I just got called by this number on my Cell Phone. My carrier is Virgin Mobile Canada. I have also not flown on WestJet before.

I am not a westjet member, but I answered and asked the guy which company he was with and he disconnected the Call.  I have also had the same company call about a free trip as a Costco Member.  I am not a Costco Member.  Same thing, as soon as I started asking Questions, they disconnected the call.

i m using fido tho. but i just recieved that phone call.

Got a call from them, same wesjet bs, i got irate and swore my face off at them. It felt great.

Called my cell. Cell is pay-as-you-go phone from Virgin, so the idea that it's targeting Bell customers only is untrue. Phone number isn't listed anywhere. Refused to answer since it's my cell.

i answered, i won.

told me I won 3000 dollar.. and asked me to press 1...what the fack....?

Not Bell thing - I am with Rogers and just got a call on my cell.  Didn't answer so don't know who it was.

I got this call, didn't answer it this time, but this number called me before. The last time it said it was Air Canada, and I was a preferred customer. Now it seems they are pretending to be Westjet. I am not a customer of either airline. And, I am a Telus customer, with an unlisted number.

Then why are they calling me, I have always been with telus?

Had a call from it last night, my battery was dying so I didn't answer, glad I didn't waste my time now!

Gave Marlin Travel my # lately when I got my WJ tic, Desk agents  ALWAYS say "there is a $20 service fee" (pause... and even if I say yeah okay agent says) "We wouldn't make any money otherwise because Westjet doesn't pay us." Try it they are trained to say it. Maybe there is a grudge culture that someone feels that they are owed and are acting on it. Any reports of actual scams, is it true WJ knows about this "scam".

Received this call yesterday around 9:30 pm. I'm with Telus. I've never flown on a plane in my life, so I have no idea how I could be preferred.

I got a call from 403-791-8642 on Oct 21, I don't know who is.

This is a total scam... They are calling people all over... I just got a call from them too but didn't answer because Im working in my office.  Anyways, westjet confirmed that is indeed a scam and they are not part of these calls.  They are currently trying to track down the people responsible for making the calls.  When you answer, they ask you to press 1... when you do you will get a live person and the will most likely ask you for your credit card number.... DON'T GIVE THEM ANYTHING.  Don't even confirm your name and when they ask if you are over 25... don't even confirm that.

Yes, they do.  They released a press release about it yesterday...they are working with police and security to go after the people use the auto dialer.
