- MissyI wish they stop calling my number I'm old and sick ......
- MikeWhen you answer and you think they hung up,, its not a person,l its an automated device which looks for a Fax tone, if it doesnt hear one then its auto hangs up and tries again later. There are 2 ways they call you. One is on a preferred dialing system of which after you pick up it takes them a second or so to answer, this is because the automated software listens for you to pick up and when you do, you are next in line for the next sales agent,, and or its their fax software thinking that your number is a fax number, hence, call the main office as stated in previous posts and asked to be removed. also please do complain to the ontario BB as stated previously.

- karenwhy is someone from this number calling me
- Caller: 416-646-8791
- hello kittyI also think it's the globe and mail because have a subscription. coincidence?
- vince replies to tiredI work nights and was getting these call all day. So I
called the Globe and Mail sales dept. and complained, about the non stop
calls. She apologized and said she would take me off her calling list.
She then had the balls to ask me if I was interested in receiving their
paper! I told her that if their paper was the last one on earth I would
not subscribe because of this harassment. If anyone gets these calls
you might want to call the Globe and complain. Then at that point they
might get their telemarketing office under control. People can fight back
with all these phone scams! - JEMPhoned but did not leave a message or name on display.

I'm from Montreal ... this is wierd.... - SpuddyHow to deal with telemarketers 101
Step 1 Get a Cell phone instead of a home phone, cheap plans work too
Step 2 Choose to put the number on do not answer (Reject Call List) It's on the phone.
Step 3 After it's on the (reject list) download an app called Ringo Lite (FREE)
Step 4 Put the phone number into your contacts
Step 5 Set the ring type to SILENT.
Done.
My experience is that I have many calls from Air Duct Cleaning services. They apparently get money for each answered line, regardless if the person buys anything. Sounds like a Indian person on the other end of the line who identifies himself as Joseph each time. Same person? Who knows?
Calling the CRTC and lodging a complaint against the number is fruitless as they are using a spoofing dialer that puts out unassigned numbers and besides the CRTC does nothing about these callers regardless. Same as calling the police, what would be nice is to put this number on auto forward to the Police, or RCMP and then they would do something.- Caller: Air Duct Cleaning Services
- FedupAnswered this call, and no one was on the line. I called the number back and it was an automated answering machine for IV Automated Customer Service Line on behalf of Globe & Mail. I left them a message they wont soon forget. Feel free to call them back and leave them warm wishes on their answering machine ;-) I have free longdistance on my phone plan, so I can (and might) do this all day. I hope I fill their hard drive with my rant er, best wishes... ;-) ;-)
