Report a phone call from 205-280-0212 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- DCPC virus scam; they try and trick you into installing some sort of virus. They called twice in one day. The second time, I actually took the call and played along for a while. Then I put them on hold and abandoned the call. Morons.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Roy WI also have been receiving regular calls requesting me to allow remote internet access in order to commence urgent maintenance required in order to prevent collapse of my hard drive, they claim to represent Microsoft and require immediate remote access in order to prevent my hard drive from crashing. On the first occasion I did notice a slow response from my computer as suggested so I immediately utilized my security hard ware to do a virus search, and sure enough I found 2 corrupt files I immediately deleted, then set my firewall to maximum security. Though obscure phone numbers keep trying to call me. When I have answered it sounds like they are operating out of some cheap overcrowded warehouse speaking with a eastern Mediterranean accent. Indian Indonesian on the border of Arabic influence, though it could be from the Congo or Nigeria too????
- Caller: Microsoft
- Call type: Telemarketer
- XThis number has called our house at least once a day for the past four days, and they've called multiple times in the past, too. Rather than let voicemail get it (which tells them for sure that it's a valid number), I've been picking up and holding down either the star key or the pound key so that it is just one long beep in their ear.
Today I was feeling a little creative, so I picked up and said, "Federal Communications Commission, Enforcement Division, how may I direct your call?"
Click.
I don't live anywhere near DC, and it's Saturday, but we'll see if they call again. - FeliciaThey call to say they are calling from Windows and when you question the reason they hang up

- JimReceived a call from this same number, same scam about computer being compromised by malicious programs. Represented himself as a MicroSoft employee. Call the number back and it is disconnected.

- marshaIt was sort of funny. I didn't answer the phone and I have actual VM (like people do at work) and this guy kept saying Hello,
thinking I could hear him (I guess). He finally hung up.
Wonder how he liked it to be ignored.
And I will do it again if they call back.
They are just a scam.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Jenna S.The man just called and yelled at me that I was a racist because I wouldn't allow him to teach me how to get the ID number off my computer.
He said he was from Windows and my computer was sending signals that it had a virus
He actually had me for a couple minutes there but the fact that it sounded like he was in a sweat shop with 75 other people pulling the same scam made me think otherwise!!
I just kept asking him why I had to over and over and he got mad and hung up on me hahahaha.- Caller: green ADA

- XI just got what is probably the 20th phone call from this number in the past 2-3 months. Because I now know that a 205 number with "Ada Green" on the caller ID, tonight I answered (in my best customer service tone), "Thank you for calling Microsoft Corporation, how may I direct your call?" There was silence, so I held down the * key, which makes one nice, long beep, for about 30 second. When I let up, they had disconnected.
They probably have no clue that Microsoft is not located in SC, and I'd bet they don't even know where SC is. We'll see if they call again. If they do, I'll either do the Microsoft thing or answer as an operator for the FBI, the CIA, or Interpol.- Caller: Ada Green/Microsoft scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Ms.D replies to DCI received the same call and I do have a pc, but never registered this one. I was about to erase hard drive to make sure, but decided to take a look to see what was on the net. So glad I did. Ada Green should be arrested.
Be careful - Beth replies to MLCThey got my whistle today, as loud as I could blow it into the phone!! Seems no one was there, but if they were, I think I blew out their eardrums! Hopefully they will get the hint!
- Steve replies to D.T.Called me, told me they were calling about my computer, asked if I was a "Windows customer."
- KevinWho is calling me. I tried calling the number back and it said it had been disconnected???? How can that be?
