Easy solution. If you are using Shaw digital phone, dial *60 to set up number blocking service. Google it if you have trouble with it. Or you can buy a call blocker. The first time I called Telus it's for booking an internet setup ... like 10 years ago. Waited a whole day and they didn't show up. From then I never used any Telus service.

I guess those telemarketers in India get paid by number of calls connected per day. What's the easiest way for them? Just get connected and hung up. It's fast and save them a lot of breath to talk to you.

I received a call from this number and, since I didn't recognize it, let the answering machine take it. A young man, or so the voice sounded, asked for Bruce. I guess he figured my answering machine was a live person because he said "Hello?" a few times before hanging up. I dialed the number because I thought it might be a friend I know in Calgary. I got a Telus recording saying I didn't need to dial the number 1 or 0 before the number. When I omitted the 1, I got a recording saying I had to add 1 or 0 in front of the number since it wasn't in my calling area. What a Goon Show!

I started getting calls from these a$$w!pe$ (if this trips a captcha, sorry) after I had to cancel my internet lanline.  You see, I live in an older building, and the internal wiring was sadly out of date.  My Telus Internet went on the fritz, and Telus got a person out to look at the problem.  Turns out the wiring an connectors had gone bad, and the signal could no longer get from the exterior line through the junction box and to my apartment.  No problem there, I recognize the problem.

And of course, the landlord is too stingy to replace the wiring.  He told me that if I didn't have a cell phone, I should suck it up and buy one, who uses a LAN line any more?  But that's a different issue.

So the Telus guy gives me the report number he'll file so when I cancel my internet, I can cite the number as Telus telling me that I can cancel the connection.  And when I do It's done in about five minutes as Telus can't give me [***] for having a physically broken line.

    Then the calls start.

If you've gotten this far, you know exactly what I'm talking about.  I eventually went with Shaw Cable for my internet.

I've received 6 calls from this number in as many days. The dude who dialled my number never leaves a message since I changed my announcement a few days ago. It's tempting to connect my fax machine and press "receive" when I get such a call again. Maby Mr. Telus Salesman will get a clue and quit bugging me.

I just dialled 310-2255, without the 403, and got the 20 questions robot. I finally got hold of a human after indicating I needed service. The woman said that I should dial 1-800-567-0000 and ask to be put on their "do not call" list. I tried that but the office is closed. I'll call them tomorrow and ask them to stop bugging me. I also wrote my Member of Parliament about these nuisance calls. We shouldn't have to be made to call Telus to have them put us on a list. It's bad enough that they stuff our monthly bills with propaganda. If I want a new service, I'll ask for it.

I found out from dialing just 310-2255 that it connects me with Telus' 20 questions robot. The woman who finally answered the phone said I'm to call 1-800-567-0000 and press 1 for privacy concerns, scams, and marketing calls. I don't remember the exact wording.

When I did so and asked the woman to be taken off their sales calling list. she assured me that I would soon stop receiving those calls. I received one this afternoon. Hopefully that will be the last time.

By the way, I also learned that the national "Do Not Call" list is set up so that your number is removed after a couple of years. The Telus lady advised me to call and re-register with the DNC folks. The number is 1-866-580-3625. I'll call them tomorrow when their office is open.

I've received calls from this number twice in 2 days - was nice the first time, not so nice the 2nd time.  Apparently they need '3 minutes of my time' in order to remove my number from their list permanently.  Not bloody likely.  They'll get quite an earful if they try it again - or should i say when :(

Hey there, have been getting calls from this number as well. Just an FYI, you don't have to call any number to register your phone with the DNCL....just follow this link:
    https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/index-eng

You can check if you're registered, register or extend your registration....it does expire after 5 years.

Also received a call from this number and displayed followed by the number 778 724 4999 that when I looked up directs me to a company called Distributel Communications Ltd in Vancouver. Likely the company doing the calling for Telus.
