- who ya crappin?thought i'd share this with you all, even though this crap came from two different numbers. some loser called my sis last week saying we were going to be arrested on felony warrants for not paying a cash advance place on a check. my sis freaked out, even though she's never cosigned for anything with me. she calls these jerks up, and is given two numbers. i called one of the numbers up, and the guy said my ssn doesn't match. He then finds my ssn and he then claims i wrote three bad checks 3-4 years ago, and that i owed 2 k, but if i paid over $460, the prosecutor would drop the charges. he even put me on hold and claimed to speak with the prosecutor. won't lie, i was scared. i called my bank and they said if i had written bad checks, i would've gotten a letter, plus they'd close out my account.
i live out of state, so why would some scammers in GA care about a bank account? Secondly, no prosecutor would accept money over the phone. my bank sure as hell wouldn't allow me to write checks, and they would've contacted us. investigations must be one of those typical parolees that works in one of those places. try getting a REAL job. Is GA the national capital of scammers?- Call type: Debt collector
- Juanda Tyner| 1 replygot a call from Agent Carroll 404-973-2103 and was threatend with sending me to the county attorney for a fradulent check. I thankfully did not fall for this threat as it involved a family member and not me. I did not co-sign or have any knowledge before during or after the incident until Ms Carroll gave me this information herself. She threatened serious consequences for me and my husband who also had nothing to do with this debt by an adult family member. How dare them do that to us. There are laws on the books, they are in violation and they need to be stopped. If I would have done this to them I would expect to go to jail or at least pay a heavy fine. They need to go to jail and pay a large fine. This place is scary enough latley, we don't need this type of garbage.

- Melissa and Dave replies to BradWe too have gotten these identical calls from these "agents". I spoke with Atty General, state of police in MI and GA what they are doing is illegal. You are not allowed to leave messages on a vm to anyone let alone a "reference" not even to the intended person stating criminal charges. We did not fall for this, 8 days later and still no documents that we requested. But we are saving every message they leave and have reported them to everyone we can think of. Funny thing is the supposed loan payday was supposed to be from B.C., we live in MI and this company is in Utah!? And they never ONCE requested to speak to my husband only me yet the supposed debt is his? Be aware this company is not legit. Research. Do not fall victim.
- Melissa replies to kim| 4 repliesYou are prob with these ppl, I spoke to the Sate Police, the court and atty general this is ONLY considered civil at best and still the way they go about it is illegal in itself. Check the FTC, Atty General website, and the FBI Crime Unit. I reported to all these and there are scams listed on these sites from the government stating exactly what is going on here with others. To all... if you have doubts contact the state police and these others for yourself and verification.
- Concerned Citizen replies to Melissa| 3 repliesCome one, These are not fake debts. leas can anyone tell me how the agency gets you SSN, Address, references, spouse information. Tere is no way this information can be obtained unless, now say it with me, YOU TOOK OUT THE LOAN. Now please pay your bills and stop looking for ways to get out of it. The economy will be better off if you deadbeats start being responsible.
- The Exposer replies to Concerned Citizen| 1 replyThat's not the point. If you owe a debt, it's to the original creditor. You DO NOT pay a collector that bought it for pennies on the dollar and then inflated the amount with interest and fees and penalties they just made up. Often times tripling the original amount. NOBODY OWES DORSEY THORNTON ANYTHING!!!
When the original creditor sold the debt for pennies, and did not offer YOU that deal, then you are morally off the hook, troll. - Steffanie replies to BradThis same lady called my BOSS and told him she was calling from Wells Fargo and that I owe $7000 and if I, too, did not pay by 2 pm a warrant would be issued. I called back, simply to get her name and address so that MY attorneys can contact HER! These practices are illegal, needless to say, she won't return my phone calls now. (Even the message she leaves on her voicemail is ridiculous!)
- not foolishI too had to file a complaint, with state attorneys office. I have a my docs, from my bank. First he said it was a electronic loan, I call my bank, after getting off the phone, and requested bank statement. I call him back, and told them this had to be mistaken I.dentity, because this so call company doesn't show on my statement or check, and requested legitimated documentation from this so call payday loan. So to say we are back and forth with this, you want my info but you can't give me info from the company filing this claim, or the amount of this check. I turned my info over to my attorney, and told the Agent to call ahead and file to DA, So when I get the letter from the DA, me and my attorney can go forward. He than tell me it was a live check, I do not do live checks, and like I told him this does not show on my statement, lets move forward. You know what, they send a fax to my office, not a court document with requesting my info. Dumb A. because unless it is a legitimate court doc. My employer do no release that info. They don't want to here your side of the story, (just take care of this matter). I told them to take me to court. I have legal documentation from the bank, saying this transaction did not take place. I want them to take me court, to explain to my attorney and the Judge how in hell did they get my info and according to FCC laws, it is against any collection agency to contact you with harrassing calls at your job. So now my lawyer will be contacting the DA herself, because I save all the theating calls, decribing themselves as law enforcement. You still innocent until proving guilty, in the court of law.

- AnonymHey Investigations,
I hope Michael Thornton hasn't had enough with all his tax issues that he was sued about because you're bout to get more!!!
These people are scam artists. The owner of the company has already been sued in California!!! We spoke to local sheriff here and even filed reports. They may be a whole collection agency, but that's all they are. The use of agent this and investigator that is giving them big heads, and I think they are starting to believe what they say is true!!!
HAHAHAHAHA Get hair cut and a real job DTA!!! You don't scare me. I know my rights and the laws. I have verified everything already. They kept telling me call the courthouse. Guess what? We did!!! Guess what else>>>>>>>>>> Nothing filed. We been dealing with these idiots for almost 2 years. We have just about enough information now to file the $1000 for each federal law they have broken in there courthouse in Georgia!!! We aren't that far away. HAHA BET YA NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT.

PS We aren't willing to take your settlement offer, so how 'bout you take ours? Stop your business now before it's too late. We also contacted the place you claim you got the PDL from, and they said there wasn't an outstanding loan that we have. The last check which is what we tried to tell you morons!!! I think you guys worked at one of these places and got info you shouldn't have and are just trying to make money illegally!!!! I mean seriously, the owner charged in a money type suit (Michael Thornton).
OHH YA BOOOOYAAAA BYTCHES
Michael Thornton, 41, of Union City, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to tax fraud, admitting he prepared numerous returns using fraudulent and misleading information. The deception included inflating incomes and lying about deductions to obtain higher refunds.

- Facts From AZAs of July 1, 2010 Arizona made pay day loans illegal. This is what it says in the Sunset Act's Q & A about collection:
Are there any limits on what a payday lender can do in order to collect on an unpaid loan?
Yes. It is illegal to threaten you with criminal prosecution for writing a “bad check” in connection with the loan. Also, a payday lender cannot harass you to such an extent that it rises to the level of the crime of harassment (a misdemeanor).
Both federal and state law limit the tactics a debt collector can use, including restricting the time, hours, and places they can call you. For information on federal law visit the Federal Trade Commission’s website at: www.ftc.gov. Also, the Department of Financial Institutions regulates collection agencies in Arizona: http://azdfi.gov. - tammythe message said it was for tax evasion, it was left on a sat. and said I had 24 hrs to return the call. left 2 numbers 404-935-9487 & 935-9490 the call came from 404-946-4035
