I have received several calls; no one stays on the line long enough to leave a message. I did learn that the number is a land line out of the St. Louis, MO, area, and the caller is 41 years old.

Caller ID from 314-963-8895 just said Paper. I dropped my local paper not too long ago so if Adam G is right, that's why I'm getting this call now. Thank you Huntsville Times, I'll be sure to get right on that renewal of my subscription now.....

Yep, it's the Pisa group. Thank your local newspaper for getting calls from them. Called them back at 314-963-8895 pressed 3 and it asked if you wanted them to stop calling from the number your calling from. When you press 1, it asks you to confirm that you don't want special offers about your local newspaper, press 1 again and it says you won't be called again,it would take up to 48 hours to process. We shall see, they've been officially notified that I don't want them calling here. Next stop, FTC complaint.

I received a call from this number this morning and yesterday evening. From reading this board, it appears that it involves a group selling newspapers. Coincidentally my subscription to my local paper ran out (The Frederick News Post) and I began getting frequent calls from a national organization on behalf of my local paper. I answered once and heard the name of my local paper, hung up, and continued to get multiple phone calls for several weeks. Now it seems that my number was sold to this group because the timing is way too perfect. So, in the future, I will not be giving my cell or any other number to companies where I have a subscription or account. I had discontinued giving my home Tel # years ago for this very reason.

I get calls several times a day and nobody answers.  I tried calling the number back and get a recording with one option. Press one if you want to subscribe to your local paper & press one if this is the number you want someone to call you back on.  This has been going on for weeks now and it's really getting old.

Followed the advice seen here and called the number back. The menu options are slow, but you CAN opt out of getting calls.

Called several times this week, no one there. Shows up as "NEWS" on caller-id.

They have called our house at least a dozen times now. I am on the do not call list and I feel like I should not have to waste my time to ask them to not call me. Ridiculous!

I personally believe they do have some scamming going on because i know people that have ordered the paper gave them payment over the phone using theur redit card and it was charged several times and they never recieved a single newspaper. They need to be reported and stopped.

I keep getting calls from 314-963-8895. I don't answer because I don't recognize the number. They don't leave a message. Who is this and how do  I get the calls to stop? Is it a telemarketer?

more of these type calls should be and need to be reported to the FTC and indiviuals state attorney generals office there are also telemarketers that call and the number displayed is Not even the number thats being called from their True number Actually Intentionally confuses caller ID's so caller ID displays a ficticious number and this is True read about it a couple of reliable links Now somethings wrong with that picture those pieces of equipment should not even be allowed to possess by law.

i wish these people would stop calling me from this number also they call me early in the morning and all day

Think about the whole scenario here. Ok you're getting phone calls from an "unknown" caller or whatever, they repeatedly call asking if you want a newspaper subscription but the call is coming from some completely different state than where you live. They then keep badgering and being rude telling you they need your credit/debit/checking account information. Oh but remember they called you. You dont know the person calling and you are supposed just trust them with that kind of information. Hopefully whatever kind of scam they are running gets shutdown.

Like clockwork, I'd get a call from this number, once in the morning and once around 7pm at night. I finally answered and heard: "Hi, this is Laura from the Arizona Republic..." I hung up. This is a large newspaper in Arizona, which is owned now by USA Today, and loves illegal aliens, even though they don't read English, go figure. BTW the Arizona Republic is from whence the wealth of the Qualye family came.

I will agree with that .... I had a paper subscription with the AZ Republic.  I also had an email alias specifically for them as I do for all subscriptions.  Took a year or so but that email starts getting spammed.  Not too long after, I start getting calls from this number ..... I've been SOLD!  So some low level hack working for this paper making 8 ducketts an hour decides to make some extra jack and sell a block of phone #'s / email addresses.  No skin off their back, we all pay in the end.  Thanks @$$hole from AZ republic!

Anyhow, this showed up as "news" on my CID.  Just a hang up, no smessage.  Getting another number soon and then firewalling it with Google Voice.  Tired of paying for a home phone only to leave it unplugged until I need it.
