Scammers, spoof-calling (the number you see isn't the actual number they're dialing from). Try all sorts of scams to get your credit card info. Do NOT give them any information! Either mess with them a little first and hang up, or just hang up.

I just reported them to the do not call registry. I would suggest everyone does the same so there can possibly be an investigation started.

"Gary Smith" is not real.  Simply do not provide information.  If there was any legal matter on said individual ie legal docs would be available and they would not need to deal with places of business.  Its obvious that if the law is involved than a law affiliated individual would be involved.  These people are scammers with all the time in the world or whatever country they are in.  They are using VOIP numbers not traceable, trackable.  Waste of the government's time, but shows you the persistent extremes of a scammer.

Guy with Indian accent calls and tries to convince you that they have received a report that your computer has downloaded a dangerous virus and tries to get you to go on your computer. When pressed for more specific information, he just repeats that your computer made a dangerous download and asks you to go on your computer. If you ask for a supervisor another guy come son and if you ask for the name of the company and a contact to lodge a complaint they will only say they are not authorized to give out that info...then they hang up

This is all linked to a company called, this week/month, Halsted Financial. They called from a different number and I refused to confirm or deny the last of my social/address or anything else. Told her to contact me by mail. One hour and 9 minutes later the recording calls and asks for my statement. WTFE!! I'd already told them to contact me by mail. Now they will just go to voicemail.

Caller with a n Indian accent , says he is from microsoft . My computer according to him is sending continuous error report to microsoft .  What the idiot does not know , is I build computers . My comp reports nothing to microsoft . It's a scam call trying to get remote access to your comp . I assume digging for personal info ./ account #'s and such . Just laugh and hang up , or have a little fun and pretend to be carefully following the instructions while doing nothing .

Said his name was David, then Alan, heavy Indian accent. Said they were from "Windows" and that he would fix my Windows Error messages. Obvious Boiler room, based on the amount of background noise. Told him I couldn't hear him because of it and he called me back from a Texas number. I questioned him on that, and he said it was because they were using VOIP. I asked him that he worked for Microsoft and he said no, Windows, and that they were different than Microsoft. Finally admitted that he doesn't and said he worked for a company called Pan Global Enterprises. Wanted to go into my computer, he said he could tell me my Windows ID to prove he was legit. He gave me the CLSID #, saying it was my Windows user ID, but it is the same for all my computers, NOT a Unique to each machine. He couldn't give me my Windows Product ID, which is different for ALL computers. Led him on for about 20 mins, before I had to leave house and just left the phone on. My daughter said he stayed on the line for at least 10 more minutes saying "Hello? Sir? Are you there?" Heheheh.
DO NOT let these people have access to your computer!!

I just got the call, answered the phone, other end said nothing then hung up. I called the number back and it says it is disconnected. There are so many scams out there it's getting to the point that I'm almost afraid to answer the phone. I'm sure there is or will be a scam that is activated simply by picking up the phone and connecting the call. It's a sad, scary world.

This number has called me numerous times, and hangs up, today I answered it, it was a forenginer, telling me they were from Windows, usually they say microsoft, they were laughing in the background, so I knew they were lying as if I didn't already know. I told them I don't have a fing computer he said you have an efing laptop. I said don't call here anymore, or I will get you for harrassment.. he told me to f off several times, then I proceeding in calling him everything in the book. This is getting horrible, I am on the do not call registry and it doesn't work , I actually think they sell your number.
