Ihave had about 5 calls from this number.  I will not answer calls that say unknown name or private call, and this is why, very annoying.

Bad enough I get calls on my landline but this one was to my cell. I keep that number quite guarded so I immediately knew this was spam.  Grrrr

Called this number tonight from my landline. It said I was invited to participate in a survey!!  Not a mention of who they are or who they represent.

Just got 2 calls from the same number, so fast I could not answer. 1 289 301 2259 (also reported 289 301 2258 ) WIKIPEDIA states: Area code 905 (with overlay area codes 289 and 365) is a telephone dialing area in southern Ontario, Canada. It  includes the Niagara Peninsula, Hamilton, Oshawa, and the suburban greater TORONTO area. The incumbent local exchange carrier for these area codes is BELL CANADA, which acquired the remaining  independent company around 1980  >>Markham: (289)-301 (Metropolitan TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA ) This call was to my ROGERS CELL phone in OTTAWA ( the Capital of CANADA) Ontario.  ROGERS WIRELESS  has been delivering illegal, fraudulent, malicious, fake, calls from Colorado, Nevada, Washington etc. in the  United States,British Columbia, and now in Canada. These malicious calls are being delivered to my Pay-As-You-Go  Cell Phones, which, for each incoming or outgoing call, I PAY ( and pay and pay). ROGERS WIRELESS, here in  Canada, charges for WHOLE MINUTES, so  ("You have won a free vacation", "As a valued ROGERS CUSTOMER, you have  been chosen", "This is a 5 minute survey, to remove yourself from the survey, Press #09... ") etc. (( note that  #09 or #90 are PBX switch codes to allow the illegal caller to use YOUR number to make free long distance  calls))...  a 5 second hang up ... costs me ONE FULL MINUTE, Prime time, often INTERNATIONAL ! There is NO  incentive for Rogers to shut down the illegal spammers - Rogers, with the Sales, Marketing, and Advertising  departments cheering, makes MONEY... lots of money.... And, like the daily barrage of illegal, malicious,  fraudulent spam in your Internet " IN-BOX" , the spammers make money as well. With millions of hits a day, all  they need are 00.5% of people to fall for each SCAM, to make 10's of thousands a day $ $ $ ! ! It used to be -- in the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, that if the phone rang, - you ANSWERED IT!, now, as more and  more people report, they automatically DO NOT ANSWER any calls, unless there is a Call Display showing a person  they know. We now live in terror, reminded daily, by corporations like ROGERS, that large Corporations stoop to  ANY tactics for MONEY ! ROGERS Wireless, that brags in commercials that it can bring you LIVE, ONLINE video of  your home (from many security cameras all around your property), TV, Videos, Youtube,  chats, maps, GPS, etc. states, when I ask about it, that "CALL_DISPLAY" of the printed NAME of the caller is  " NOT POSSIBLE ".... er, um, really? - "NOT  POSSIBLE?"  Gee, maybe in amongst the VIDEOS, TV, Home surveillance VIDEOS (where you can open and close your garage door,  SEE the person ringing the doorbell and TALK to them!), Youtube, online INTERNET PAGES, complete with ANIMATIONS  AND PHOTOGRAPHS, etc., some technical wizard at ROGERS could figure how to get a simple printed NAME to show up  - wow, -- we have men on the moon, and pictures from Mars delivered directly to your cell phone instantly as NASA decodes  them, but it is " NOT POSSIBLE" to get a simple " NAME" on a cell phone.... golly.... After the fake "911" terror,  and the subsequent recall of ALL Rights, Freedoms, and Liberties in both Canada, and the United States, we are  now terrorized daily, with a reminder of Corporate greed and two-faced technical wizardry - amazing "can -do"  v.s. pathetic, simple, "NOT POSSIBLE!" ( It seems that if it makes money "to-do" something , it IS possible,  yet, if it makes money-- "not-to-do" something,, then it is suddenly, "NOT_POSSIBLE" to do (( with associated  profits increasing)) -- . . .seems to be a theme here....)  There is fodder for a long, long, customer review of Cell Phones, Cell phone "PROVIDERS", and malicious use of  technology-for-profit, and I hope this teeny comment spurs some technical writer into action....
Perhaps someday, in the distant future, when we are using our CEL phones ( note that CEL phones are not CELL phones, -- CEL Phones are CELESTIAL phones, to contact your family and friends on the MOON colonies, the orbiting SPACE colonies, and the colonies on MARS...) we will hear about the NEW and Exciting breakthrough from ROGERS - they will have figured out how to get a NAME ( characters of the alphabet ) to  show up on your phone! Amazing, outstanding - technology of the future at its best!
 This "RANT" is brought to you by your friendly, fellow citizen, in Canada, ( Woe, Canada!, the False North,  Weak, EN-Slaved  -- (( A re-do of the Anthem from the 1950's that said "Oh Canada! - The TRUE North, Strong and  Free")),), who is terrorized daily, as every conceivable ploy is perpetrated to curtail any semblance of Democracy and Freedom, and replace it with fear, terror, control, and Corporate supremacy, guided by a happy government of  wealthy elite.
According to WIKIPEDIA, BELL CANADA is in charge of the Computer controlled SPAM center in MARKHAM Ontario, just outside of the TORONTO core, and BELL would profit from the thousands and thousands of calls made by the computer diallers. Thus BELL Canada is well aware of the malicious nature of the call CENTER, but, the call Center PAYS big bucks for the telecommunications TRUNK, and the long distance unlimited calling "package". On a dozen web sites are hundreds of people from Vancouver, British Columbia, all across Canada, right through to Newfoundland... And ROGERS is well aware of the Spam center numbers, ( many people state that they called ROGERS about the
fake calls ), but, again, "SOMEONE" 'pays' ROGERS for each and every call, so 'more calls' is "more money'... Neither Bell Canada, nor Rogers have ANY incentive to stop the malice... Money talks!

Caller: computer dialler, recorded message, rarely actual person, usually hangs up, return calls state "This number is not in service"...
Call Type: Survey- wanting credit card info, Free cruise demanding your Credit card info, or fake Bank of Montreal -wanting Credit info.

Obviously going on a year and the number is still calling. Just got a call today from it.

Dont call again have ID and I will never answer. Dont waste your time

They called me this morning in Surrey B.C. on my cell, I didn't bother to answer as I didn't recognize the number ..

Just called me twice, I answered te 2nd time  and said hello 5 times but they didn't say anything.
