Just watched Dateline and it was FABULOUS. Log onto their website for all the information. They will be doing another show on it next Sunday.

NBC had a profile on about this company.....they are just bunch of convicted criminals ...why is the government not closing them down

They're not closing them down because the government doesn't care. They don't care about the auto industry or the banks or predatory lenders. They've basically passed laws over the past 30 years that legitimized these guys. Gone are the "independent" loan sharks. In come the corporate loan sharks. This was the plan for Reaganomics - to make these guys legitimate. The Credit Cards, the Casinos, the war profiteers, the Insurance companies, the Lottery - all given more power and made more and more legal in more and more states. Meanwhile unions and worker protections and consumer protections have been chipped away at. Had Obama not gotten elected (and who knows if even he will make a difference) these guys (McCain and Phil Gramm) would probably have turned drug running and prostitution into a corporate business.

This company is a scam.  They are about a 100 days away from getting shut down by the FTC and all its employees getting thrown in jail.

The Feds are gonna shut this racket down and send all its employees, including its hoodlum owner, to prison.

And just to be clear, collectors cannot do WHATEVER THEY WANT. They absolutely are entitled to what a person owes them but, there are laws that protect us from being harassed. When a company does not abide by these laws, they are absolutely OUT OF LINE.  Boylan's company is impersonating law enforcement which is ILLEGAL. The only reason the maryland police department cannot get them is because it is not within their jurisdiction. But do not be misled, what they are doing is ILLEGAL. DO NOT GIVE THEM A DIME.

Hopefully dateline's documentary will stir up some controversy so that Boyaln and his hummer (that people scared out of their minds have paid for), are taken off the street once again!

all of your are so dramatic, if you know they cant attack you that way than why are you people so scared and annoyed. i understand that there is different circumstances, but 99% of debtors never intended on paying their debts back now thats what i deal with all day, and these are debts that were owed BEFORE the economy got bad. That excuse is convienient now isnt it?! The money goes in the right place otherwise he would've been shut down immediately has anyone that paid Mr. Boyland said that the money they paid for their debt didnt get put towards the debt they owed? NO. I have debts of my own, but if someone is harrassing me I dont complain because I know they have every right to. If a close friend owed you money how would you handle it? Would you be very accomadating to him? DOUBT IT. lol

If you ever call me on the phone trying to collect a debt, I will cuss at you until my phone battery dies.  I will never pay you a penny.

And yes, I will take my chances with court, because most of the debt collectors will never file a lawsuit.  It is so much cheaper to just call people on the phone.  

And it is stupid to pay a junk debt buyer anything.  They will just keep coming after you even after you have paid the debt off.  They are corrupt and they lie all the time.

In the rare event that they actually file a lawsuit against you, you can fight it in court, and even if you lose, you will at least have a court document that says exactly how much you owe, so if you pay it off, that will be the end of that debt.  And always keep in mind that civil judgments are easy to get rid of through filing chapter 7 bankruptcy.

I notice that they don't answer their phones anymore when I call them.  They are all scared now.

They were so tough, threatening to throw people in jail, but now, they know they might be heading to jail themselves.

I want to get them on tape so I can give the recording of them making false statements about being the police and about throwing me in jail to the government authorities, so they will have more evidence to use against them in court.

This company is shady and is being investigated by New York and federal police for fraud.  They are a collection agency that uses illegal tactics to get people to wire money to an "attorney."  They were part of a recent Dateline NBC story on debt.  DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO ANYONE CALLING FROM THIS AGENCY.  DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ARREST.  THEY ARE LIARS AND PREYING ON PEOPLE.

Well Bob such strong words....hating me for speaking the truth...call these people all day and you would be cynical too. I promise. But I'm on the fence I never said what they do is right. I'll tell u that I think this is all the credit card companies fault..if you give someone enough rope they will choke themselves with it. They offer people way too much credit without people proving they can handle the high limits. They should discriminate who they give it to. This is why the economy is in the hole (partly). They give these people settlements and what are they really profiting from then? But they need collectors because how else can they stress to people that owe money to pay back? Letters are easy as [***] to ignore. Oh well.

Cara, sweetheart;  please listen to me. Gather up some of your things, clothes some personal items and your medications and go check yourself into a rehab place. Do not take any drugs with you.That's what is wrong !
They will be able to help you if you give them a chance. Do some soul searching for yourself and think about where you are in your life and if that is where you really want to be. When you have an answer----do away with yourself--you are a waste of skin and a burden on the people around you.

For everyone who saw Cara's response you need to notice a few things.  First, her grammar is so poor that it shows she is probally a welfare hoochie queen that works for Mr. Boyland as one of his nasty, skank @**, dollar sucking pole dancers.  Two, if they really had any power to do anything to anyone they would have done it already.  You would have seen a report on one of your credit reports indicating negative information.  Three, just ask them to come get you and let the chips fall where they may.  DA's, Judges, and the like only go after crimes against their respective state.  They do not get involved in civil matters unless the state has an actual loss.  These folks called me and I read them the riot act about harrassment and threats.  Afterwards my phone has been silent.  If more people spread the word about these maggots they will go away.  If anyone gets a call from these people they should contact their local police departments and file a complaint.  The problem is that on one really wants to do anything about it because the actual crime is outside of their area of responsibility.  This is the time we need good old wild west justice.  We could all get a posse together, ride to where ever these dirtbags are, and have us a good ole' azz whuppin' party.  If everyone they threatned got a chance to thump on them for a bit they would leave town in a hurry.  Take care all and keep spreading the word about these s*&^birds.

Banks don't loan people money, they just create "credit" from nothing and charge interest on top of that. How is that not immoral in itself, especially when the gov't shoves trillions and trillions in their lap in bailouts and leaves the public holding the bag?

If I owe money to someone like a mechanic, I'll do anything I can to pay them back. The banks however, screw 'em. I'll never pay them a dime and will never do business with them again. The banks, credit reporting agencies, and debt collection industry in their current form are a major cancer to society.

I hope you consider a career change and get out of that industry to do your part and make the world a better place.
