This IS a scam.

I just got the call on my cell as a valued bell customer...( I hung up then) because I just recently switched from Bell to Telus the other week (took the phone number with me) because I was not a valued customer, well that is impression their representatives gave me.

got a message from this number and it was promotional call from Canadian Tire

i just got the call too and usually im not one to push 1 but i did, the guy went through his whole schpeal blah blah blah then told him i wasnt interested in his scam and told him to f off........gotta love those losers ho have no life. But they try to get yor credit card #

This is the 4th time that some scam has called me. It is getting to be very annoying.

Come on guys, have some fun, answer it, press 1 and immediately put the call on hold. This will at least waste some of THEIR time saying "Hello, hello..." ^ ^

This is the second time I've had someone from this number call me....no message left...how annoying...

got acall from this today. no message tried calling back got error message

I suspect this is an automated call-back scam. If you press any numbers you are accepting the toll charges associated with the long distance charges and will be billed. Think of it like the 1-900 system. Keep an eye on your cell phone bill and if you see any extra billings you do not recognize be sure to call your phone provider fraud department and get the charges reversed.

just got a call from this number on my cell, have service with bell, live in Nova Scotia. Didn't answer. Not many people have this number, didn't put it on the do not call list. They must be dialing random numbers?

I also received a call from 4035847878 and did not answer.

I got a call from this number today 403-584-7878 on my cell.  I never answered either tried to call it from a land line but I am at an office that does not allow long distance, so the only thing I know about this number is it is not in the Calgary calling area

I missed a call to my cell phone this morning from 403-584-7878.  My service provider is Rogers and I live in Saskatchewan. The caller did not leave a message.

My home and cell numbers are on the "do not call" but I still get these calls, mostly to my home phone. I bought a call block phone so once I've discovered it's a telemarketer/scam then I save it to the block list and it hangs up on them :) That makes me happy.

I rarely get these kinds of calls to my cell phone but glad to have found these details about this number.  Another website indicated it is a spoofed number to trick the caller ID.

I picked up and it says something about being a value rogers customer and offering 3000 travel dollars. to collect press 1.

I keep getting calls from either this number or similar numbers. I usually don't answer them. I can't wait to leave Rogers. BTW I live in Port Moody, BC.

I got a call from this number too...I'm glad I tried to look it up before calling it back!

got a call from this number "because you are a valued Rogers customer... 3000 travel dollars" they asked for my credit card info. told them i wasn't going to give it out and they hung up.

I live in the lower mainland in BC. I JUST got this call. It stated that since I'm special or something, I have received 3000 travel dollars. To accept, press 1.

Of course, I'm not going to accept that. What bull. I would NEVER accept a call that contains an automated message; if someone wants to speak to me, they can have a live person on the phone.

I say all this because I used to be a telemarketer, though I worked at a legitimate company, and I knew that this scam certainly wasn't legit.

Good rule of thumb: if it sounds too good to be true, you can bet your butt that it is!
