I just got the call saying I had bee awarded a $7,000 federal grant. I told them to send me the check, they told me that they could only put it on my credit card, in my bank account or I could go to Western Union.  I opted for the latter.  They asked me for my age to verify my identity.  I gave them a number that was half my age. . .  Guess what.  It was sufficient verification even though it was incorrect!  I don't think I'm going to bother going to Western Union.  Besides that, since when would the Feds deposit money into your credit card or transact through Western Union?

i got a call from this no on april 4, and i was said to have been given a grant of 7000 and i was selected from a research done last year. problem is i just moved to the states in feb having won the dv lottery, so the joke is on them. i immigrated from nigeria but trust me i speak better english than those english-name-bearing asians. funny though, i thought it was only in nigeria that i had to be on my guard 24/7. i guess scammers are everywhere. i am sure they got my info when i applied to an online school. thank goodness they don't have my SSN & ACC no. they go by mary johnson/thompson, steven burton,wendy etc.

Got the same call and told to call (202) 621-0193 and was told by someone who barely spoke English that I should call back in 20 minutes.  I asked why and he said that he was in the middle of something and couldn't talk to me right now.  I told him that this was BS and hung up.  He called back and started yelling at me and I told him I was a cop and this conversation was recorded and he hung up really quick.

People don't respond to this..it is a SCAM..

I just received a call from a Guy that told me call (202) 621-0436 and gave me a code of LB369. He stated that I need to give that code to the people at the number he provided. A lady stating her Name was Arma Jones answered at the next number and she said that I won Grant Money in the amt of $7000.00 for a being a good citizen!!! No arrest record, no bankruptcies, no foreclosures.  Call came from a 00000000 # @11:40 western time. I gave her good information, I told her that I would contacting my Federal Government to verify all of this and she hung up!

Same deal here my friends except they wanted 290. Dollars, SICKENING TO ME, I personally would like to send them all to prison for extortion. Stay alert, Semper Fi.

to get a personal grant for seven grand and all i had to

send my $7000 but before i did anything i checked
into it and found out that its all fake even the people
calling. so be aware of odd numbers there all
scams.

So they did the same [***] to me, but I have to say is it fake or unfake? I say a big [***] fake in my port.

These people really tried to scam me.  If it sounds too good to be true then usually it is! An Indian guy named Clarence stating he was from the federal government free grants program called from #2026210436 asking me to send $250 in order to collect $7000 and it had to be done through Western Union

I kept getting calls from a unknown number so i couldnt block it finally answered hoping the calls will stop(getting these calls everyday 3-4   times a day) total scam

I got a call, was given my "Grant Conformation" # with  the number 202-621-0436 I was to call back & talk to the Sr. Account Mgr.  I could hardly understand the man that gave me the name of Sam Wilson.  I called the number & talked to an Emily Harris that I had a hard time understanding.  I was told I had been picked as 1 of 1,500 others to get this "One Time Grant".  I could either have it deposited in my bank, direct deposit card or Western Union but I had to pay the Federal Bank $280 for the transfer first but I would get that back with the $7,000.  I asked for a letter or an email to prove I was not being scammed.  She told me "Trust me as one human being to another I am not getting your money, you will get it back".  
I could hear others on the phone in the background doing the samething.  The more questions I asked the more she got upset.  I was also told if the amount was less than $5,000 there wouldnot be a charge.
I was so glad to find this site.  I know our goverment has problems but I some of them speak clear English.
Don't fall for this scam & always remember this:.  If it sounds too good to be true it's most likely not.

I just got the same call & the same information.  I just had to send $280 to get the $7,000.

Samething happened to me.
Remember this you're not going to be given a Grant without a ton of paperwork.
If you can hear other people on phones in thae background this should raise a flag.
If they give you a comon name & sound like they are from another country something is not right.
If you have a hard time understanding them English is their second language.
You NEVER have to pay to get money except the rate charged by Western Union or the service used.
Stop putting your information on different websites, you're fair game when you do.

I received a call from a gentleman from India most likely saying i had been selected to receive 7000 dollars in a federal grant based on a demographical study of my area along with 1500 other people. All i had to do was call (202)621-0436 with my approval id # KI214 and speak to the manager. at that point the manager would walk me through the process and even stay on the line with me until i received the grant plus the 250 processing fee that they wanted me to pay through western union and that the whole process would only take 10 minutes.

This AM and lots of other calls I did not answer, did the same stuff to me. I would not verify my address or dob for them and asked to speak to mgr. they didn't have a mgr, today and assured me they would let him know. I lied about my dob and address so not get any more junk from them . How did they get my # and address How do we stop these JERKS? SHUT THEM DOWN AND JAIL THEM?
