phone rings, no one answers, then hangs up

Who ever it is, doesn't matter to me. I do not answer unknown, unavailable, private numbers, or otherwise unidentifiable callers. So they are just wasting their time. I get an awful lot of calls since I put my number on the national do not call list. I suppose they sell the numbers to telemarketers.

I just called.  They call me several times a day.  The guy that answered claims to be from the Kids Wish Foundation.

For the last couple of weeks I have been getting calls from 319-243-3033.  By the time I get to the phone the caller has hung up and never leaves a message, and always seems to call in the early evening.  It's very annoying.  I've tried to redial the # and it doesn't connect -- it rings for a bit and then all I get is a dial tone.  Don't these folks have something better to do?  I value my time and privacy and am tired of racing to the phone.

We've been getting calls from 319 243-3033 Cedar Falls, IA for weeks now. I thought they were political calls, because we've been getting a lot of those. Thanks to other posters, I now know it's the Kid's Wish number. I used to get calls from them all the time and I asked to be taken off their list. I guess they've started in again. The few times I did answer, no one was there. Now I just let the phone ring or pick up and immediately hang up. I'm going to check and see if we have the block feature on our phone. They call 2 or 3 times a day. Very annoying.

I just received a call from this number and they asked for my husband's first wife who passed away 5 years ago.  When I told them she had died they immediately hung up.

I also recived a call from this number and no one was there.  The caller ID just said IOWA

I got a call, tried to pick up, there was a click etc. like the rest of the complaints. If I get another call back I'm going to contact my local FBI white-collar crimes office. If this is a scam I'd be happy to help catch the jerks!

I just got a call from this number. Didnt make it to the phone in time. When I called back a few minutes later, I get a message saying Verizon wireless phone number has been disconnected. How in the world is it that they called and 10 minutes later, they are disconnected?
The phone number is 319-243-3033 and it says Cedar Falls Iowa on the caller ID

Not sure. They hung up before leaving a message. I just thought it was weird because it said Iowa, like in the state

This number always comes up as Toll-Free Call on my Caller ID. If it is actually a legitimate conphsnu Capital One then they should have the balls to put their real name on the Caller ID. If it says Toll-Free or Privacy Manager, then I just don't waste my time answering.

These idiots hav nothing better to do, therefore please just pray for them.  To call over and over makes absolutely no sense at all.

Got a call from a number called IOWA 319-243-3033. No one answered and we hung up.

My family keeps on getting these calls as well. We figured it was just another person dialing the wrong number so we decided to ignore it until they stopped calling. But guess what - they kept calling. These calls are beginning to get more and more frequent and I believe something needs to be done about it, especially after reading all of these comments.

You need to read this group's Form 990, which is the IRS filing. In 2009, Kids Wish Network took in almost $17.2 million and paid professional fundraising fees of $8.4 million and salaries $1.02 million. That means more than half of what they raise goes in someon'es pocket and does little for the "cause." My advice is ask questions, do the research and decide if you wan to donate.

Somebody calls and does say anything and after a minute or two they hung up. Has happenend about six times in the past seven days.

multiple calls a day for 3 weeks now.  all hangups until today. some children's charity?  the lady started out by saying "lets be honest..you're a mother right? children die each year and we need your help!!"  seriously??  nice tactics.
