Phoney Toner people and scam artists are still trying the same old tricks.  The get some stupid person to go back to the copier and give them the make and model number.  They verify address and start shipping toner and other copier supplies at highly inflated prices hoping that no one will notice that the bills are being paid from another source.  These people should be stopped.

They are still out there making these calls.  The new thing is to try to send you a new manual for your copier.  I love messing with these morons when they call however they seem to hang up much faster now than in the past.

Received a call from the toner scammers. They asked how many toners we have in stock and how the pries are going up. Once he knew that I knew he was a scammer he called me every name in the book. He called me a b!tch, and a lot of other words that I dont even want to type. It was REAL BAD!!! He continued to call back 4 times and continue the name calling. These people are horrible, I don't know how they can go about thier day knowing what they tell people over the phone.

Do not give these folks the IDs or any of the other information they are asking for.  They attempt to garner additional information from whatever they can give you, then send supplies you didn't order.  And then continue to send them and send and send.  Before you know it, you'll be getting collection calls on merchandise you never ordered.

This number called me this morning about our toner, saying that since it is 'petroleum-based' (I don't even know if that's true) the cost of the toner was going to be going up by $30 and he wanted to get an order in for us before that happened.  He had our correct copier brand, but I was immediately suspicious because he asked for me by name; I have been in the office the least amount of time and have absolutely nothing to do with supplies or ordering.  I was pretty sure it was a scam, but I asked if he would call back later (so I could check with my co-workers).  I advised the office that he would probably be calling, so when he called back he asked for me again but my co-worker told him that I was unavailable and we are fine on toner.  He got sassy with her and she hung up on him.  He called back immediately from a 'Private Number' and I answered; he started going on about how rude she was to him (which I know was false since she sits right next to me).  I went the polite route and I said that we weren't interested, we had plenty of toner and do not need anymore.  No sooner had the words left my mouth than he said back "Thanks for your order; we will get them shipped out immediately!"  I said I hadn't placed an order, but it was too late he had already hung up.  We plan on returning them to sender when/if they ever show up.

Just received a call at work from this number.  The lady who called said she was with the copier service and wanted to asked for the number on the back of my copier.  When I asked her what service she was with, she first said "the copier service".  When I asked again, she said Grand Rapids.  Then she got snotty with me and asked if I was the person who did the ordering for toner.  I said no but I need to know what company she was with, she rudely said she needs to speak to the person who orders the toner.  That's the point where I hung up.  I've fortunately had calls like this before, where they call acting like they're already handling something for us, and if you give them the information they're "verifying", you'll end up getting something sent to you as if you actually ordered it, which is why I was quizzing her.  Good thing I did, judging from previous comments here!

Rude young lady phoned asking for the model number on the copier.  When asked which copier, she responded with the big one.  Then asked if I was the one that took care of ordering the supplies for the copier.  When I tried to get the name of the company she was with, she hung up the phone.

I work at a small office with only 1 copier and we service it ourselves. In the past 3 day these "copier people" have called and ask for the number on the machine. The fist two people were alright when I told them not thanks.  Then today a younger kid calls and asks the same thing, I tell him that I have asked to be removed fro the call list and that we don't have a copier. He then gets upset and tell me "Then why did you let me get through the whole pitch" and I replied why do you keep calling when my answer is the same. He interrupted me in the middle and said " Cause your a F@$king Idiot, that's why" and hung up the phone.

These people are disgusting! If something seems fishy that means it probably is! Keep your guard up when it comes to people who won't reveal any information about themselves.

Brian Adams from Office Support Systems contacted me months ago (roughly sometime in August of 2010). He lead me to believe that he's affiliated with Xerox (we have a Xerox copier) and has toner for a reduced price, and the offer will not last long so I should place an order to save the company money. I unfortunately bought into it ($798 plus shipping and handeling, what a rip off!).I was under the impression that I'd receive one single package of toner, pay the invoice (unfortunately we did) and that would be that so to speak. Months later (Nov. 2010) I received an unexpected second package of toner that another employee signed for (I was out sick. Had I been present, I would have refused to sign for the package). I called and spoke with customer service which lead to eventually getting connected with Brian Adams.I explained to him that I was not expecting a second delivery and would like to return the toner, especially since we already have several that haven't been used just yet. Brian claimed that what I agreed to is a package set up (you receive two toners), that's the way it works;therefore I cannot return the toner. He then acknowledged that someone should have explained this to me and offered to take 25% off the invoice as a result; asked for my fax number so he can fax the invoice. I spoke with him again about the matter and he blamed me since I was the one that placed an order. He also said that "we don't do charity cases." He also claims that he did not speak to me initially. I don't think we should have to pay period. In fact, we should be refunded for the first rip off and the second invoice; we should have no obligation to pay on the basis of deceptive sales practices. I've complained to the attorney general as well as the Better Business Bureau, and Federal Trade Commission may be the next point of contact. What is really sketchy is I can't seem to find a website for them, no email address and the location address I've initially seen is as follows: P.O. Box 93552 Los Angeles, CA 90093. Telephone: 877-333-4320; Fax: 877-333-4319. Another address has popped up for them through research (CA BBB): 1013 Madrid Ave Torrance, CA 90501. On top of that, I noticed a third address (shipping):1618 N. Las Palmas Ave Los Angeles, CA 90028 Also, they are only open 7am to 1pm during the work week. After I filed a complaint with BBB, another scam artist called to ask what the company name is (wouldn't you know in the first place!?). The number popped up as 213-537-1910. I called back to see who it was and got a busy signal as if it's disconnected. I don't think it would be far fetched to assume those [***] are associated with OSS and are trying to scam our company once again! I still can't believe I fell for this. Typically I can tell when a call is from a telemarketer trying to rip you off. Please learn from my naitivity! Don't give out your name, better yet, don't give out the company name either if you see a strange number! Hang up on them! And don't accept packages from them if they try to send you toner you did not order anyway!

In my experience, these people are toner bandits / scam artists trying to swindle you.  This organization cold calls falsely identifying themself as a major printer/copier manufacture in an attempt to sell/send toner stating the price is going up but that they can lock you in at a low rate if you act today.  Even after repeated request for them to stop calling explaining you have a maintenance agreement that includes toner they continue to call.  Real or fictitious the cold callers have identified themself as; Chris, Daniel, David, Eric, Graham, James, Jason, Rick, Steve, Taylor, Todd, to name a few.  When asking for a call back number the caller is typically rude and insulting toward the call recipient before hanging up but if you are fortunate enough the call back number they do provide (213-537-1910) will not accept inbound calls.  It is wise not divulge any information to them and consider taking the following steps:

    1. Capture as much detailed information about the call as possible and provide to local law enforcement
      • Date/Time of call
      • Telephone number of inbound call
      • Telephone number call was received on
      • Callers name, title and employer name
      • Etc.

    2. Register your phone numbers with the National Do Not Call Registry

Got a call from these people, saying they were from "direct distribution"?, asking about the model number on our copier, because they were sending out new user manuals.  My coworkers said it was a scam, and I told her that she had the wrong number.

I received a call today from this number advising that a new manual for our copier has been reprinted because there was an error in the manual.  The caller said she did not know what the error was.  I asked her if she was with RJ Young (our local copy company) to which she replied "yes."  I gave her the model number of our copier and she said we would receive the new manual in two weeks.  After we hung up, I tried calling the number back and got a fast busy signal.

These people have already called us twice today -- they are extremely rude. After I answer the line, a rude woman almost shouts "Who am I speaking to!!!"  -- does not say hello or identify herself.  They are apparently toner pirates -- no one should give them any information and probably should hang up on them immediately! (our company was ripped off by similar toner pirates for approximately $8000.00 -- for a handful of toner cartridges!).
