When I answered there was a ringing back over the ear peice, then someone said hello then silence so I hug up. Very annoying!

This is a company that has been hired by the Scotia group of companies. To be removed from their call list,
A) answer the call and ask to be removed, or
B) call the number back, you will ALWAYS get a voicemail recording. press "0" and when the CSR answers asked to be removed and give your number to them, and you will be removed within 48 hrs.
** you may still receive a call within this time frame, be patient!**

Again this number has called. This is the second time posting this. I called back, something to do with scotia life financial??  When I called back I left a message saying "remove me from the call back list,..." then gave my number. Apparently there is some type of list and if you ask to be removed the caller has to remove you. Also, depending on location if they call a certain amount per week and speak with you more then 3 times, that is harassment and the beginning to lay charges. They know by the time everything is said and done its nothing but a pain in the [***] and no one has the time to follow through with legal actions!

I don't even have an account with Scotia Bank, and I keep getting these calls.

Got two calls from them, one of which was at 8:22pm EST!....left no message

Yes there is.  Sign up for the 'do not call list', and report them every time they call you (after the 31 day wait time).  Currently (for 2009, 2010), the CRTC has outstanding AMP's (fines) in the amount of $195,000.00 (or more) plus outstanding interest.  This does not stop some calls, but you are able to be put on their "in-house" do not call list, which they must also honor. (same wait time).  After the wait time, you can also report them to the CRTC.  (Bell Canada recently paid a $1.3 million dollar AMP).

*CRTC can only regulate calls from Canada (or calls requested by Canadian companies), as far as I know.

I too have received multiple, multiple calls from these guys!

Nothing will stop solicitation calls from calling, not legislation, and they just laugh at "do not call list" and continue with their practice. It's time to get back my phone for my own personal use. I bought a blow horn for this purpose. I blast their ears, loud and clear. Come on telemarketers, bring it on. I await for your call. More people should do this. Maybe they will stop if more people do this. Don't take it lying down. Get even!

If you're their customer, the "do not call" list doesn't apply.

i keep getting calls from them since i do business with that bank you would think they would have the courtesy of leaving a message, but found a new feature on my phone call block so bye to them .i suggest to everyone to find a phone with that feature.

I love to get calls from telemarketers. I just blast their ears with a blow horn. My motto is "get even". "Don't take it laying down". They will just laugh at your "do not call list". Don't even bother.

They asked me if I want their life insurance. I do bank with them but already have with another company and said as much. Told them if they want send be a package but I don't have time to discuss it on the phone. They called again, but hung up as I answered . T.D did the same thing to me years ago as well. Oh well.  Do not call is a scam. They probably sell you number too. I have heard that they do, but who knows?!

to the person setting off a blowhorn to the poor employee on the other line- that's absolutely cruel, insensitive, and completely unecessary.  

I sincerely hope next time you go to work to try to make a living and support yourself and/or your
family, that every single person you encounter does their best to ruin your day. I hope that like the person calling you to sell a product as part of their effort to support his or herself, you get hung up on and personally insulted up to 100 times that day.

In this economy, one should simply appreciate the fact that other are trying to work for their money, doing any job they can get, in order to survive and not further exhaust our government resources by claiming social aid.

I suggest the next time you have the urge to respond to a caller with such an immature and malicious response such as a blowhorn, try to picture a single mother, a starving student, or one of your own children on the other line. Perhaps then you will be able to respond with a simple "no, thanks" and politely ask to be removed from their completely randomized, preset call list.

I keep getting a call from this number and no one is there most of the time.  I am so very frustrated.  They call anytime and everyday--pratically--UGH  They gotta quit calling me
