I have contacted the FTC and gave  them the number which they are looking into it. I have a recorded conversation between the man and my attorney, My attorney asked him what is the name of his firm and what is his bar number when he realized it was a real attorney he hung up.

I recieved some of the same calls from 408-608-0924 telling me I owe them money for  a payday loan.  They told me charges would be brought against and the whole nine. I never receive a loan.
  On the second call,  I told him that my attorney told me to record the conversation, I acted like I turn on the voice recorder and he would not say anything.

i just got this call and it was an indian man that i couldnt even understand i tried to call back and it says all circuits are busy now... i have read the responses and i that they said it was instar cash so i googled that and there is nothing showing up so when i looked at this i now know that it is a scam. I am going to call back and follow the advice.

wow....i got this call to and i am so scared that they are going to try something with my information so i am putting a hit on  my social and i am never getting anything off the computer...again..i hope they are done calling me...

I recorded the conversation! I hope they can be located because I recorded the conversation and I would love to testify against them. They are a company out of India and Magic Jack and these other internet phones allows different countries to get any number they want including a US. number to make them seem legitimate. I have the Magic Jack and I was given the option to choose any area code so it is very easy.

I got this call to........literally pissed me off. said he was with the consumer affair and business regulation company....

These people are in India and they are using the Magic Jack internet Phone. These internet phones allows you to get any area code even if you are out the country. They play on peoples fears of getting sued. They almost had me fooled until they put me on hold and the same magic jack corny music started playing then I heard them typing and as they were talking the connection got really bad. The Magic Jack's connection gets bad when you are online. I know because I have the magic Jack as well and it gave me the option to use any area code in the US. I began to get suspicious so I said " I don't believe you are real because any reputable Law firm would state their name. I said I never took out any loan I applied and was denied. He said I have the affidavit right here. I said well let me call my Lawyer and you explain it to her. He hung up the phone. I called back and the Magic Jack internet phone said "the extension you have reached is not available". yes it says extension as if it is a real business but my phone says the same thing. I called back (now I am just having fun! after of course I put life lock security fraud on my credit) he answered and I said Hi I am a lawyer and my Client stated someone from this number was harassing her. he was still in character and he said your client owes 4000 dollars I then said this is a new account that you have listed so the bank account does not have any EFT transfers, he said your client took out the loan I have all the information here. I said the information you have is the application not the actual loan confirmation because it was never approved. I got tired of playing with him and I said I know this is a scam and you are on an internet phone and you are located in India and the FEDS are closing in on you. He hung up!

Got a message to give a call back asap that I was in a lot of trouble. I called back. An indian guy name of jason brown talk to me and went on to say he is a law ferm for instant cash. That I took a personal loan out and did not pay back. That they got me fraud. He asked me if I got my case number I told him I never received any thing. He asked me if he could look up my affladavid. I said no and he yelled at me. He told me my lawyer needed to call him. He had ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!! He did finally tell me he is based out of cali. And that with interest I owed 990.00.  I called police they told me they leagly can't pick me up arrest me nor take me to the court house for an investagation!! It was all a scam

I guess I am not the only one..I had same calls from this number..The guy by name Steven Butner, he threatened me to call NOW, he called me all day even at night, I was like what a hell, they work all hours..so that lead me to think its a Scam...I needed a payday loan and was refused on some, however I did provide my info, this dude couldn't even pronounce my first name, never mind he did not even have my last name...I am thinking about going and changing my social security its a threat...God knows what happens next...NEVER PROVIDE AND TAKE ANY ONLINE LOANS its a step to being falslely robbed by those IDIOTS

They left me a message saying god help me if i didn't call back. I called back and they told me I never paid a payday loan back. That they had sent me 16 emails that I never responded to, couldn't find one. Had all my information. Told me that the situation would be "executed" the following Monday. Said I owed 8800.00. I paniced because a few months back I did take out a few payday loans, even though it was against my better judgment, I was having terrible financial difficulties and I had no other choice. I paid them all back, no problem. When they told me about this loan, I thought maybe I missed one in all my financial mess and this might be legit. Dumb as I am I gave them the info they wanted, faxed a note saying i would  pay back 750.00 and gave them my info. I just wanted it to be over. Well they were not able to debit my card for that much so they kept calling me, like every 5 minutes, then asking how much was in my account and it just really started making me sick inside. I actually googled the number and came across this site. I immediately ran to the mac machine, took out as much as i could and called to cancel my card. 40 minutes after i cancelled my card they tried to debit 700, then 200. I thank everyone for posting here. Thank goodness the mac is right down the street. They have been calling me all day. Some of the names were Jude and the main one was "Coriana Star".  I have reported this to the authorities and it will be investigated.

Several months ago, I applied online for a loan through CashNetUSA to cover holiday expenses. Not the smartest thing I've ever done, but that loan was paid promptly. I was smart enough to only give them my Google Voice number for a phone contact, because I'm well aware that these sorts of companies routinely sell their customer info to recoup some of their losses from loaning to deadbeats, and GV is very easy to configure to block telemarketers and scammers.

Starting about three weeks ago, 408-608-0924 (and 01140 86080924) began calling my number. Since they weren't smart enough to get past GV's call screener, I only saw the number as a missed call in GV. I ended up turning off the screener for non-anonymous calls for a different reason, and these idiots finally got through.

Long story short, our English-challenged friend wasn't too thrilled when I cut off his pitch almost immediately and told him that I was well aware of the scam, and that I knew he was most likely not even in the United States. He attempted to argue (which didn't work when I wouldn't even let him get a word in), then asked me to "hold the line for my officer". After about a minute of dead air (I presume I was "on hold"), I simply hung up and blocked the number.

If I had more time to screw with this idiot,  I would have. You can do it for us, though. String these idiots along as long as you can. Get them to deliver their whole script. The longer they spend dealing with people who know who they are, the less time they have to work on people who might actually be ignorant and scared enough to pay them.

I was called and told that he ws a company calling on behalf of the legal departmetn of payday loans. that I owed a lender money (I do not!!). that Legal action is beign taken. This Guy new my name, @ least the last 4 of my SSN (maybe more), who my bank is, were I work, my address, my email address everything. I was told that "Someone" (not sure who as I was not able to understand all he said, moderate indian accent) ws either goign to show up @ my work or @ my home. He keep askign me "So, what would like to do". I told him What am I suppose to do I have no idea what you are even talking about. I am positive that he was trying to get my credit card info over the phone but I hung up on him. I knew it was a scam.....WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY!!!!

I was advised to take it directly to the DA, I am assuming in CA ,as that is were the # is coming from. its owned by pac-west telecom and comes out of campbell, CA. I was advised that reporting to your local police department is a waste of time, take it to the state its coming from. Don't quote me just a word of advise passed to me from another.

Pac-West Telecom is a wholesaler. They sell blocks of telephone numbers to businesses and internet providers, including VOIP providers such as MagicJack.

they have been doin this same thing to my fiance and we have reported it to our police dept. i recomend everyone doin this! they have given us 4 different names and its the same person calling. best thing to do is get all info from them and call the pd.

I got a call today from this number saying that I owe a payday loan from last year that I never got. He had all my info from my ssn to my home address. He said that there were legal actions agaisnt me and that I owe $8,000 in legal fees. I think this is a scam cause I've never had a payday loan in my life.
