These people are driving me crazy! I consistently press 3 to no avail. They just keep calling. So today I pressed 1 and said please stop calling or I will report you . The woman basically laughed in my face and said --go ahead-it won't do any good---and now that you have pressed 1 --we will probably call you tomorrow and probably on the Fourth of July--I felt threatened and called her a *itch. Which she then called me one. This is horrible and what can be done??

These people are scum and need to be taught a lesson.  It looks like people could find out the name and location of anyone calling them on their home phone.  Not saying there's not a legitimate concern, but these people are bothering me a whole lot more than the illegals so many are worried about.  These calls are a mild form of domestic terrorism and the terrorist need to be dealt with harshly.

You're giving them too much credit. They start with a robo call. When you answer, they add you to their list of working numbers. Then you will get more calls. They can also sell your number for more money because they have located a working number.

About a month ago I thought about the fact that my fax machine is hooked up to my phone line, so I thought I'd start answering these type calls with it.  Since then I've went from a couple of calls per night to only a couple of calls per week.  Robocall machines delete fax numbers, and humans mark them off their list.

Why can't someone who knows something...say the DNC people, put some type of response out here to those who are being harassed.  These people ought to be jailed for harrassment.  That's why society is  messed up.  They are not even telemarketers...

Reported multiple times of the last few months with DNC list. Number changes from time to time, but it's the same recording.

Best advice I can give is just block the number and be done with it. I use vonage so I'm not able to do it yet. Looking at VOIP.com now as a result.

I've blocked all the numbers (12) that Comcast permits.  I hate  to change phone service cause I've got internet and tv with them also.  Blocking works for some numbers but Rachel and Card Services just change numbers.  I know 3 of my blocked numbers are for her and 1 more has same message but different gal, Karen or something like that.  It's going to take real enforcement of Do Not Call to stop this mess, something the govt and phone companies aren't willing to do for some reason.

All the pols must love them.  I talked to some one from the Tn Regulatory Authority (file complaints with them) and was told the Do Not Call law had too many loopholes in it.  The bad guys find ways around the law too easily.

I'm trying get one of the local tv station's investigative reporters to interview someone from the TRA and ask why the Do Not Call law isn't being enforced.  I think this might lead them to the state legislature for answers. Get these guys on tv and they might do something. No luck yet.

All this ignoring calls, hanging up, blocking calls, and filing complaints is going nowhere.  Wasting more time doing that than on the calls.

It's funny you should mention Romney. I have had several robo calls from him as well, including on my cell phone. Political advertisements over the phone should follow the same rules as everyone else I think.

It appears that the FTC is aware of "Rachel from cardservices" and have cracked down on some of her operations.
    From 2010: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/06/asiapacific.shtm
    From 2012: http://moneyland.time.com/2012/04/06/2-7-bill ... s-just-go-away/

Here is a video of how their operators try to scam you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAuW-A6vrq0

That you tube link was funny.  I'm glad the FTC has done something but the fact Rachel continues is not encouraging.  It bothers me that the FTC knows who these scammers are and can't, or won't, take significant action to stop it.  The law either needs more bite or better enforcement or both.

Although it wouldn't matter with respect violating the law, it would be somewhat different if this was a legit business.  These people aren't selling credit card services.  The just want our numbers.  The FBI needs to take a stab at this.

Lower Your Interest Rates - every time they call now, I press one and hope to get a person- sometimes I do and I tell them they need to take me off their list, but they haven't stopped calling.  This must be call #6 or 7 tonight at 4:45 p.m.  What on earth can I do?

407-454-9999 --- obviously a scam. The sad thing is this: The fact that they keep calling means that there are actually some dumb-[***] who fall for it.

It's just annoying!! i've submitted all my phone numbers to the donotcall.gov list - yet... alas... I still get them.

I press 1, get someone on the phone and then ask them question after question and get them to repeat the pitch multiple times. As soon as it seems possible, I start repeating the questions, just changing the wording ever so slightly. I LOVE wasting their time like they waste mine.
