Received several calls from this #, did not answer, they left no message. Caller I.D. "Central Research".

Two times in one evening hung up when I picked up. 3-30-10

same thing! they  call me 4 to 5 times a day.. NO answer.. just silence then hang up.. MOST ANNOYING.

I just got a call from this number--it was a political survey.  It seemed to lean Republican, for what it's worth.  (I'm a Republican, so I'd like to think my perception that it leaned my way is somewhat objective.)  The survey was by a live person, not a machine.  It was entertaining enough, although some of it pertained to local (New York State) politics that I don't know a lot about.

Got a call from this number at 10:30 pm.  Person just stayed on the line after I answered and wouldn't respond or talk.  Then hung up.  Does anyone know who this pervert might be?  It's a land line and I know where it lives in Manhattan.

I received two calls from this number yesterday. My caller ID said it was Research Central.
The first time the person said they're not selling anything, and asked if I was a registered voter, and I said I was too busy for a survey right now.
The second call I received asked if I was the youngest registered voter, and I said that I was on the"do not call list", and she said "sorry" and hung up.

Had this call around 6:30 pm.  Caller ID'd as "Central,Researc" (truncated on my display)

Friends -- I too am fed up with receiving unwanted calls from Central Marketing. They show up on my caller ID as (212)260-1308. I've followed some online threads to obtain the company's business number, (212)260-0070, but speaking with them has gotten me nowhere. However - I have good news to share. The head of the company' name is Carol McMahon. HER HOME PHONE NUMBER IS (212)744-3621. Please give her a call and tell her how you feel about receiving repeated, unwanted calls at your home. Do it quick because she'll likely be changing her number soon. Pass it on!

What's funny she doesn't accept calls that are blocked (punch *67 in front of your number). She was quite indignant that I called her "You called me at home!" Yeah, well your company called me at my home at 7:42 at night (Oct. 8, 2010). At least I had the courtesy of calling her at 8:30 in the morning. She then said I should contact my state's AG office. The company's receptionist said they were a research company. If Carol's company was really legit she'd have repeated that mantra. I urge anyone who is on the list and gets a call start asking for money or threaten to contact and file the violation with the FTC. It's only fair and the only thing that will get them to change is financial loss.

This person called me (0297187644). It seemed as if they hung up as soon as I answered but I could hear smething moving, very lightly, but I could still hear it.

So I kept the phone near my ear and didn't hang up, eventually I said "You may want to hang up now, [***]." So, surprise surprise, they hung up and I could hear the ACTUAL beep beep beep.

Now I'm not sure what this has to do with any of this because I live in Australia, but I am just saying that's what happened to me. And I am kind of scared, this person has rung us like 5 times already.
