Called me, said I was to receive a govt. grant for $8,500, for paying on time & never arrested.  Asked how I wanted the money, to my Bank Account, Credit Card or Western Union.  She seemed a little annoyed when I said Western Union.  About 15 mins. after the call, she called me back to ask if I had gone to Western Union yet & told me I needed to hurry.  So I put the number into Google & here I am on this discussion board.

I received a call from this number and I call back and nothing and today they call me again. It's strange

After I asked the man to stop calling. He said he would just keep calling and calling!

This # 202-657-6869 has call me daily on my cell phone.
No message left. Please help

Just as soon as I heard the Pakistani/ Indian accent asking for me by name, I knew it was only another scam. First a woman, then a man claiming to be reps from the U.S. Government. I told them I was a spy for Great Britain, code name 0069 and they started screaming at me. Just let them know at once that you are on to the scheme, and they'll stop calling, especially if you give them a good [***] and bull story.

Either don't answer if you don't recognize the #. Better yet, make fun of them- let them know you are not fooled. 99% of received calls by people with mid eastern (usually Indian) accents are looking for someone to scam.

Indian lady ....kept asking my name ....then i kept saying whos calling who calling ...then she said Fu$K  You and called my name

The number called and asked for my daughter by name ,she's 7yrs old so I said I was her. He said I (my daughter) was eligible for a  $9000 grant from the government because she's paid her taxes and never been arrested.
I then informed him that the person he was asking for was a 7yr old girl.
He seemed confused and angry then said I lied to him about being her (my daughter)
I then asked if he wanted to talk to her about princesses and glitter. He hung up.

Just recieved a call telling me I've been awarded $8500 in grant money for paying my taxes and bills on time. I haven't paid taxes in 11 years, I'm on SSDI. Then proceeds to give a number to call for more information. Nope, anyone giving out free money is a red flag for me...

He told me the same thing

A gentleman called, identified himself as being from the federal government. He told me I had been randomly selected to receive an $8500.00 grant. I hung up on him.

Keep getting calls from this number multiple times per day and it just beeps if I answer

I received a call from this number person on phone (male) using fowl language at me I what this reported

Get a call almost every day from this person. Ask for me by name . Sometimes they use a different number with same line. I'm on the do not call list and still get them.

Answered asking for a specific name (not my on), told him he had the wrong number and he proceeded to call me a [***] twice.  Then said have a wonderful day and hung up.

Received a call from a man with a heavy accent, claiming to be from the US government grant department

Lady with a Pakastani accent making the same claims about a federal grant. I played along while I recorded the call....then told her I had her recorded...lol

Indian lady called started I was selected to receive a government grant for 8500 Then got nasty with me when I told her I was not interested
