- Ben replies to KayI have just been going through the exact same thing with this oxygen thief, offered me more than I was asking and asked for my banking details and a courier would pick up my car. Seemed strange when the enquiry came from an International number when he has no mobile reception where he is currently working in Darwin. He wanted my reason for selling and said straight up that he wanted it and would look after it better than I ever did!!!
He kept hassling me for my details so I told him that my BSB is [***] and my ACC# YOU PIECE OF [***] hahahahahahaha - Almost conned replies to KayHi there,
Thank you for posting your story up on here. My bf just received a similar correspondence from the same email j.russell580@hotmail.com. He got to the stage of giving the bank account details and agreeing to use his money to pay through western union. I then did a quick search and found your message and later another one warning about this email being a scammer. I cannot believe Paypal?? There were 2 other emails that we received which were scammers as well. These were daved1516@gmail.com and bentpark44@yahoo.com. So we quickly sent another email back saying the car is no longer for sale as as we get a better offer. It's all a bit shocking really. I am just glad that people like you post up there stories otherwise we'd all be conned! So thank you! - Hel+41798073040 received call, stop spam calls or texts messages!

What is your asking price ?
I won't be able to come over because presently, i'm working away in Darwin on a research project but i have equally arranged the courier agent that will come for the pick up and transfer of ownership after payment have been made, so you don't have to worry about that.
Kindly send me your bank details as i'm ready to transfer the money into your bank account.
Kind Regards,
John.
AND
I will like you to re-confirm your asking price and possibly send me more pictures of the interior and i will be happy if you remove the AD from the site and consider me as your favorite buyer buy ignoring all other offers and be sure i will give the best of offers.

j.russell580@gmail.com. about buying my car. Offered me what i wanted courier and transfere as well and insists on my details. please do NOT send any details through the internet to ANYONE and if you must confirm with your bank about the security risks and how to go about it in a different way.
Dissidia - Fix 'Em good! replies to kitty| 1 replyI would suggest that any scammer that uses an email address, copy the email address then sign them up to receive e-newsletters from lots of companies. Bombard their in-boxes with junk mail!

- zadir replies to marinellaSei rumena o hai un conto in romania ? perchè ho ricevuto un sms identico al tuo !!
- Jop. replies to CDYes it's from google,it's been a little time ago when I got similar SMS too, but the difference was that I filled my phone number to a Google account settings. When I filled this code to a verification on Gmail it was OK and it worked. If you didn't fill it anywhere, so maybe someone else :) So this the reason of the verification I think :) You have to confirm that it's your number so if I were you I wouldn't do anything ;)
- SAMUELI have also received the message about times.

- Rebecca replies to Ian and KatyHey, that number isn't a spam call, its a wide network number thats used by alot of servers such as ebay, microsoft etc. the number is an automated service number that these companies use to send messages or responses from the website if it's been set up.
- Mammoth Hunter replies to KayI also fell foul of this guy.
I'm selling a motorbike in Tasmania through Gumtree and also got the SMS asking for details, photos, etc to be sent to the email j.russell580@gmail.com saying he couldn't look at the bike because he was in Darwin.
Then 'Steve' asked for help with a courier payment via Western Union. The same thing happened ... Paypal, payment pending until I sent my own money to China, (or 'the china' as he called it). Bogus paypal messages and finally, threats. I got on to the real Paypal site and reported it to their scam link. They replied to say that it WAS a scam and to NEVER respond to the link on the fake email, as this just links straight back to the scammers. Only ever contact Paypal by going to the paypal.com site directly. It is DEFINITELY a fraud and is targeting private auto sales. You are NOT going to have legal action against you, they are NOT going to impound your vehicle or take your license off you (both threats they tried with me).
I just wonder how many people they have robbed so far. - Mammoth replies to KayI also fell foul of this guy.
