Received a call from a Restricted number claiming that I would receive a $7,000 government grant. Provide a number to call 202-621-0436 and a code.  I blocked my number and called the number provided and gave them the code and the guy said I need to unblock my number and call back. I ask why and I stated you called me with a block/restricted number, then I ask where were they located and he said 200 Independence drive sw, washington, DC 20201 and I began to ask another question and he hung up.

got a call said that i paid all my taxes and that i receive grant i believed them and went to western union and they said it was a scam at least they didnt lie

so its fake right im like what the hell is an indian calling telling me i got a grant of 7000 and every time i call the number it says this Number is no longer avalable

I received a called from an unknown caller, first, who gave me some information, that I had been chosen to receive a free grant in the amount of  $7,000, from the government,  than I was told to call the 202-621-0436, number , and they wanted me to western union $290.00 that is refundable at the time I receive the 7,000. Immediately I knew this was a scheme, because the first person that called said money gram , now this 2 person is saying western union. I than ask if this is free money, why do i have to pay money, deduct the 290.00 from the 7,000.00 and send me the $6710.00 now and I will pick up the $290.00 24 hours after receiving the $6710.00. at money gram. I stated i wouldn't have the money until friday, so they say call back on friday.  So, now I'm thinking, why wouldn't the U.S.TREASURY, send me a letter or a check. Than I googled the number, I WAS RIGHT A SCHEME.

I got the same call and the same thing was said to me. What I want to Know is this for real or is this a scam to give your money up them and recieve nothing back. They said this will insure me the 7000 dollar grant. also to let them I am who I say I am.

Yes I believe it to be a scam too. I recieved the same with the same information they gave you.  My call in into my phone as unknown if this was from the federal government I would think that it would have show up as United States of America or something of that nature. Even The U.S. Government Grants or Government Financial Aids Programs.

This morning, I have received a called and the agent told me to dial 202-621-0436 to confirm a $7000 that the US Federal Grand Department is giving me. The respondent who said being called Jessica Lee, told me that she is a federal agent working in the grant department and that I have been chosen to get a $7000 grant from the said department for having paid my taxes on time, for having not filed bankruptcy during this year and having not committed a crime. that grant would not be restituted, neither would I have to pay tax. However, since I have to claim this money from a money gram store, I would have to pay a $280.00 security deposit, which would have to be refund to me in some days.

I would like you, please, to investigate this false company.

There messing with my emotions WTF so I'm going to hang myself I just lost my job so therefor I'm losing my house my kids my Harley D and everything that may have a thing of value I'm broke ,!!!! I can't believe this I'm going to lose my dog :-( that's the most hardest thing to deal with is the real fact of life !! I had the same call today 2/8/13 at 12:57 Pm this person Alvin tell me he is from Goverment Grant Depatment  In whashington DC  he  tell me it because I have been paying my bill for the past 6 month withi is not true i have school loan to pay that is behing that how i knew it was a lie i did not ever call to confirn it i could recive the money i went directly to check the phone number I was scame once whish let me to the down fall that i am now.been there get the t-shirt no thanks.it a shame to try to take advantage of a unemployed student who it barely getting by living on ramen noodle dally.

i  got a call from #00000000 first they told me  same that all this persons  they give me a confirmation# ks071 and call 2026210436  they told me to go t western union and cal them back asking for helen moore  n they ask me to put 290 in the bank n i will get 7000 ! thanks i search about the u treasure government apt i call the #2026222000  n see they where close  so i search the # n i found this i hope the police find them :)

Yeah definitly a scam. In the past i have received over a dozen fraudgulant checks and at least have a dozen other crackpots like this one. Its funny, they say they need the $290 deposit for Identity verification purposes...LOL If thats the case how does sending $290 via western union identify me better than $1 or even fifty cents for that matter... Ahhh, they must not know fifty!!!

I just received a call from the 2026710436 number from Washington, the lady name was Cindy she told me I had to send 280 security deposit and I will get it all back once I give her the number after sending it. It's always a scale they said I haven't filed bankruptcy, don't owe taxes and no criminal record too good to be true I was just waiting for them to say something about money.

I rec 'd a call this morning 2-20-13 and they told me that I was awarded a $7000 grant basically just for being. I know that many people with valid purposes apply for and are turned down for federal funding. i thought I must be a really special person to be offered this $ 7000 just because.   I never called the number because i heard my husbands voice in my head saying "IF IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY ISN'T".

The caller did have my name and address but I DON'T THINK THAT HE HAD ANY OTHER INFORMATION.

that i had received 7000.00  all i had to do was send in 280.00 and i would get my money order in.  anything that asks you for money is a scam

I received a call from a woman from India most likely saying i had been selected to receive 7000 dollars in a federal grant based on a demographical study of my area along with 1500 other people. All I had to do was call (202)621-0436 with my approval id # DA1013 and speak to the manager. at that point the manager would walk me through the process and even stay on the line with me until i received the grant plus the 280 dollars processing fee that they wanted me to pay through western union and that the whole process would only take 10 minutes. I foolised myself, sort story I sent the money through western union country of India approximately $280.00 but the grand money that the promise to me for 7000 dollars never go through to my account and all my identity has been given to the scammers. They told me their address is 200 Independent av. South way triple H building WD 20201.

Exact same thing happened to me. I did call the number again and a woman answered with "HELLO". I started laughing at her and told her she was a s--- scam artist if she couldn't even answer the phone with her fraudulant company name. She didn't know what that meant so i told her to look it up and PISS-OFF. You can't get money out of a turnip.

Same Call But I Recorded The Whole Conversion! My Phone Pinged The Calls Location, NOT FROM WASHINGTON AND I WILL BE REPORTING THE EVIDENCE TO THE Federal Bureau of Investigation* It's Sad It Wasn't Real Very Upsetting! But Aye I Get Paid Regardless! Thanks To Them Making My Job Alot Easier! If There's Not Another Party To Replace Them, Hopefully None Of You Will Have To Will Have To Worry About This Again. They've Under Investigation Now At This Point, Thank You All For Your Evidence And Testimonials.

Just received same call, thanks for this site - prevented me from wasting my time and making the call.  Our government should be looking into this,  A guy from India also contacted me as stated in previous post.
