i got a call from this number too  210 280 8487, they hung up

it has nothing to do with telus. it is a scam trying to get you to go to a website that will "fix your computer problems" its called computerrepair or some such thing.  ignore the calls and eventually they will stop, OR get a good whistle and blow the hell out of it the next time you answer their call.  THAT will ensure they co not call back.  and it just might cause some ear problems   oh well.

yep, they are still going strong with this scam as long as there are idiots out there who get duped.  just got a call now.  Sad truth is, these are originating from India (http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.c ... s%20release.pdf) and as anyone who's been to India knows.. the government there will NEVER implement any policy to prevent these scammers from running their scams.  I spoke with a guy in Delhi who said we was working at a scam "call centre" with about 300 other people and was even payed a salary!!

I got a call from this number said they were from microsoft so i hung up right away because my cousin got a call from them and they said they were from microsoft and said she had a virus in her computer, she said her computer was acting up so she let them into her computer and they had set up a program in her computer that let them see all of her passwords and every other password in the future that she would create, they ended up getting into her bank account, so beware dont give them any information and the police wont do anything about it. Somebody needs to stop these a--holes

Have been called by this number everyday for a week now and when i answer it, its quiet for like 40 seconds and then they hang up.

If the number is not in service when calling back, they are likely falsifying (personating) another number in their call display setup to make the calls.

This caller is not answering when I pick up? don't know anyone in San Antonio?? Very upsetting

i have received these calls a number of times, telling me my "Windows" computer has issues. Considering i dont own a PC (all Mac baby), i bait them on for a bit, and frustrate the crap out of them before they hang up. It can actually be pretty fun, considering the people on the other end of the phone have no clue.
Or after they say they are calling about my Windows computer, i say right away that I have a Mac and they hang up.

These are one of the worst scammers beware

Got a call from this number this afternoon. I recognized it from before, so I picked up the phone and in my best Gunnery Sergeant Hartman voice shouted:
TEXAS? ONLY STEERS AND [***] COME FROM TEXAS ! ! !
'click'

He called looking for some one, I asked what is this about and he assured me "i didn't need to worry". He went on to ask about my town residence and i asked who he was and what company he was with. His response was " i choose not to tell you"; Then he hung up... Can't the fed gov. do some thing about this???

They called my cellphone and I heard a boat's horn blaring and the pre-recorded voice said I could win a trip to the Bahamas or something for answering 10 questions.  I hung up before listening any more.

Rec'd ANOTHER call from 210-280-8487.  This is about 25 calls in 3 months. I HAVE HAD IT.  I GAVE the caller on the other end a NICE piece of my mind!!! LUCKILY FOR ME - FOR ONCE they called when I wasn't in a meeting, on the phone or busy, otherwise!   I was RUDE and told them to STOP calling me and If they didn't i would report them to Phone Busters for Fraud calls.  Will see if my conversation had any effect, if the calls stop.

My answer machine recorded the call, but they didn't leave a message.

everyone I know gets calls from SCAMMERS on their Rogers phone.  I got them daily, then one day I answered and had my 110lbs German Shepherd go nuts on the phone, he is louder than an air horn, probably made their ears bleed.  They haven't called back since.


Obviously Rogers customer lists aren't as private as we are all hoping........................................

knowing full names and #'s?  Scary.

Next time any of you get the computer infected line, simple ask the person to tell you your IP address to verify if they have the right computer ;)
