve the lowest tier in perdition.

I got a call, too, today.  Tried to get me to tell him if I was the person registered to use Windows, he asked if my name was ......, said he would show me a setting on my computer that would explain everything about why my computer is in trouble and it would only take 10 minutes.  Said it was serious.  He asked if I was using a computer right now.  I told him no, and that I don't really use computers!  ha ha!  

He kept on with his pushy Indian accent, I swear I heard him slap leg when he said, "Oh my God, just listen to me!"  Anyway, I finally hung up and he didn't get any info from me.  He didn't call back

I've gotten many calls from these people.  I don't know anyone with the name of Andy or Erin with an Indian accent!!??  And futher more there is NOTHING wrong with my computer.  If there was, I'd take it to my local computer person. These people must think ALL Americans are idiots, to give them access to your computer.  One time when I had gotten a call from one of them, I had explained to them, that I had just gotten new (replacement) windows for my house.  They couldn't understand what I was trying to tell them, it was the best, the guy just got so frustrated that he hung up on me.  The other day I got one of their calls again, and I told "Andy" that I wanted to speak with someone who speaks "American English", NOT Indian English, But they are slick, I asked him where was he calling from, and he told me Alabama, so I asked him what was the capital of Alabama, and damn he knew what it was, well I'm just waiting for the next call from them,so I can bust chops again with them again...

I've been receiving calls from this number for the past couple weeks.. which I ignored and didn't answer. The number has a Washington DC area code.. but I don't believe it's really coming from there. I used my call blocking for that number and I still got a call today from it. I checked my cable phone account information online and it showed that the call came from Egypt. Somehow they're spoofing that number. After the first time I blocked it I got a call from 123-456-7809 which is an invalid number and can't be blocked. From reports on this number.. it's also a computer scam. I answered the call when it came in the second time today. And when they asked for me.. I lied and said no one here by that name.. and asked if they'd please remove my number from their calling list. Next time I'm going to lie and tell them I don't have a computer. Don't know if either will work. Somehow I doubt it.

I keep getting calls from them too. The first one came up on caller id as "private", but all the latest calls are this 202 DC #. I like to waste their time a bit, then scream into the phone as loud as I can, laugh, and ask them to stop wasting my time. I try not to let these calla make me crazy, but it bothers me that they are probably scamming someone out there...I wish they could be stopped.

total scam..never answer any questions on the phone. ?.

I keep getting this call from 2020113341. I finally answered it.  I could not understand him. Except I did here that his name was Christian from Windows or something like that  and he said something was wrong with my computer. Not understanding him because he was a foreigner I hung up on him because i was scared that he  was a hacker.  He has tried to call again and I refuse to answere.

They are still at it.  Received a call from  202-011-3341 today (07/29/13).  Asian sounding male said he was from the"hacking department.,"  I said a few choice words and hung up.  We have had way too many of these type fraudulent calls.  Why can't these criminals be apprehended and prosecuted?

Some one with accent from india keep caling my number about my computer.

I, as many others have, got a call from 202-011-3341.  Also saying the person was from Microsoft and they had detected a virus.  I was instructed to hold the "ctrl" and "fn" key.  not knowing what this would do I told him I did not want to do that and hung up.

Does anyone know what holding down the Ctrl and fn key will do?
