    They call here EVERY day, and have for over a month. Today, I asked her to stop calling (she had been asking for my husband, mispronouncing our last name) and after I told her that my husband would not be interested in talking to her, she said is this MRS. ______, and I said that it was and I did not want to talk to her either and to STOP CALLING MY HOUSE!!! She continued with her schpeel just as though I said nothing, so I hung up on her. I'm sure I"ll hear from her again tomorrow.

    I have been getting one and sometime two calls a night from Ebsco Teleservice for a week and a half. I have an answering machine, so if it were that important, they could leave a message. It is very disturbing to me and I would like to have it stopped.

    I get called by this number several days a week, when I pick up...silence and then disconnect.  Doesn't make sense if it was a telemarketer machine or human why wouldn't a recording come on??

    All you have to do is simply answer and ask to be put on a do not call list. EBSCO Teleservices is exempt from the national do not call list because you have purchase something from them. You wouldn't ignore a call from your electric company, would you? Also, some of the auto dialers have a delay so you must be sure to have spoken with a person otherwise you may have hung up before they hear your request.

    This number has called at least twice a day for over a month and is so ignorant that they ask for me on the answering machine, as if I were there.  We have caller ID and we do not answer and they still will not stop.  I finally (wife) got on the phone and told them we are sick and tired of them calling us for over a month and to stop it.

    They ask for my husband even on the answering machine.   Who would call the answering machine and say "is William there?"  I do not want them calling here ever again.   Please relay this message.  I don't care who they are.  If they want something, they can leave a message.

    Well I can understand your frustration. The reason people ask for someone on your answering machine is because by the time calls are connected to the representative the phone has already been answered and the machine may have already started recording and they have no way of knowing. I can't relay a message for you as I'm a past employee, and they wouldn't simply take an employees word that so-and-so asked to be placed on the Do Not Call list. However, when someone calls just politely ask to be put on EBSCO's DNC list. Yelling at the sales rep is rude, considering they are on an auto-dialer and they have no way of knowing how many times you've been called, or if you've ever even been called before. On top of that, there are some immature individuals who may decide to put you in as a "callback anytime" if you're rude or scream/swear at them, which can result in fines imposed on EBSCO and more calls to your house. Lastly, it is their job to sell you a renewal to your subscription, so if they attempt to pitch a sale or rebuttal you, don't get angry. They're just doing their job. Once your request has been put in, wait 24-48 hours and the calls will absolutely stop for all publications that EBSCO works for and you subscribe to.
