I too get calls from this number.  There are four right now sitting in the missed calls on my cell phone log.  The last one came at 9:43 pm.  Personally people, I think the Federal Do Not Call list is a joke.  I get more calls than ever.  Those calls that I do answer (I use my cell for my business so I usually answer it) are offering me a GREAT DEAL on something I don't want anyway or a survey about something or other.  I too have put these numbers in my cell as "Telemarketer" so I don't get fooled twice, but my cell's address book is getting full of them.  What makes these companies who harass people like this think it not only OK to do this but profiting them in some way?  Are there that many gullible people out there that they can con?

2 nights in a row they have called me. Thank you to everyone else that posted for the telemarketer number 281-825-4339. I am tried of jumping for the phone to see Texas calling me at night. Please, can't somebody do something about this? So much for the "DO NOT CALL LIST"

Missed call from them this evening, around 6PM. Problem was, when I called back the outgoing message that greeted me did say they were a political research group, and he stated that he hoped that, next time they called (a thinly veiled threat to continue bugging me, methinks) that I would be a willing participant in their survey. There was no way to be discontinued, so I guess we'll all suffer more bills with these morons until someone who can do something about it cares enough to DO something. I guess we need more government after all. At least for this.

Googled this number and found this website.  They have called me for two days now.  So glad I found this post, so I never answered.  Today, they have called every couple hours.  Has anyone tried playing an obnoxious sound into the phone when you answer?  I'm tempted.  At the very least, I'll give this number its own ringtone so I know that I don't need to even reach for the phone.

They called on a Sunday afternoon. Did not answer!

You may think that this is a legitimate call/company.  However, "legitimate" companies don't place calls to residences at 9:35 at night.  Just received a call from 281-825-4339 and the called identified himself as being from "The Torrance Group".  I asked what that was, and who was funding it.  No answer.  Then I asked him, "well, then who pays your salary"  and he replied that he really didn't know.  So I told him that if he was to ignorant to know who employs him, then he didn't deserve to ask me any questions.  And I told him to take my name/number off his list.  What jerks.

Got a call on Monday at 7:09, but didn't answer. I figured it was a telemarketer call. Googled it and found this page. Thanks for all your comments. Now I know what to say if I was to answer.

I just got a call on my cell phone...SUSPECT.   Looked it up...THANKS!!  It will now go on my Verizon block call list.

How do we stop these?

I use a Black List app on my phone and will put this number on it ASAP. It seems to be political survey firm, which I like about as I like bill collectors.

My husband answered this...by the way, political calls are  not on the do not call list////they are allowed.  This is a typical Repub caller who tries to slam one or more of your Democratic candidates...this also happened in 2010...I would not give them any info if I were you!

I do not want to receive messages from this number.

Voter Consumer Research is involved in the public opinion research business. We contact people on behalf of a variety of clients, but we always do so to measure public opinion on a specific topic or issue, not to sell anything. We are not a marketing or sales organization.
How did you get my number?

We obtain lists from a variety of vendors who themselves purchase, compile and maintain lists in their own ways. However, most of our telephone lists fall into two broad categories: voter lists and RDD (Random Digit Dialing) lists.

Voter lists are typically compiled by state bodies such as a Secretary of State or Board of Elections and are available for purchase. RDD dialing is more complicated, but essentially involves taking a known working "block" of telephone numbers and then randomly generating new numbers from them. The main advantage of RDD dialing is in reaching households with unlisted phone numbers.

Jeez.  I get a call at least once a week,  usually around 9 PM MDT which irks me.  No one is ever on the line when/if I answer.   I have not called them back, nor shall I.  Happy someone has told me they are a so-called voter reserch survey organization.  Bah Humbug.  Wish there was a way to penalize them or take their phone away from them.
