- Charles B| 5 repliesReceived a call from IMR and the guy says they are taking me to court on a debt, would I like to settle before they take my bank accounts and credit cards. I asked him what he was talking about and he said it was a $15,000 Mastercard. I laughed, for 2 reasons, a Mastercard, and $15,000 in credit. He said wait, it was a Visa. I laughed again and asked him who he was. He said he had only been doing this for 3 years and he would get the manager.
The manager said it was a Ford loan from 1999 and I needed to pay it. I asked him he if knew the law about threatening court action and informing someone of a debt. He said his firm wasn't under the laws of the the FTC, which made me laugh again.
I now have a lawyer who is going to go after these guys.- Caller: IMR

- TH replies to Charles B| 1 replyI got call as well. Not even for ME! Same phone number. Sounds like it is a scam!
- Matt replies to Charles BWhat lawyer took your case- am having the same issue and they disclosed info to a third party
- JImiI got a call from the same number today, from a Mark Lynch saying he was the head of mediation for IMR, told me about me being notified of some form of legal action against me, and that I needed to call him back at 1-855-248-4369 ext 3972. I called the number back and got what sounded like a young woman named Jordan that transferred me to said extension, after some really cheesy music I got a voice mail. I did not leave a message cause I know better than to open my mouth. After reading what Charles B put it really does sound like a scam. Beware of this number.

- Bob Loblaw replies to Charles B| 1 replyHey... Do you have any update??? I just got a call from these guys stating that they are going to sue me...
- A little worried here replies to Bob LoblawI got another call from them today but this time I said hello and they hung up??? not sure if they are legit or not.
- The exI got a call on my machine from them today looking for my ex-husband who I divorced in 1994. He has been dead for 2-1/2 years and they did not know that. However, they found me with a new name and a new number that I cannot even find online as we changed our phone number in December when we closed our business and went back to a residential line.
They said they need to speak to my ex regarding a legal matter he was involved in. I told them that was going to be difficult since he was dead. They asked who had power of attorney over his estate. I told them that I doubted one existed since he died with $7 in his pocket that was reportedly all he had. I told them if they were calling about money he was owed, I had two children who he still owed over $40,000 and that they could send it to them. I told them if they were looking to collect, good luck and remove my number from their list. They said they would remove my number. Guess he owed others money as well.- Caller: IMR
- mitchel davisMy parents and in-laws both received calls from imr today saying they are wanting to talk to me or my spouse. When we call back to see what this is all about, they will not answer. Why are they calling everyone but me. this is a scam!!!!!!

- MP| 2 repliesI just got a call from a "John Carter" at IMR on my unlisted telephone at home. He had the last four digits of my SSN and "claimed" I owed more than $20,000 on a MasterCard bill and this was going to my county court. What a crock! Never had a MasterCard and I certainly wouldn't run up a $20,000 bill!
Who do I contact to report these people, and John Carter of IMR? I REALLY don't appreciate calls like thus at dinner time.- Caller: IMR

- MP replies to MP| 1 replyoops..... Almost forgot. "John Carter" also said the last payment I made on this "MasterCard" account at Citizens Bank was October of 2010!!! I've NEVER had an account with them or a MasterCard. Beware.
He also asked me to not be so combative on the phone. Well, guess what? Try it again to find out what happens. - Susan replies to MPI've received 3 of these calls. All on credit cards I have but with no balances. Can someone refer me to lawyer so I can report them. I traced their number and out of Wash state.
- dshadI JUST got a message from a woman at IMR saying that she needed to speak to me or my attorney regarding accounts and my personal property before legal action is taken?!? Since this seems to be a trend I'm not interested in even calling her back...

- John| 1 replyI received a call from this number 425-670-8405 and no left a message. So if this company calls and leaves no messages, then shouldn't be in business and they should not call anyone. Possible a tell marketer, since they would leave any messages.
- Randall Goins is an EX FELON replies to JohnDo not answer your phone this guy went to jail for 10 years for shooting someone - he is a dangerous, narcissistic scammer. http://www.kirotv.com/news/news/crime-law/w ... not-paid/nHcrx/ Report call to Snohomish police.
- MaryReceived the same kind of message - saying I should contact an attorney or personal representative as they have intent to (could not make out the next few words). Insisted I call back. Sounded like they were saying I owed money or they would go after my personal property. If I hear from them again, I will contact the AG's office in Washington, as well as their local sheriff.

- Linda Scopa| 1 replyThese guys buy "old" debt, stuff that legally cannot be collected. They pay about $0.05 for every $100 of debt that was defaulted. The bank or credit card company or whatever has already written off the debt, or know that the unsecured debts of the dead die with them, or that no debt can be collected on after seven years.
They work hard to find any data about the debt holder, so they will call Bob Carson and Robert Carson and Bobby Carson and Robin Carson to try to track you down, Ideally, they'll find your grandma or someone who is naive enough to be bullied into paying a debt for which there is no docuementation and no legal recourse and no need to pay. They rely on the ignorance of the law and intimidation to bully you (or a family member) into paying.
They have your info (last four of your SSN, DOB, etc) because the original lein holder had it and sold it to get the bad debt off their books. If they get paid on just one of the hundreds of debts they buy, they break even; if they collect on two, they make 100% return on their money. They may even have rolled a package of these debts into a hedge fund and have a bunch of fat cats bankrolling the illegal debt collection.
No need to take this call. Ever. And if you do, ask to record the call. They will end it. Or ask to have them send you a full accounting of the debt in writing. You'll never hear from them again.- Caller: Investment Management Service
