I got the same call. You could hear a lot of people in the background speaking a foreign language. When I would not answer his questions he started swearing at me.

    Linux guy
Same number (307-243-5143), same scam.  He asked if i was in front of a computer. I said yes. then he asked me to press Windows + R. I told him nothing happened.  He was confused.
I told him i'm running Ubuntu/Linux.  He got super pissed.  He cursed me out, "Why you lie to me? Go to hell you [***]"  total scary [***], not really yelling, but super serious.
i guess he doesn't like linux.

Call is out of Cheyenne, Wyoming and as typical they're out to try to scam you.  Microsoft doesn't call you to assist you with problems on your computer. Don't fall for it.

just got this call from someone who says they were representing microsoft corp and they noticed that I had seversal thousand errors on their servers.  well I fell for it last time and this time they wanted me to reconnect and finish what they started when I disconnected them.  This is a big scam you can hear others in the backround selling the same pitch.  I forgot one main rule if you YOU do not initiate the call dont give them any information or anything just call them a \scam and hang up.

I was waiting for a call from my friend in Cody, Wyoming, and even though I knew this was not her number, it was area code 307, so I answered.  It was not my friend, but some idiot who did not even speak good English.  Wish all of the idiots would stop calling me.

Someone from this number called and told me there was a problem with my computer. I told her I thought it was a scam and she told me to "shut up". When asked to speak with her manager, she just kept saying she couldn't do that.

Got a call on my cell today from Alex stating that my computer was sending error messages.  Asked if I was in front of my computer and he would help fix them.  Told him he'd have to take this up with my company's IT technicians.  He spoke very poor English, sounded Asian.

Received a call for the 3rd time from 307-243-5143 in about a weeks time.  Alex once again, which he didn't speak clear English, stating that he worked for Windows Microsoft and my computer has been compromised.  I asked him again who he worked for and he stated " We're a 3rd party vendor of Microsoft".  He than asked me to perform a search on Teamviewer in Google and wanted me to download this software.  At that point I hung up on him as you should, if you get a call from 307-243-5143.  This is a scam and if one was to download the software and allow him to enter your computer/laptop, he'd be on his way of stripping off all of your information or inserting a virus on your system.  You can also here many other individuals in the background, which in itself is suspicious.

Also just received this call.  I am a computer consultant, I wish I would have looked up this number here quicker, it would have been fun to play with them for awhile.  And Microsoft will never call you and offer a free service to fix your computer! SCAM

Got a call at 3:00 pm from a woman stating she was from some Tech outfit.  Wanted me to open a run box and type in some www. address.  I said no, she said I "had to".  I hung up. She called back 3 times, before I told her not to call again. Her response was " I sure will, you wait and see".  Pretty aggressive.

A man with a very heavy Indian accent called my cell phone and claimed he was from Microsoft Tech Support. He said that my microsoft computer was sending 'critical errors' and that he was going to walk me through fixing them. I asked him how he was getting the information and he said "Your microsoft computer is sending it". So I then asked what brand of computer he was referring to (because my personal computer is a Mac and my phone # is not tied to my work computer) and he kept repeating "It's your microsoft windows computer" and could not tell me the brand.

He then kept trying to tell me to give him access so he could show me the errors and I told him I was NOT going to do that- if there was a problem with my work laptop I'll send it to my company IT department so he hung up on me. This number is obviously a scam.
