Just got a message (computer-generated female voice) telling me the IRS was about file a lawsuit against me.  I sent the number and a recording of the message to a friend of mine in the IRS criminal division.  The call from this number IS a SCAM. (I wonder if people actually DO pay them?)

Got a call saying it was the IRS

Basically saying that  this is IRS- the internal revenue service, that they had been trying to get a-hold of me,a law suit had been filed against me. That  this was my final call. asked that I call back at 2067344414. I never called back. This message was left on my answering machine.

Same as listed by others...IRS, final call, taking me to court.  Knew it was BS, but called wanting to see whom would answer.  Heard what appeared to be Eastern Culture chanting.  Really ticks me off.  Phone company not willing to do anything without police report.

Bogus recorded message from IRS; as a tax accountant I know the IRS NEVER makes such calls.  The caller ID is probably fake.

I had a message on machine telling me exactly what everyone else is saying.  It says we have been trying to reach  you and the IRS has filed a law suit againt you and call us back.

Today I got a call from this number saying this is my final notice. IRS is filing a law suit against me, to get more detail about this file I call this number.

I just got the same call...freaked me out.  I am a low income senior and have not had to pay taxes for years.  Came here toi  check it out before I called my attorney...Phew.

Same as above! Called back & all I get is a busy signal. I too wonder how many people will fall for this? You'd think someone would shut them down. I agree with "Dean"....thank Christ for these message boards & Google!

When I got home yesterday, I checked our answer machine, and got a women's voice saying she was calling for the IRS.
She said we would have to make a payment, and would be charged if we didn't pay soon. I was leary of this, as IRS usually only sends everything in the mail...not phone calls. Besides that, we are making monthly payments to IRS now.

Received call on my cell phone. Same message IRS lawsuit.  Goggled the number right away.  I have an Tax accountant/attorney do my taxes his name is on the form to contact.

Missed a call from someone identifying himself as being from the irs; furthermore said there was a lawsuit being filed against us. Thought it was odd that this kind of information would be left on an automated message with no identifying information as to who the individual was; our name was not mentioned. I called back, it rang and rang, called back again and it was busy.

the true irs would not handle matters in this unprofessional matter. Do not be concerned.

received this same message this morning, and i know good and well i paid my taxes. the nerve of these companies to try and fish.

received call from this number. left message saying same as above from I.R.S. when called back got person speaking very broken English . when I said that I would like to talk to someone that could speak english a bit clearer  the person on other end of line got verrrrrrrry upset and hung up on me ! ! !

We got the same call on 2 different phone numbers, both on the no-call list.  You can report this to your US Attorney's office.  They probably already know, but the more complaints they receive, the better.

Claimed to be IRS filling lawsuit against me, final notice , call back immediately. Called number back got recording that they are not available at this time.

Same 'experience' as previous commenters - reported to local police; officer came took report/ attempted fraud - gave me IRS Scam Hotline 1-800-366-4484 to report incident.
