I just got a call from the number 213-325-3204 but didn't call back because I thought "Who do I know in LA?" so checked around and found this site. Thx so much everyone for the info.

I Got call from  213-325-3204. according to recorded messages ‘this call is regards of some of my job application recently completed online. We screen in behalf of 1000's of company. Please stay online, specialist will be with you soon.’ And they put me on hold for 10 min. after that I cut the line..
When i called them back i heard the same recorded message, after 15mins hold i could speak to one lady representative. I confirm the information which they already had about me. After verifying the information She said next week representative will call me either for more information or for interview. I don't know why but i have a negative feeling for this call the way they are representing them selves and the way they are hiding their identity  gives us impression that something is fishy.
I told about my concern to that lady, she said actually they are still training people to took the call so representatives are less and calls are many so it takes time.

I received the same call 15 minutes ago.  I was immediately put 'on hold' with nice music and the occasional reference to an application that I had filled out.  During that time I accessed this site and read all the postings.  I finally grew weary of waiting and hung up.

I think, regardless of the nature of the business using our minutes, that we should all just think back for a second to that time when we were so fatigued from looking for a job that we ACTUALLY filled out that little application which clearly requested information concerning our desire to further our education, check our credit scores, start our own franchise, etc.

Desperation can lead to mistakes, and, in our haste for employment, we unwitingly allowed this to happen to ourselves.

I am not advocating this sort of practice, just venting my frustration at a glimmer of hope, which may turn out to be nothing more than an advertisment.  So let us all take the time to breath and think it through before we click on 'enter', in hopes of avoiding these self invited, momentary lapses of judgement.  After all, we would not go to a website that we knew was a cookie monster or known phisher. If we won't put our computers at risk, why would we do so with our personal information?

P.S. During the endless rant, I received a call from a placement service that found my resume on Monster.com.  She is acting on behalf of a employer to recruit someone who has roughly the same credentials that I have.  Let's see how this works out.  She would not relate the name of the company to me either.

I too received a call from this 213-325-3204 and I only got a recording asking me to hold and hold and hold and hold. I gave up. If the verification process is true, the companies using this service need to know about it. I can only imagine all of the qualified applicants that these hiring companies may have lost due to such a poor service. Be careful in your job search. It appears that the educational solicitors are quite clever. Word of warning, NEVER give your social security number or ID verifying infor like your mother's maiden name, etc.

Okay, here's the deal.  Don't worry once Veriresume has called you.  Worry once you've post your information/resume on a job search site.  They get your info because you posted it.  Even if you make your resume private and so that only employers can see it, they can get to it because Veriresume is an "employer", or at least they pay the fees so that they can look at resumes.  They have outsourced people who pull your info from these postings then they make up bogus jobs and waste your time trying to get you to agree to get "free" information from such universities as the University of Pheonix, which they make a comission for everytime someone agrees to it because then you become a lead that they generated.  All you have to do is say No and they cannot give your info to the University of Phoenix or anyone else.  Not legally. Oh, and by the way, the Universities that they work for are aware of how they get your info because they wrote the script, every bit of it including the part about them "verifying" your information.

I mean come on.  Has any emplyer ever asked you if you can receive text messages on your phone?  What the F*** kind of question is that.  I feel bad for the people that they call because these people are legitimately looking for work and most of them have no idea that the job is bogus.  They have even created fake companies in order to create more fake jobs.  It's just a way for them to get around the Do Not Call List.

I called back just for the fun and asked her who she is she said she can only tell me if I give her my correct phone number as I gave her a false number. I told her its nice that you work for a scam company and she started laughing...GUTS!

I just received a call from this number, didn't answer it because I didn't recognize it.  I googled it!  Thanks for the scam heads up!!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM.  Don't listen to the posts from "VeriResume Employee" on this board; a REAL company would have their PR reps doing the damage control.  

I got a call from this number today.  I applied for a Non-Profit Coordinator job on either CareerBuilder or Hotjobs...and apparently, it was a scam.  They had me fill out some application info on jobspositionpro.com, and then two days later (today!) I got the call from 213-325-3204.  I spoke with Autumn, who wanted to "verify my personal info".  I went through with it, still not quite aware it was a scam until afterward.  I got an email from VeriResume immediately afterward, asking me to verify my information on their Web site.

I just posted a report on ripoffreport.com and hopefully it'll show up on the site soon.  

I called the number back and waited for "Autumn" to answer; I told her to purge my info from the system.  Autumn said she removed all of my information, and then ended the call.  It's now been two hours, and I'm going to dial back right now and give them my phone number to see if they still have my info....

2. Ringing...
3. "Employment Select provides screening services, blah blah etc...A Verification Specialist will be with you shortly..."
4. Jammin' to muzak...
5. "Mike" answers.  "Can I have your phone number please?" (I give it to him)
6. HE IMMEDIATELY HAS MY INFORMATION.

Even though I told "April" to delete it, "Mike" was able to pull up my name two hours later.  Don't trust these guys.  I told "Mike" to delete my information, and he told me that he could only "mark me as uninterested".  I told him again to delete all traces of my information, and he responded with "look, dear, I just work at a call center.  I can't do that."

DEAR!?!

Don't trust these guys.

I got a call as well, they wanted to verify the info I filled in on their site, which I later learned is exactly the same as a few other sites, and the owner of these sites seems to have something to hide, see whois info below.  They wanted to know if I could get text messages on my cell, which I have better not get any texts from them, then they wanted to give me info on higher education, it seems like some sort of scam, but there is not high pressure, it just smells of a scam.


Why are nearly all of these jobs scams?

I have been starting to look for a job because I plan on relocating so that my children can go to better schools.  Anywho, needless to say like many of you I have submitted my resume to many well known websites (i.e. Monster, hotjobs, careerbuilder), as well as a fellow craiglister (I check craigslist several times a day).  I came to this website because someone decided to post this website on craigslist talking about this scam.  
Like many of you I have applied to many of those ads, and received the email directing me to fill out an application (which asked the same information that is on my resume) and ask those questions.  I jumped through the hoops thinking that this is how they keep there website free.  Now that little voice in the back of my head was right.  Hats off to the person who put the alert out on craigslist.  Like many I do not take calls from unknown numbers.  I feel that these job sited should do more to protect us from these frauds and scams.  NOW TO THE EMPLOYEE WHY WHOULD YOU NEED TO VERIFY THIS INFORMATION FOR A 3RD(THRID) TIME.
FYI.  I have noticed on craigslist that on some of the postings that there seems to be some writing in the areas that was blank, so I selected all the text and noticed there is fine print on the majority of the ads directing you to another website.
I do feel that they should be sued, someone should check into a class action lawsuite.  I would love to know how many people that they so called varified actually got a job.  I would love to see anyone who received a call from these people and actually was hired to post.

It's Ellen again; I posted a few days ago too.  I just called back AGAIN, and even after calling them THREE TIMES telling them to delete my information, they STILL had my information on file!  (It's really easy to find out -- you call, give them your number, and then they'll say "Is this (insert name here)?" -- it's a pretty simple way to see if you're still in their system.  Anyway, I was able to talk to a manager named Mike today who promised to completely purge all of my information out of their system.  I'll call back again in a week and post the results on this board to see if they REALLY followed through with their promise.  Innocuous or not, this phone number smells of a scam and I don't want a thing to do with it.

I just got a call from these stupid people. Thanks to this site I didnt call back. For anyone on the fence about them, they said they were calling me to verify information about a job application I submitted online. Thing is, I haven't submitted any applications online. I am moderately happy where I am working, and only apply for jobs every blue moon. I only look for jobs every blue moon, or from word of mouth that someone is hiring. Most likely the last time I applied for a job was January 2008. Unsure if it was online, and like other posters here, they called my cell and gave no company name.

I received a call from this number a few days ago.  As I am currently looking for a job in another area, and had submitted multiple resumes, I figured that it was a response to a submission.  I was told that it was an automated recording from what seemed like an employment agency, and sat on hold for about five minutes.  The phone call disconnected before anyone spoke to me.  I attempted to call back three times (in the morning, afternoon, and evening). Each time I was on hold for a few minutes and was disconnected before anyone actually spoke to me.  I have not received any unsolicited phone calls since.

If only that were true.Rip-Off-Report is about as useless as they come. All the guy who runs that does is allow people to put up their posts about being ripped off, and then charge the companies an exorbitant amount of money to have it pulled down as part of his "Corporate Advocacy Program." Other than that, he doesn't really care if you've been ripped off or not. He doesn't ask for your information to really be part of any class action lawsuits, he does it so when he's sued he can prove you're a real person rather than himself.

The reality is these guys calling you aren't breaking any laws. There's nothing you can do about them except not give them your business.

Well we all need to find out who this is and file a lawsuit against them.  First if an educational institution contacts you; demand that they tell you how they got your number and if they are affiliated with this number in any way. My time is valuable too and it is frustrating enough to be struggling and out of work then be harassed through false hope that finally you may have a chance to recover your life again with gainful employment.  They do this crap on Craigslist jobs too.

I think it is against the law.  Lets call it using a telecommunications network for the purpose of commiting fraud and inflicting personal harrassment on innocent people. These calls also use you cell phone minutes as well and that's costing you money.

Has anyone gain employment after getting screened by veriresume? Yes or no
Because I applied for a job that I wanted for a long time and was excited to get the call from veriresume.  They told me that I successfully completed the first phase of the verification process and that I will be receiving a call in about 5 days for a interview.  Its been 6 days already.

I thought this was a legit call because my wife just got hired at a great company that used a verification company called "hireright".
The main difference I notice between the two was the seriousness.  Because hireright had my wife faxing proof of work history and other documents. She got called for the interview and landed the best job of her life.

Is veriresume a legit company with bad habits or a scam?
