They have called here 4 times since Boxing Day. Twice the accent was so thick I couldn't understand what the call was about. Turned out they are scammers looking for personal data (credit card numbers, etc)claiming they can lower my interest rate. Doubt that as I rarely use the cards and always pay them off in full within a month if I do...but no matter, they can still help me save money if only I will give them my card number.  When I asked them to stop calling the fellow (who wouldn't id himself) got very hostile and yelled that I had called him!!! These are offensive scammers looking to pick your pockets.  Hang up on them, don't worry about hurting their feeling, and report them if they continue to call. Nothing good will come from talking to these thieves.

We just got the call also at 10:00 am.  If this is a scam, man are they informed...  We have a Canadian Tire Mastercard and he gave me the first 8 digits...but then I asked him who the card belonged to, he gave me the name of the person who had my phone number before me for which I often get calls for the same name so that's why I hung up...  ooooff! He told me that he already had all our information in his computer, well I showed him...lol.  I hate giving out information on the phone but I did it once and it was true I got a lower interest rate on a new card from a different company.  Now that I think of it I could of been scammed back then.... ah well!  This time I must admit it didn't smell too good.

Annoyance call, possible fraud; caller requests press #9 on phone. or caller requests press #1 and #9. Do not press numbers; if you press the requested numbers the caller is able to call long distance on your number if you press #1 and #9. Many calls from this number and reported to the police.

i want to investigate why some one calling on this telephone number to me please check this number and find out 403-648-9228 i received many calls from this numbers and if i call back to this number not body talk and not answer  voice mail say error in this number this is very interesting please help me to find our this person and let me know how can i take action against this person thanks

its a stupid fake credit card company that won't tell how they got the phone number. eh.

I got a call on January 4, 2009 at 6:15 pm from a guy with a thick Indian accent. He said he was calling from CCCA - Credit Card Consumer Advocates. He said his name was Dave Lawrence and that this ID # was 78238. He told me that I could get interest rates as low as 1.5 - 6 %, depending on how I qualify. He asked which of my credit cards had the highest interest rate. I told him Visa. He asked what bank it was with. I should have realized at that point, that this was a scam! He asked me how high my current interest rate is and then gasped saying how much less I could be paying. He asked me to get my credit card and then said: Do you see this phone number on the back of your card: 416-465-4653. Then he asked me for the 3 digits next to my signature!!! I laughed and said: "Are you serious!? There is NO WAY I am giving out the security digits on the back of my card to some stranger." I went on to tell him that I would be looking into his company. This is horrible! I NEVER fall for this kinda stuff but these guys are quite clever. I am so upset that they are doing this to people. I know so many people who would have fallen for this, unfortunately. :(

We have had many calls from this number, now knowing what the number is, since we got our caller ID. Today, Jan. 7, 2010 at 2:50 pm, our answering machine picked up the call the mechanical female voice said Sorry that was an invalid response please press 9 now to speak to an representative repeating the message twice.  We have had the same call before caller ID and many other calls from "Unknown sources" and are getting fed up with it, so that is why I am finally writing to complain. Hope it does some good.

I got a call from 1-403-648-9228 the caller said he was calling from CCCA and that he could lower my Visa and MasterCard interest rates.  He was very polite, and had a lot of personal information of mine.  I've been trying to hunt down the head office for this company with very little success, but I intend to make it my business to find out who they are and deal with this.

When I picked up it was just silent on the other end. I said hello a few times but no answer. I quickly did a reverse lookup but it just came up as a landline out of Calgary.

I received a call from this number around 12 noon as well. A very rude man was speaking with me, he had a very heavy accent and I couldn't understand him. He never said his name or where he was calling from. All he said was that he could lower my credit card rate and asked if I had a credit card with either Visa, Mastercard or Capital One. I said I wasn't interested and that I wanted my number off their call list. I asked to speak with his manager or supervisor. I was then transfered to a women with a very think Asian accent. She was just as rude as the first guy and when I said I wanted my name and number off their list she yelled at me and swore then hung up. I work in the customer service industry and I was very upset with the way they talked to myself and my boyfriend. I called the number back and looked it up online. I believe it is an Alberta number 403 6489228 it was not listed and I still don't have a company name. When I called back the same guy picked up and again never said his name or business name. I told him that he has just called me and that this lady "manager" yelled and hung up on me as well and that I would like to speak with someone else. He laughed at me and again said what they were trying to sell. He again asked me for my information and that I was passing up a great opportunity. I told him that if they called again I'm reporting them, he laughed again and started yelling something I couldn't understand. By the end of the second call I got no where with them, and before we hung up he asked again "so your sure you don't want to lower your rate"? These people have a lot of nerve. Don't give anyone your info over the phone unless you get their name, business name, phone number and time they called so you have a reference.

Ce que je ne comprends pas c'est: Si un tel numéro paraît suspicieux ou évoque très clairement l'apparence de fraude, pourquoi ce numéro est-il toujours en fonction ?

Pourquoi les cons qui autorisent l'utilisation de tels numéros ne font aucune investigation significative à leur sujet lorsque plusieurs personnes se plaignent ???

Bon, je suppose que poser la question est en quelques sortes y répondre; ...pourquoi retirer le numéro du marché puisqu'il rapport de l'argent à ceux qui le loue. Quant aux gens ordinaires, je présume qu'il n'ont qu'à ne pas répondre et qu'ils devraient se débrouiller seuls !!!!

Qnat à rapporter un numéro à la GRC ou RCMP, il ne faut pas compter trop sur un résultat probant de leur part, ils ont toujours les mains liées quant il s'agit d'aider le peuple... Après tout, ils ont le fardeau de la preuve et je ne sais pas s'il savent vraiment par où commencer ???

I work for card services at a bank, this is a scam, the only info they have is stuff that any fraud company can find out, the point of the call is to get more info and try to steal your identity, disregard any of these calls... they called me and when i told them i work for a credit card company he hung up.

They called here twice.  The first time Icould barely understand what they were saying, so they hung up.  The second time my answering machine took the message.  This area code is from Calgary and I think it's a fraud

received a call from 403.648.9228 on Jan 16 (Sat) around 5pm PST, there was nobody talking on the other end [possibly because i have a smart voice :-)]

if someone already reported this number to PhoneBusters a few months ago, why are they still active ???

found unknow message from (403) 648-9228 called back a guy said ????????????? all i got was customer service. asked what is it? said consumer credit ??????? when I asked credit waht? he hang up.
