Portland, Oregon area:  Just got a call from this number - said they were sending out the new manual for our copier.  When I said we had many copiers, who did they usually speak to, she hung up.  When I tried to call the number back, it was a fast busy. These people are a plague! What is "SMS" in the Call Type choices below?  And "Fraud" should be a choice!

A rude lady called and asked me for the model number on my copy machine.  Sounds like a scam to me.

They call everyday and I tell them to remove my number from their list adn never call again.  They are rude they either say some smart ass reply or just hang up and call again the next day.  When I try to call back and get a Manager the line is always busy and I can not get through.  How do I get them to stop calling.

TOTAL SCAM!  "Rick from the copier" calls us about 3 times a week.  He has told me everything from "get back to work, stupid" to calling me a "[***]" just because I won't give him the copier info.  Since I have been dealing with "Rick" for a few years now, I've started having some fun with him.  Whenever I see "Private" on the caller I.D., I answer with something like "Hey Rick! Go [***] yourself!"  One of my coworkers once fell for the scam and we received an $800 toner.  We were able to contact some one named "Bob Stevens" from "ITC Tech Products" but he would never leave a phone number and had to wait for him to call us back in order to get all the return information.  We DID return the toner without paying for it.

I wonder how much these low lives get paid...

Same deal here, told that they are the customer service dept and are calling about service on our copier. I told her "Yea right, weve never had our copier "serviced". please take us off your list" and she tells me to "Shut up".

SO this guy calls and says, 'hi, I'm calling about your copier supplies" and I didn't reply... (hee hee) so he said, 'hello? hello?' and I said, 'yeah, what do you want?' and he said, 'are you the office on 17th street?' and I said, 'no, and please remove this number from your list' and he yelled, "[***]!!!' and hung up!

I called the number back and it was a rapid busy signal... I love to try to torture these idiots back!!

why do I find this hard to believe???

When I get calls like this I tell them we have a Herokima 4000 - they are puzzled and then I tell them they are a scam.
Last time I did this and hung up on them  - they called back and called me a B**ch - The entire office has been laughing all day.

I am going to tell them it's a model "Yu-scam-elswhar POS"   Wish I had that one ready when one of these jerks called me a few minutes ago.

Im assuming fraud, i live in quebec and they want to buy something that i have on kijiji and they are offering an extra 300$ for an 100$ item!!!

I work at a hospital. I answered the phone this afternoon and was told " This is Josh from Customer Service. I need the 3 numbers off the front of your copier to update the manual" I replied " Who?" He then said that he needed the numbers off the Ricoh copier to update the service manual. I said we do not have a Ricoh copier and hung up.( My scam alert went up would they not know the machine if they were customer service) The phone rang again i picked it up and was treated to a variety of insults referring to various body parts and calling me a word that rhymed with witch. I said back at you baby and hung up. Unfortunately we do not have call display but reading the way the other people described the calls they received I would assume that it was the same bunch of charmers.
