I received a call from this # at 11:26 a.m. eastern time. I was on the road and since I did not recognize the number I did not answer.  There was no voice mail and curious I googled this number, I'm glad I did. If this joker calls my phone again I will be better prepared to answer the call.

He called my co-workers phone first.  As soon as she repeated the number, I received the call.  I allowed him to go through his script.  I put the call on speaker phone so my co-workers could here it.  After he asked for my bank account or credit card info, I told him that I was authorizing him to transfer the funds to his bank account or credit card or his choice.  It is afterall Christmas!  He then said something I couldn't understand, so I asked him if he thought I was a F'ing idiot?  Why in the hell would I give him my account information?  He need to take that scam on to the next person and wished him a blessed day and happy holidays!

Received a call from a foreign accent person said i would receive $9000 from the Federal Government. I started asking him questions, which bamboozled him.  He said "Go to hell" and hung up

who gives a [***]. I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't pick up. End of story

Got a call from 233-333-3333 a guy with a heavy indan/[***] accent.   He said "I am sure you are wondering how is it that you are being given this money?" and I said "are you from Nigeria?" there was a pause and he hung up.

I just got a call from the same number on my cell. I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize it and they didn't leave a message. I thought the number was strange and googled it and I'm glad I didn't answer. Funny thing is I'm 17, and don't have any bank account info.

Same $9000 Gov't scam. I was about to give him an earful about the stupid [***] gov't giving money away to trip him up, but he just hung up.

middle eastern guy, maybe late 20's. Something about $9000. I made him hang up on me.

It doesnt matter how many times people complain about this because nothing will be done about it. I myself just got a call but I didnt answer. This site is a waste of f*&#&n time.

Just received call from this number.  Went through the story of I had been chosed to receive $$$$$'s tax free.  Knew right away....had to be a scam and I hung up.  Where did he get my cell #?

I got the same call from this number yesterday. I didn't answer the phone. I logged into my cell phone company's account and blocked the number.

Got a call from this number asking me if i was Mr Obama, then started asking questions that i could not understand

A guy with an Indian accent called my child's cell phone today, repeatedly, from this number.  He said he was from the "federal government," and asked my child how old he was. Of course, he did not oblige him with that info, and after we told the man not to bother us, he proceeded to curse us out. Then, he kept calling. Most disturbingly, he then called MY cell phone number, but did not speak to me.  "233" is not a U.S. area code, it is a country code, from Ghana. I hope someone tracks this joker down.

Just got a call from this number. The lady with a very heavy Indian accent said since I didn't have a criminal record with no bankruptcy filings that I was awarded a $9000 grant from the US Government. I told them that I was bankrupt and they hung up.

Got this call this day 1/3/13, From Washington D,C.(?) offering me a US Government Grant for $9000.
I was told I did not have to pay it back.  I hung up on him (with the bad accent).

I got a call from this number saying I was selected to receive $5000 for paying bills on time. He was initially really rude even though I wasn't being rude. He kept talking and repeating himself so I thought that he was trying to scam me by sucking information out of my phone or something. I hung up.

Why do people do this? And how is it worth their while?!

Two of us just got a call from this number. Didn't answer because it looked suspicious. Can't someone put a stop to these scams?!?

Some one with a Pakastani accent said  the US Government wants to give me $9000.  My government does not give money like a lottery so i gave them a phoney address. 1/4/2013
