got a call from this person last night (8/24/2010) and this morning (8/25/2010) asking if we had a gas service...they keep calling, we are also on the do not call list...how do we get them from stop calling us???? On my caller ID it comes up as Coeur D Alen IDAHO

I got a call from this number on the 19th, a couple of days after I had placed an online order using my checkcard in which I entered my rarely used home number in the order form.  On the 20th I noticed a checkcard purchase from New Pets Market posted in my bank account.  I googled them with no luck.  There is a website listing a phone number with a Seattle area code which I thought was strange since they listed their office hours in Central time.  No one answers this number...only a message recorded by a man who barely speaks English.

Has anyone who has received a call from this number placed an online order around that time,  and if so, have you checked your credit cards or bank accounts since?

I received a message from them at 10:20am Aug 25, 2010, same as above the caller ID and White pages reverse look up traces the number to an unpublished landline based in Coeur D'Alene, ID. The message said "dog" just like many other people had. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I've filed a complaint for every call.  They call multiple times in a row and it's an extreme nuisance.  I wish there was a way to get through to the perp and give him some of his own medicine... to harass people like this is ridiculous.

Same deal here - - I live in Northern Virginia.  Got the small dog query about 10 AM this morning.  I replied no and the caller hung up.  What gives?

That sounds good.  Thanks for the tip.  I tried not answering it.  I tried answering and hanging up right away.  Nothing works.  They asked do you have a small dog.  Then hung up.  The number is coming from Idaho.

I'm afraid to call, because then he'll add my # again to his data base. I tried to call with number blocking, but they don't accept that kind of call, voice says.

no message - just background noise for a few seconds, then, hangup.

Got a call from 2087580218...nothing but an automated message asking "do you have a small dog?".  Then they said a series of numbers and hung up. No identification, no purpose for the call, nothing!  Obviously it was some kind of scam.  I called the number back a few times and the recording said "the mailbox is full".  I called my phone company and had the number permanently blocked.  But, I would like to see this company stopped.  How can I find out who it is and take steps to stop them.

Have received several messages from this number--supposed a survey from T. Phillips Gasoline.  I finally answered the call this morning.  The first call was a recording asking if I had a small dog.  I hung up without saying anything.  They called back in about 10 minutes asking about my natural gas provider.  Regrettably, I answered a few questions before deciding to hang up.  Very odd!!!!

Got a call from Alen D. Couer ID Tuesday evening at 5pm, no left message on my machine.  I another call today at 1:07pm  I was home to answer the phone.  It was automated call.  It said Survey number 101 do you own a small dog.  Then it said answer yes or no.  I answered [***] you.  I tried to call the number back, got a recording that voice mail box is full.  No doubt!!  Others like me want to tell them to go [***] off.    I am tired of these scam calls.  This is not a survey.  I am on the DNC list.  See how much good that does.  Our society really sucks ass.

Got the small dog call as well.  Because National Do Not Call laws prohibit only direct tele-marketing and allow for things like polls and surveys some of the criminals with auto-dialers will pretend to take a survey.  They later plan to target you with off-shore telemarketing calls or old-fashion US junk mail (snail-mail).  So its interesting that Mr Chase does indeed own a direct mail marketing company.  Could this statement "Please be advised that we have absolutely no connection whatsoever with any telemarketing firm or telemarketing activities" be a non-denial denial?  Afterall, they were only taking a survey.  Perphaps people who answered "yes" should watch their mail box for junk-mail with things like pet insurance, dog food, dogie toys etc.  But it is also possible that the small dog question was just a trick to see if a live person does indeed answer the phone.  And it is not proven that Mr Chase is the one doing this.

The only way to handle the people doing this is to never respond to their calls.  Let the answering machine screen the calls if possible.  If for some reason you have to answer, hang-up as soon as it becomes clear that the caller is not somebody you already know.  Most of us are nice people. we were raised to be polite, and to be polite on the phone, but the people making these calls are trying to take advantage of that. Just hang up on them, or better yet, screen all calls.  

Never respond to them, don't yell or give them smart little come-backs.  This will most likeley get one targeted for more junk-calls.  Resist the temptation to answer questions about political/social issues, don't give them any information about you at all.

We just got a call froj 208 758 0218 - recorded message asded if we owned a small dog... I said why?  then the phone made a click and put me thru to something else which only had a busy signal...I of course hung up.   I won't give out info on these calls

Have received 8 calls from this number in the past 3 days. Each time they stay on long enough to leave a voicemail and then they hang up. Caller ID says: Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. Tried calling the number back but it rings indefinitely.
