these calls started today I answered the first one and was hung up on. Now they are calling almost every hour. I am letting machine pick up

Got first call today.  Called at 7:40 pm while I was not at home.  Did not leave a message.  Now that I know what it is for, I will just let my answering machine pick up.

Called twice today within an hour ... no message.

Called once today and when I answered no one was on the line.

I got a call last night.  Nobody there.  From reading other posts, it is a Telemarketing company.  I've dealt with those before.  This is how it works.  A person is assigned numerous phones, and they ring in our homes all at the same time.  When someone answers and the telemarketer takes that call, ALL other calls are hung up on.  Sometimes, they can have 20 calls at one time.  Which means, 19 are inevitably hung up on.  IT REALLY SUCKS.  And, I've found, the best comment when they do talk to you is.. NOTHING.  Hang up on them.

Marketing firms cannot by law leave a message. Answer the call and either do the survey or politely tell them you do not wish to participate. They usually do not call again. They just like to get as many responses for their client as possible.

Rany, how would you feel if you were the person on the other end of the line? Think about it, would you like a kind response or a rudeness?  I kill em with kindness and they keep the call short and the calls stop. Just because you hang up, does not mean that the calls will stop. Try talking to them, dripping with honey, and an accent. My favorite is a cartoon character. They get a kick out of it and the survey goes very quickly. Try making someones work day better, rather than a slew of hangups and rudeness.

called me twice within 20 minutes, first time didn't leave a message, second time I picked up and he said he was calling on behalf of some publication, I have a Radio Shack machine called "quick hang-up" I just press the button hang up the phone and my recorded message plays "we don't accept these type of calls please delete our name and number and don't call again" i save all my frustration dealing with these people, the radio shack machine cost only around $10.00

Whats up with these person calling from unpublished number in winnepeg, MB.204-949-3108 many times a day asking for different people and when I tell them they have wrong # they say Im a lieing and to stop acting like a B*tch. Who the H*ll are these people ? first few times it was a guy then now its a girl. . This is my cell phone they calling. I think these people NEED  TO GET A DAM LIFE.

I tried to add to do not call list and it wouldn't take it. Please remove them asap. thanks.

I get calls every day from this number.  We're registered on the Do Not Call registry and I don't understand why this call is getting through.  I've blocked the number manually on my phone.

I started getting the Manitoba Hang-Ups a few weeks ago. (sounds like a song or a disease) I'm never there when they phone. They hang up before my machine even picks up. Just caller ID to show another Winnipeg MB attempt. Not annoying, just odd. After reading this string of comments, it sounds like everyone has had really different experiences with this number, and yet it doesn't sound like the "Company" is actually getting any "Research & Survey Information" gathered. Way Fishy.

Call at least 5 times a day. My 10 year old answered last night and they asked him if he owned any Sony or Emerson products and if he wanted the opportunity to do a commercial for these brands. He told them that we were unavailable and hung up. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they call again.

This Ipsos company is a marketing/survey outfit. Apparently, they don't fall under the rules of the "Do Not Call List". The only way to stop them is to answer it and tell them you are not interested. You can try asking them to remove your number from their list, but I have a feeling they random dial.

The US federal "Do Not Call" does not work with Canadian numbers at all, but they DO have an email address:

dncconsumerinquiry2@ftc.gov

and if we bug them enough they might fuss at Canada.

One can only hope

Our Do Not Call Fed system doesn't deal with Canada.

But if we email them enough dncconsumerinquiry2@ftc.gov we might bug them into talking to Canada some about it.
