I got a call from this number and I don't answer..there is never a voicemail...REally annoying...I refuse to answer but wish there was some legal way to find out who the heck this is...

Has anyone tried to sell anything online and then start getting these calls?  I put something up to sell on craigslist and someone replied I gave them my number to contact me, and started getting these calls.

I answered and they said it was for the Career Institute.

This number is also calling my son's cellphone # but won't leave a message and he won't answer because he doesn't recognize the phone number

It's Career Institute.  They want you to go to school or some crap.  Sounds like a scam to me.

This number call my underage son and told him that he had won something and asked to see if he had a bank card or credit card that he could give them the number to claim the prizes. My kids are smarter than that to give some stranger any info about anything.

If you call from a land line it's Career Institute.i have inquired online about grants and going back to school.they never leave a message and when you call back from your cell phone it's rings once and a voice comes on and says thank you,goodbye.

They call, no messages left.

i have gotten soo many calls from this number 410-774-8401 i cant tke it any more this is a maryland number and it doesnt belong to anyone i know there -- i have called them and asked ... what am i to do

Got the call on my personal cell phone.  The caller asked for me by my first name.  He said he was calling about an online form I completed expressing interest in online college courses.  I've never completed any form about online college courses.  I asked him to remove my name from the calling list.  We'll see how well that works...

received call from 410-774-8401 and like everyone else they did not leave a message but the caller ID said CI Institute

If this is a marketing call I do not want to received marketing call in my cell phone it causes me extra expesenses.

Phone Call but no message

I called the FCC about these and about 10 other numbers that all started calling around the same time.  I talked to the FCC rep. and he said next time they call answer and play along (?!??). You're supposed to ask the name of the company you're speaking with, ask for the person's name, and what they're selling.  The rep. said to act interested, or they're likely to hang up. After you've gotten the information, tell them you're on the Do Not Call list and it's illegal to contact you again.  If they contact again, the rep. said you can file a complaint. The website is www.fcc.gov or the help line is 877-382-4357. The rep. specifically said that you can ONLY file a complaint if you've gotten a return call after you've told the telemarketers you're on the Do Not Call List.  So now I'm just waiting, ready to pounce.

These people continue to call but when I answer, the message asks me to hold for the next representative then after a few seconds the line goes dead.

This is annoying and I would like to pursue sanctions against this kind of marketing since I am on the DNC registry.
