Well I have read all the postings and I also received a call today from number 213-426-8996 and the guy with an accent said that he was calling from an attorneys office based in California by the name of John Davenport. They said that they would file an arrest order and their investigators would come and arrest me. They have all my information and even an old bank account of mine. I did apply for a payday loan but it was denied. What should I do?

Ignore it. The threats of arrest are to scare you into giving them a CC# or sending them a wire transfer.

I received a call from 408-608-0924 also stating that I took out a online payday loan and said I had till Tuesday or I would need to be at court.   JUDE also stated he was calling from JOhn Davenport law and attorney office.  They also wouldn't give me a address told me that they didn't have to provide me a address.  They have called me several time

Jude also called me several times and left me the same messages the same time like he is reading it off a paper.  I asked for a address and he hung up

Jude , John Davenport keep calling saying that I took out a payday loan and I owe money.  When I ask for the address all they tell me is that they can't provide this to me that they dont' have to.   When I told him I didn't have a loan he hung up when I called back they kept saying to leave them alone.   What can we do about this they have alot of information

I recieve a similar call today .They told me to go to the court tommoro at 11am but with no details .I asked  where and what case number  he hung up on me .I have no idea what thier talking about and my husband asking them for more info but can;t give anything.

Its a scam, trying to get you to wire money.  Turned info over to local DA and PD.  Can't provide original loan date or amount.  was told "in the last 18 months"    Very Indian sounding gentleman, very rude and couldn't provide details. Closed my bank account though just to be sure.

Have never taken out a payday loan, applied and was denied.

I spoken to about 4-5 different men telling me I owe a payday loan I never even heard of the company. They kept on asking me my name as would not give me any info about my account. They even kept speaking rude to me and hanging up in my face. Norman, & John Davernpot were the name used.

I gotta a call at my job from a indian sounding man that called himself steven mcdonald claiming to to work for John Davenport Attorney legal services. They said I took a loan out with some company and threaten to have the people come and get me and I would be arrested if I don't pay the $948 settlement fee. They told me to fax my CC# and a copy of my DL they have a diffrent number now

i just got a call from a guy with an accent calling for john davenport the attorney and he is calling from 5594714078 and said he would have his people come pick me up from work and take me to jail

Yes I got a call today at work from a different number but it was from "John Davenport Attorney Law Offices" saying i was going to be arrested monday on 3 counts of fraud because i didnt pay back a loan from payday loan. I did take out a loan from pay1day loan through soloman finance and did pay them back. I kept saying to him that I have no debts and I already paid my loans of months ago. He read me my "affidavit" and kept calling me a fraud. they also call from these two numbers 562-364-0629 and 516-515-7744. I was told to call the 562# and ask to speak to John Davenport. Well once i confirmed this was a scam by getting proof that I had paid off my loans and calling the company that i had gotten the loan from, I called back and spoke with a "Brian" and gave him my two cents worth when he kept calling me a fraud. The funny part is, when i called back, I never identified who i was. He yelled at me and said he's going to do everything he can to get me to court and throw me in jail, then hung up on me. It's kinda comical now. What I dont understand is why these people aren't getting caught and if anybody in the USA is even looking into it.

i got a call from 6029267340 his name was kevin fernandez but he sounded indian. he said i owed a paydayloan. and they are charging me with fraud deception and something else. i asked him if he can send me a document stating the amount i owe or when it was but then he said he cant give me any info. i told him i wanted to make sure they were legit. he said he will have me arrested. and i have to go to court. i asked for a manager he said they have an attorney/manager named john davenport. he said they couldnt give me any info, unless i pay. once i pay they will give me a confirmation and the document stating how much i owed. i told him to send me any document of proof that i owe but he was rude, and said "why are you asking to many questions, i will see you in court goodluck"    its so weird, if they were legit why cant they show proof of any kind. i told him i will only pay if they show me proof. but then he still insisted that they are not allowed to give info. its BS

I F-ing HATE these people! They've call me at work 3 times now! Saying I owe varying amounts. But when I try to get any more info then their name and number they become very rude and hang up! Who can I report them too??? Its very embarassing to get these calls at work! And they have ALL my information so I'm scared to piss them off too much...the number they called from was (909)436-4472.

I have sent money to thes people 3 times. They keep threating me with the wrong account numbers and they refuse to give me any information on them or to ven mail me a copy of our agrement but they want me to fax them information. When i talked with th company i had made the loan with they said they dont have outside firms working with them. The Guy could not even give me the name of the company who sent my information to them he said that they have over 300 smaller branchs and he did not have that information.

I have been receiving the same calls since March. I contacted the Federal Trade Commission today at 202-326-2222. They took all the information I had down. They told me the more people that call the more will be done. Please call them and report what happened to you so we can stop this scam. THANKS.

I have sent them money 3 times too. I reported this today to the Federal Trade Commission at 202-326-2222. I gave them all the information I have. They said the more people that report this the higher possibility something will be done about it. Please call and report what you know. THe Federal Trade Commission told me all 3rd party debt collectors have to provide something in writing regarding any money that is owed. And this all sounds like a scam. Please report. THANKS.

Got a phone call from these people back in May, 2010... Same as all the other posts here, I took out a payday loan... they were taking me to court if I did not pay them... they wanted all my info & wouldn't give me ANY of theirs! I finally got a # for them today (8/2010) I called them back & they answered with a vague "Law Office" when I asked who was the practicing attorney I was told she didn't have to tell me anything & that I should have my head examined for calling! We did this for several times, 1st was law office, then law office of Florida, then just a hello! I called them back in rapid secession. On the 5th call, the # said it was disconnected! Imagine that! Anytime I have a chance I will go toe to toe with these criminals! Beat them at their own game, give them NO INFO! ASK QUESTIONS, make THEM answer YOU! They will run!!!

I got the same phone call like many of you! NEVER give them anything! EVER!!! A legit place would be happy to tell you what you owe if anything. ASK THEM QUESTIONS!!!! About anything regarding their call. Ask them about the weather if you have to! Mostly tell them you are taping the call, and turning it over to the D.A's office, Attorney Generals office, Sheriff's office... I promise you wont even get to say half of that because they hate questions, it really gets to them & that is what you want to do. Cause THEM some grief instead of them getting to you! I promise they will also block YOUR # after about the 4th or 5th call to them!
