Found out 402-982-0679 are being used by a telemarketing firm. Tele-marketing firm is a customer of a carrier based in the Midwest. Any complaints on telephone numbers starting with 402-982-0679 should be addressed to the telemarketing compliance number 1-866-708-0401 to record a complaint. They seem to take care of any complains on the telemarketing calls.

Call 1-866-708-0401 asap if you have a dispute that needs to be resolved from any 402-982-0XXX telephone numbers or vsit their web site http://www.tmcallerid.com/

wow i'm really glad i didn't have my phone on me when this number called me. i wouldn't have known it was a scam, and after reading these comments i'm glad i know now. i was like, what the heck when i saw that missed number message on my phone scren cuz i didnt recognize the number

They called me several times and no message. I am afraid ... very afraid!

Same number called me this morning around 11am.  I was still asleep.  I have been getting those "vehicle warranty" calls too.  No doubt there's a connection.  This is def. a scam.  When I paid cash $500 for my '89 Chrysler, well that was it lol, no loans, warranty, but I got a free quart of oil and some wicked cool sunglasses.

This number is repeatedly calling my 12 year old child's cellphone.  What can be done about these people doing this?

I just started to receive calls from this number 402-982-0679, about my vehicle warranty expiring, I don't own a car, and it's getting very annoying. Using up my minutes.

I only answered once.  They keep trying but they also don't normally leave messages. I usually just hit ignore when the call come in so I am not losing minutes.  They also call from 402-982-0468.  It's unfortunate that people can be as dumb as to fall for their scam.

Just got this call while im at work;
didnt pick up cause I didnt know who it was so i googled it.
I just called back and an automated teller informs you that if you want to be taken off of their list press 1 and allow up to 72 hours to be removed.

This number was on my cell phone, which the only people who have the mumber is family.

They call me twice a week. I won't answer. To anyone who reads this... go to donotcall.gov and list your phone number. It will take about a month. My friend told me about it and said it stops the solicitors.

I get at least one of these calls every couple of weeks at work saying my warranty is about to expire.  There is never any specification as to what the warranty is or what I have the warranty on.  Unfortunately, since this is my work phone, and my phone doesn't have caller ID, I have to answer the phone.  When I'm already on the phone, like I was today, the voice mail gets sent to my e-mail (no message left, as usual with these folks), with the following info:

Annoying phone call!!!  Recieved an unwanted unsolicitated phone call from the number, did not answer as I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST AND WILL REPORT IT IF IT KEEPS UP.  They need to update their do not call telephone numbers

These calls are harassing. I am registered with "do not call" and can't get rid of this number  HELP!!!!!!!!  I am sending an email to the state attorney general's office

This is the solution:
According to the (FCC) federal law anyone that benefits from the phone spam can be sued in the Federal Court for @ $ 500.00 for every call they (or their contractor) make to the phones listed in "Do Not Call" list. Providing that  the phone number they call is listed for 6 months prior to the call and renewed every 5 years.
Most of this calls are probably from "IP" phones and originate outside US, but the company is located in US.

One way to deter them from calling back is to notify them at the beginning of the call that you are recording it. You can legally record it and use it in court.

Save call record and any voice mail you get. Look for an attorney that will file a class action suit - he can represent everyone that was called.
You do not need an attorney to file a law suit in Federal Court.

I eliminated most of the harassment by recording calls - scammers usually say things that are not legal and do not want to have record of it.

I just activated a bran new number that never used before and got call from them today. They autodial all numbers.
