I just got this call, and I get this call at least every week or two from 319-243-3033 but when I pick up and say hello there is dead silence and then it disconnects. My caller ID says "Cedar Falls, IA" I've never to my recollection actually spoke to anyone from this number when they call.

I actually work for a business that calls for the Kids Wish Network and with the company that I work for the way that it is set up is that any amount that is over 100 the whole amount goes to the children and granting the wishes if it is under then yes it is divided up. I understand that more should actually go to the children but nothing from nothing is still nothing. If I got 20 from all of the people that I talked to on any given day things would be great. You've got to think that no business no were of any kind can run on nothing the bills have to get paid some how and you would not like to work for any company for free and people just
do not volunteer their time like they used to. What I am saying is ask questions from the person that you are talking to other companies might be set up in different ways

Just to inform all of you that we (the ones that sit and makes those calls to the people like you) get just as mad and upset at the people like yourselves that call and scream and yell at us for doing our job. People seem to forget that times are really hard for everyone right now and sitting and making those calls for the most of us is what we need to do to pay our bills. If I had a dime for every person that told me in a night they do not have a job and that they can't afford it right now I would be [***] rich now and would not be making those calls. However those same people still manage to have the cell phones and land line phones and cable TV. We as a whole understand that the economy is really bad but the job that I and the people that I work with do not only helps us but others as well. Yes some of the people that make the calls are rude and some of them don't need to be doing this job but that is with any business but the charity is real the cause is real and the help is needed for the kids. If you can take the time and type a complaint on the computer then maybe you should take the time to look the charity up as well then see for yourself. Most people want to complain but if it were your child that was in need then you would not care what time people were calling as long as you were getting the help that was needed. All charities are excluded from the do not call list and the Attorney General allows them to call until 9 PM seven days a week.

Yes that might be true however the callers can not remove the numbers if the number is not verified by the person especially if you returned the call. The numbers are computer generated and some times they are wrong numbers but when a call is inbound then the number might show a cell phone number and not the number that was called so what happens is the person is called they hang up on the caller mad then they call back using their cell yelling take me off your list then hang up. Well I can remove the cell but the other number is still in the system because the caller hung up before giving the other number and guess what happens the person gets called back he gets mad and hangs up...he calls back again yelling I told you stupid people to take me off the list then hangs up again before giving the number... you see the problem the numbers need to be verified before you hang up....

Kids Wish Network is a real charity they do real work for the kids that are sick and dying. The calling system that is used is not meant to cause an issue however they are computers that we are dealing with. All the numbers that are called are received from various places long distance carriers mostly. That number that is on the caller ID is a shared number not only is used when the organization is using it but others are using it as well it is a universal number from what we are told. Take that into consideration when you want to cuss the caller when you call back and say you have been calling for months well the campaigns for the most part only last 3 weeks on average as a caller I can tell you that it is no easy job you are yelled at cussed at horns blown and whistles blown. You hear every excuse that you can imagine and even some that you cant but for all of that the one that tells you yes and offers to help makes us feel great. So many people complain about not having a job well we do and its helping others. I could not even imagine my child dying and not being able to give them their one last wish, or being able to give them a proper burial this charity helps with this. The callers are doing their best to help the charity. Yes there are people that do not need to be making the calls but for the most part the people are real and do understand that the economy is hurting. the reason you hear nothing is that they are using automatic dialers...and there is a delay before you would hear a person
