These phone calls are made from "spoofers".  They have the ability to change the caller ID on your phone.  That is why you get a discounted/ not in service number when you call back.  I received a call last month from the same "company" with a different not in service number 718-755-4985.  They are predatory callers looking for prey to scam. I have put in complaints with the FCC/ FTC.  They need a certain amount of people to complain before they act upon it.  The Federal Do Not Call list also works.  I do not receive legitimate telemarketing calls and haven't since I registered years ago.  Remember, these are not your legitimate callers.  That is why they ignore the Do Not Call Registry guidelines.
My phone company said that I do not have the ability to block calls, just use my caller ID and not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize.  This advice is what my family and I follow.

This is crazy.  These people need to stop calling. I am on the "DO NOT CALL LIST."  I have reported them to the state.

I found this list by googling about a call I just received. They called my cell. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer, but when I looked it up through a reverse search it said that the phone number "516-453-5645" could not be found. I tried calling them back to see who it was and it said the number was out of service. That was very odd, so I googled it. Now I know never to answer. Geeeeeeez! I hope these people get stopped soon!

phone rang once, picked it up to silence then brief background noise but no one answered when i continually said "hello" called it back and it was not in service. I was in the collection business for over 30 years - please avoid these companies and if you do decide to get help with your debts use a tax exempte Consumer Credit Counseling Service - they are the only legitimate companies to deal with. You can find them in the phone book or Google CCCS

Yes this is about the 5th time they have called my house, Blue Star Financial and another company Northstar. Both companies from the following number : 315 498 9580, new york based verizon number, trace back and call back failed. The last guy was named Anthony. When i told him to never call my house again, and stay off my line he called me an Mother F***er.. All i can say is wow and fill a police report.

By the way, the Do Not Call List... will only work with legit companies, these guys are scammers / spoofers. Report to your local police department, most have a force or section for this type of thing.  Im going to throw this out there. there are computer programs, very powerful programs that you can fire back at them. learn everything about them, and do as you please with the information. Just sayin.

I had a call from this organization a few minutes ago.  I asked how they got personal information about me and she tried to expalin they didn't.  As she was tip-toeing around an expalantion, she hung-up.  These people are criminals and someone needs to do something about them.

Received 3 phone calls in less than 1 hour from this number.  They would not tell me the name of the company or where they were calling from.  She told me that I was being rude and discreminating against her for saying she was calling me from India.  Why would I give personal information to anyone calling me without my permission?  Why would I acknowledge that I have debt to someone I don't know?  She told me I should pay my debts.  Called back twice to pick a fight with me over the phone.  I couldn't tell if they were a collection agency or someone trying to help by the third call.

I've been getting calls from this same number for about a month now. They call 2-4 times a day. How can we put an end to this?

They keep calling and ALWAYS have a foreign accent.  I keep telling them to take me off their list. The last time I got mad and said that I'm sick of them calling and they better take me off the list.  He said that it was the first time they had called.  I said that I know it was the debt consollidation place.  He said "I just won't tell you where I'm from and we'll just forget about it!" and then he hung up on me!

The same thing happened to me. Omard  wanted to argue on the phone. I said I was on the don't call list. The I reported it to the police.

man with heavy NY accent- no idea why he called-I saw plenty about this company & phone number to KNOW they are another scam "we'll reduce your credit card debt" piece of trash company!  anyone legit does NOT fake caller ID info with bogus info & has no business making calls to those of us on the No Call List.

I'm reporting the company to the Attorney General AND FTC- maybe enough complaints will get them jailed like others have been!

I just a call from this # asking me if I had more than 10,000 in credit card debit I said no and hung up.

I get calls from this number, when I answer, nothing happens, when I call back, no one answers.

The same thing is happening to me.  Its the same company and apparently the same man.
