I also received 2 calls from this number, I became a little nervous about this whole thing. you never get anything for nothing in this world.  I figured it was a scam so I hung up the phone.  It is funny that they know so much about you thou. One from Builders Square 12103010307 and also Out Of Area 12102490540 the funny thing is I just got this number about 2 months ago, and it is not even in my name

So i got the call about a grant from a number that said it was from a payphone. I called the number and gave them the approval code. I nicely asked them to not remove my information and not call me anymore. The guy got pissed and said why you call me you [***] [***]. I responded and call him a [***] and a piece of [***]. Told him he has my information and all he had to do was remove my number. We argued for a minute. I was very calm and that upset him. These people are scammers.

I received a call from a gentleman from India most likely saying i had been selected to receive 7000 dollars in a federal grant based on a demographic study of my area along with 1500 other people. All I had to do was call (202)621-0436 with my approval id  and speak to the manager then the manager would walk me through the process and even stay on the line with me until I received the grant plus the $280 processing fee that they wanted me to pay through Western Union and that the whole process would only take 10 minutes. Glad I didn't fall for that scam, no one gets something for nothing especially $7000.

I received the same called but decided to check the internet. Good thing I did.

He said I could get it through either Western Union or through direct deposit to my bank account. I tried to call the so called manager it doesn't go through. It is s scam, they are using the government as their in. Stating they are calling from the U.S. government grant office. what a shame that their are people out there trying to scam other people. They all need to get a life.

They better stop before someone [***] them up.

i also got a call for this number new it was to good to be true when they told me to call 202-621-0436 and a woman answered said it was the branch office located in washington dc that in order to get the 7000.00 grant i would have to go to a western union an first send 290.00 then recieve it i knew right then it was a scam

SCAM SCAM Scam Thank you everyone else that wrote the previous letters.I was going to give the info for an account that I have that has $1.36 just in case it was a scam but when i asked the question about the $250 dollar processing fee the woman got mad and hung up.

This is a crying shame to scam people! A hot mess dot com!!! Please don't call my home anymore =/

I also got a call from this number stating that i was selected to received federal grants for school untill i talk to my mom she is a smart cookie she told me right away that no feds are going nto ask for money up front common sense son she said IS A TRICK TO GET YOUR DOLLAR...........

THEY NEED TO BE AHEMED TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT THAT WE NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL.

Received a call from a 000000 number. Person claimed I was randomly selected because I was a good citizen, hadn't filed for bankruptcy within the last 6 months and had no criminal record. When person was "verifying" my address she had it completely wrong. I mean, if you're from the government I would expect you to have my right address. Person said I needed to speak with her manager for further details and instructions. She also kept repeating "your $7000 grant" over and over as if I hadn't heard her the previous 10 times she said it. Just playing on your emotions...I knew it was too good to be true so I checked the # on line and confirmed that it was a scam. People have nothing better to do...

I received a call stating that I had been chosen to receive a grant from the U.S. Treasury in the amount of $ 9000.00. It came from a number that is different from the one above but is very close to being the same.  I did not write down the number that the call came from but was given a number to call back and the name of a man to ask for. The number is 202-683-9442 and the mans name is supposedly Sam Spencer. They called back today from an UNKNOWN number. When I told the lady that I thought this was a scam she hung up on me. How do we stop this ?
