I am the president of Shopco Foods, I have been in the frozen food business for 45 years and have enjoyed a good reputation in this business. Over the last 3 years we have had a multi-million dollar fraud perpetrated against our company. Even though we are getting negative press we are serving our customers to the best of our ability. If anyone would like to phone me personally, they can reach me during the day at 416-438-1108. If anyone would like to deal with Shopco, we do have a good program and we welcome any future customers. We are being unfairly persecuted by the CRTC without any investigation whatsoever, with phone numbers that do not belong to our company that they said we have used. After having made over three-hundred-thousand calls they said we have called five people who were on the do not call list and we are appealing their decision. This country should not be socialistic as what the government wants it to be. The CRTC is a make-work project for bureaucrats.

I do uderstand you need to make a living, but you must respect my wishes, because i am on the DNC list.Please stop calling my number.

Norman Gaal I work for shopco now called Beefeater Foods and you never paid me my last week salary. I admit I was not the best telemarketer but you should have paid me my last week salary.
I can not. tell anyone who is reading this whether or not to buy from Beefeaters Food formly shopco but I will tell you all to read the BBB report. They were revoked last December because of bad service.  Read all the reports online  about Shopco, Beefeater and norman gaal and make your own judgement.
They are thiefs to employee and customers.

They operate as Canadian Find Foods, Ontario Fine foods, Grocery Group, Shopco Food Provisioners, BeefEaters Food Provisioners.  Its all a scam.  Dont order from them!

They scam people of their hard earned money.  Warn everyone you can about then and their sister company (same family, last names of the owners)  Canadian Fine Foods (web site no longer operating due to flood of complaints at every level) aka Ontario Fine Foods aka Grocery Group aka Food Group.

I have dialed that number for many weeks and I have still not received my part 2 delivery. I have gotten the run a round too many times.  You still owe me 2000.00 dollars of food. I went with Northern Provincial Foods and I have not had a problem since.

This company's business is to scam people out of their money.  They don't ship you your entire order, and hope you will just give us trying.  There are a few of us already who have gotten together to have this place held responsible for their scam.  Feel free to contact us at foodscam@hotmail.com and give us an update, and hopefully we can help each other.

Your company does not delivery what they promised, I have called many times for my second half, no one called me back.  Good, keep my food, I will tell everyone I come in contact with to stay away from all food companies.

They are also selling under Chambers food. I was with Shopco Foods, I had a bad experience and a telemarketer by the name of John Bungaro, nice fellow convinced me to give them a try again because they were robbed millions of dollars. well I gave them a try and I received some bad products. When it was time for my second half, Chambers Food delivered my food. I was told Shopco/Beeafeater foods now is linked with Chambers Food.  Beware of these guys Norman Gaal, Ron Gaal, Louise Gaal and John Melnick.

Many people feel they have been scammed by this company. The Gaal or Atkinson-Gaal family owns CANADIAN FINE FOODS, ONTARIO FINE FOODS, GROCERY GROUP, SHOPCO FOOD PROVISIONERS, BEEFEATERS FOOD PROVISIONERS. They keep closing and opening under a new name. Above is an example BeefEaters/Shopco top of the line Rib and New York Strip steaks. Please notice the excessive amount of fat which is consistent with a lower quality of meat.  On my order I have checked off "larger steaks" about 12-14 oz. The salesman billed me for 34 lbs of the New York Strip however I received 15 lbs and they are back ordered 15lbs which is shorting me by 4 lbs (I was billed for).  Also, I ordered 30lbs of Rib Steaks and only received 15lbs with BeefEaters/Shopco's backordering another 15lbs.

Please note also, the average weight per steak is no where close to 12 to 14oz.  This is a big issue for me.  Most of the steaks received are about 10oz  with  about 1/3 coming in at 7 oz.  My family has owned and operated grocery stores with their own fresh butcher/meat departments.  As a previous store owner and butcher I would classify theses cut comparable to a blade steak.  They are definite not premium quality cuts as was expressed by your salesperson.

The roasts I ordered were suppose to serve 10- 14 people.  I called your customer service and spoke with Louise (two days before the order was received) and explained that I definitely needed a few large Prime Rib Roasts.  She confirmed that this request would be looked after.  The roasts received were extremely small.  I told the sales rep I wanted only quality roasts and I would rather have less roasts that were larger than have many small ones.



I also requested with the sales rep to ensure that the Turkeys that were sent were large enough to serve 14 to 25 people but the came in at 13lbs. Which is no where close to the size required to feed that many people.   With the sizes that were sent, they are of no use to me.  No I will have to spend more money as I will have to buy larger ones at Christmas and Thanksgiving.








I ordered 52lbs of Pork Back Ribs.  The invoice says that 23lbs were shipped but only 22 lbs were received.  The invoice also says that 23lbs were back ordered but that still leaves me short 7lbs of ribs that I was billed for.  In addition, the rack is not a full rack and has been cut to roughly the size of 1lbs of hamburger.




In addition, I ordered and was charged for 26 lbs of pork loin chops.  However, I received pork rib/butt chops.  I received 12 lbs, back ordered 12lbs, short 2lbs.



- I ordered 16lbs of Tilapis billed for 16lbs, received 5, back ordered 5, short 6lbs
- I ordered 13lbs of Sole, billed for 13lbs, received 5lbs, back ordered 5lbs, short 3lbs.


- I ordered 48lbs of Stewing Beef, billed for 48lbs, received 23lbs, back ordered 23lbs, short 2lbs.

I made an additional call to Louise two days before the order was received.  I was told that the Quaker Oatmeal flavour that I ordered was not available and they were going to send the variety pack.  I stated that I did not want the variety and pack and Louise agreed to send Sidekicks (Broccoli & Cheese flavour) instead.  The variety pack was sent anyway (no sidekicks received).

Finally, I ordered 24 bottle of White Vinegar, was charged for 24 bottles but only received 8 with no indication of a back order

Please see below some of the issues that I have with the meat:every one should go to the better business bureau You are rated F and You and Louise lie and rip people off. I have wittness that you got the entire order back and a signed ivoice from your driver.

Shopcofoods AKA Beefeater foods sent John Melnick to my home, we placed an order and canceled with in 10 days in writting. Shopco still cashed my cheques. I called the office and someone told me John Melnick was the one who cashed my cheques.
