This number just called me. Didn't say squat. wtf?

called and did not speak, called back and sent me to a verizon recording.

Ok - this is July 15, 2009 and now I am getting calls at all times of the night.  The last post I see is nearly 1 year ago.  When I called the number back I got the same old Verizon message.  I feel like I need to turn off my phone at night which makes me very unhappy.

I've had 6 calls from this number in the last 48 hours.
Answered only once and there was silence at the other end.
The last call came in almost immediately after I had called back and got the Verizon message that the number had been disconnected or was otherwise out of service.

I have constantly received this number 1-310-429-5382.  I don't know who it is and they are constantly calling and not leaving a message.

Started getting these calls Monday, July 13, 2009 and they arrive several times a day as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 10:00 p.m.  This is getting quite bothersome.

I called Verizon. This number is well documented in their system. This is the explanation that was provided to me:

We are all receiving "phantom calls". The number that shows up on the caller ID is not the real number being used to call us. It is a disconnected number that someone using software that can easily be purchased on the internet is using to conceal the actual number they're calling us from.

My suggestions:

1) Put yourself on the National Do Not Call List

2) Call the FCC and file an actual complaint.

3) Unplug or switch your phone off for 24 hours - I'm thinking that being out of the rotation may knock you off the automatically generated outgoing call list.

4) Contact your local law enforcement.

5) After filing a complaint with the police go to court and issue a subpoena on grounds of harassment.

I got a call from this number last night around 11:00. When I answered it stayed on the line a little then hung up. I stayed on the phone but nothing happened.

this number has called me today 7 times, last night at 2 am (sunday) and NO answer.

Just received call from this number also but I didn't answer

When answered, caller hangs-up.

number keeps calling my cell phone no message left ever and calls after 9:00pm which is illegal if a bill collector or telemarketer.......states located in california but still have to abide by standard times to the number they are calling.....very annoying won't stop calling me

Call comes all night and all day , no one there.

Recieved two calls from this number and all that shows up on caller I.D. is San Monica Ca.

that number just started calling my cell 40 times in two days I did reverse .com. and it say from santa monica ca. I think it a telemarker or pc that's has a messed up phone line. it start for me after I did some facebook app.and a survey. it sucks

My boyfriend is getting calls from this Santa Monica number also and it seemed to start right after he got on facebook and filled out some things on there. I don't know if there is any relation to it. But I thought it was strange that that Rhonda, the lady that commented right before me, said that her's started after that also.

unsolicited calls to my number are terribly frustrating, however, i do not pick up if i do not recognize number, i am on do not call, and it seems as tho that doesn't help.   i usually report these numbers to fcc also.
wish they would stop tho,

This number has called my house 7 times already, and it's only 3:30 pm here.

This number continues to call me all day on the weekend. Every time I answer there is no response, and then the call disconnects. It is extremely aggrivating, and I want it to stop immediatly!!!

I got a couple phone calls from that same number. As I picked up, the caller hung up.
