A guy name Jack called me from this number and he advertise me about a virus into my computer. He want fixed whit me on line. He say call from IMPC support.

Got this call yesterday from Shawn at IMPC Support telling me that they were certified Microsoft technicians and that my computer was infected and I was at high risk of losing everything.  He wanted to access my computer and correct this problem.  Naturally I told him he was full of Sh...t and I would definitely not let him acces my pc... I told him I would check this out and he could call me back the next day (today).  I then called Microsoft to get a handle on this and was told that Microsoft have absolutely no business with this company and that this was a scam and I should not accept anything they propose.... in other words HANG UP the phone.

Sure enough the guy called back today and gave me the same story and I finally hung up on him.

End of story!  Don't be scammed

Je réside à Laval, Québec. J'ai reçu un appel de ce no 210-249-0540. La personne (anglophone avec un accent particulier) s'identifie comme étant un technicien de Microsoft et me dit que mon logiciel Windows a envoyé plusieurs messages les informant qu'il y a un virus destructeur dans mon ordinateur qui doit être enrayé. Il me demande de me rendre à mon ordinateur pour me guider afin d'éliminer le virus. Comme je me concentre pour comprendre le message qui n'est pas dans ma langue, il a eu le temps de me faire son baratin avant que je réagisse. De toute évidence, cette personne (ou organisation ) n'est pas crédible et semble sévir partout et au Québec francophone aussi.

J'ai reçu cet appel il y a environ 10 minute.
Le numéro était L1-210-249-0540...
Comme pour vous tous, le gars au téléphone disait qu'un virus destructeur sa trouvait dans mon ordi...
Quand je lui ai dis qu'il y avait genre 4 ordi dans ma maison et que je voulais savoir lequel étais infecté, il m'a dit que cela n'avait pas d'importance. (1st strike)
Ensuite, voyant que je ne comprenais pas trop l'anglais (mais c'est plutôt lui que je comprenais pas...), il m'a proposé de downloader ammyy en tapant le now sur google...Sur le 3e ou 4e lien sur google, il y avait un lien vers ce site : http://antivirus.about.com/b/2010/12/08/ammy-com-scam.htm. Pas besoin de clicker sur ce lien si vous ne voulez pas...je vais vous dire le titre de l'article que j'y ai trouvé :

Ensuite, je lui ai dis que je n'étais pas à l'aise d'utilisé ce genre de programme; il m'a alors proposer un autre programme : cean viewer (je pense). Je lui ai alors demandé à faire l'opération par moi même pendant qu'il me guide...Il a un peu hésité mais a fini par accepter. Il m'a alors fait entrer dans "l'observateur d'événement". Il m'a demandé si je voyais le mot "erreur" dans le journal d'événement. J'ai eu Vista pendant 3-4 ans et je me suis promené énormément sur mon ordi pour corrigé le nombre gigantesque de problèmes qu'il m'a apporté; je me suis entre autre promené assez souvent dans l'observateur d'événement pour savoir qu'il est normal d'avoir certaines "erreurs" dans le journal d'événement...(3rd strike)

J'ai alors racroché, convaincu qu'il me scamais. J'ai alors pris en note son numéro de téléphone et je l'ai rechercher sur google. J'ai alors tombé sur votre site qui me confirme que mes doutes étaient bel et bien fondés...

Aussi, j'ai bien aimé sa réaction lorsque je suis tombé sur le site qui avertissait d'un éventuel scam et que je lui ai fais pas que je croyais qu'il me scamais ;p

moi j'ai recu a date 3 appel de ce numero mais c'est ma fille qui a repondu et la seul chose qu'il dit c'est allo et des que je prends la linge il coupe la linge ma fille a peur et c'est normal a cette age mais j'aimerais bien que sa arrete et je sais pas koi faire

Encore une fois un appel de ce numéro de [***] pour me faire croire que mon ordi est infecté et qu'ils vont me régler ça si je les laisse entrer dans mon système.
Ils nous prennent pour des idiots ou quoi ?
Besoin de vous dires que j'ai pas perdu de temps et raccroché sur le champs

Shut the f*** up about being so informative. Being an IT professional I am quite familier with [***] like you. You do not even know hwo to fix the power cable of your computer & you are bragging here about laws & Information Technology.

Basically, I feel pity about a huge no. of [***] like you around -_-

A guy with thick Indian or Pakistani (?) accent called me from this 210-249-0540 saying my computer is infected by a  virus. He cam fix it with me on line. I asked which company he called from and he says from  IMPC. I said hold on, the police are actually right here for something else and he hug up..It's a scam of course. You could also hear in the background that the room was full of other people with thick eastern-Asian accents so maybe the call does come from India but is re-routed from the US to hide the original location. I am also from Quebec so they are definitely targeting Quebec these says, if I go by all the recent comments before mine.

HI! this number called me stating that my computer is sending negative messages, i told him i would call my tech.. about it, he wanted me to open my computer and he would fixe the problem. i hanged up. call mY tech...
"DO NOT OPEN YOUR COMPUTER IF SOME ONE ASK TO FIXE SOMETHING ON IT"

Same here I got a call from a guy called marc lymm saying the same [***] he wanted to fixed my computer , that I had some errors , he worked for a company impcsupport bla bla , and he asked me to give him access to my computer to fix the errors , when he asked that I said in my mind screw you [***] you wanna steal me ..... so guys be aware ... this company wanna rip off canadians.

got a call from this guy saying he worked for IMPComputer,  a sub maintenance compagny of microsoft telling me that my computer is full of virus or something, I played with him for 30 minutes or so, he was trying to make me some stuff in cmd promp and other stuff in my C:/. I acted like I was a big noob at computer so he worked hard ahah. then I told him to [***] him self and hung up

I'm in Quebec, Canada.  I had a call from this number.  I talk to someone who tried to tell me that my computer was infected by a virus and he wanted to help me with it.  I just told the man I did not trust his call and I was about to hang up.  What I've done.  I will call my local police department about this call.  DO NOT TRUST that kind of call.

En 3 jours, j'ai reçu des appels de 4 numéro différents dont celui-ci.
Moi, on ne m'importune pas très longtemps. Je me suis acheté de nouveaux tél. de marque Panasonic et dès qu'un no. bizarre s'affiche, je peux le bloquer immédiatement. Lorsqu'ils essaient de rappeler ça sonne un coup et ils reçoivent une tonalité de ligne occupée.
De plus, tous les appels dont le no. n'apparait pas sur l'afficheur sont automatiquement bloqués.
Croyez-moi, c'est très pratique d'avoir cette fonction.

Got a call from that number. Could hear voices in the background but nobody on the phone. Got 2 calls within 30 min. Who are those people?

Getting prank calls

I got a call from the same numer today. I answered and a guy told me my computer was infected by a malicious malaysian virus. He gave me some kind of a CLS ID number. He offered to help but I refused. He kept insisting. I finally I hung up on him..I intend to report the number to the national don't call list of Industry Canada.

Got a call today from a lady who said my computer was infected and I was going to lose important files.  I knew right away it was phishing.  I still played along just to see.  I kept her on the line for a good 20min and she hung up on me.
She was trying to have me install teamviewer.com so she could access my PC remotely.
Gessing they were gonna ask for my CC number at some point.

One of our cellphones is getting calls from these people If these people are such a problem why can't they be stopped?
