What they want to do is get you to use team viewer.com and that will let them take control over your PC. Now team viewer is nice to use if you have a trusted friend and you actually do need help but DONT DO IT WITH ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW, THEY WILL GET ALL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND POSSIBLY YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO AND BANK INFORMATION

    Scammer Abuser replies to MarkyMark
Same story, sort of. Day one was yesterday, my 12 year old son answered....told 'em to eat a turd and never call again.
Day two, today, son answered, same "Neil Thomas" thick Eastern Euro accent, call showed "wireless caller". Scammer tells me he's with the "Computer Maintenance department"...lulz. I played along a bit, then gave him the what for and hung up. Moron calls back, asking for "person....abuse last...call" I ask for "Bob", tell him that "Bob" has stolen my luggage. He asks for name...I tell him It's Robert, Robert Hope. Ask if he likes Golf. He asks "..is computer is on?" I begin to quote Homer's Illiad. He asks me to press the Windows start button + hold letter "R" at the same time...(Ques-does that allow them to access the CMD window?)
I finish up by speaking Korean mixed with Russian and German.

    Oddly, he hung up.

i also received a call from this number, several times, as well as an 800 number.  Every time it's a "Microsoft Technician" advising me my laptop was not accepting windows updates.  i told him to stop calling and i would contact Microsoft directly.

Got this call from a man with an Indian accent who said he was from the Computer Maintenance Department.  Suspected a scam where callers are targeting this city to steal information from their computer while claiming to help you fix your computer.
    • Caller: Computer Maintenance Dept
    • Call type: Telemarketer

My caller ID said school district. Under another site it stated hackers trying to get into your computer.
The scammers may be based in India or the Middle East.

“These scammers are trying to gain access to personal computers, claiming they will load anti-virus software,” Burton said. “In reality, the scammers want to install a virus that gives them full access to your machine.”

I wished I did answer the phone, next time I will and blow a whistle or something. Hate these kind of people

Why does "report it' or "reporting this" do absolutely nothing! I have listed a complaint with DoNotCall.Gov and my online privacy service and nothing works. I have finally blocked it, but as usual, the consumer is the one that is screwed. I have received this call three times now, twice to the cell and once to the landline, though this number 215-487-9212. I do not understand if it is known that the call is originating from Philadelphia, and I can pull up a map that indicates the possible location, that nothing is being done. They are now moving into the harassment level that USED to actually mean something ... you can look that up in an old phone book. And the best part is: I haven't owned a PC/Microsoft product since 1998.
