So here's how you get back at these [***]...  Call after hours, dial the extension of the person calling you, leave a short message, hit # to deliver message, hit * to dial another extension, dial same extension and leave another message and repeat as many times as you can...  What does this do?  The [***] scum bag will have to spend all morning clearing his Full V-mail box rather than harressing people... 1 long message doens't work, they will just delete it, but lots of short ones, they have to listen to each to make sure it's not a real client...  This will DRIVE THEM CRAZY!!  Try it it's fun!

Got a call from the Collection agency McCarthy, Burgess And Wolf who left a message on the voice mail of one of my employees that stated my account reference number and that my account was in collections. His name was Chris.
He aslo advised that he was an attorney.  This agency is not attorneys they are simply a collection agency. Since I had this on the voice mail they were clearly in Violation of the FDCPA By informing a third party of this so called debt they said I owed in which I do not.  Since they were in violation of the FDCPD they had to pay me $1000.00 and close this account. I just received my check through my attorney.  It pays to keep records when they call. I wish they would call again because I could rack up some more money. Thank you McCarthy, Burgess, And Wolfe.

I also recieved calls from this company with a very rude menber Calling many times per day. They are very upsetting to speak with. telling me about putting my name on credit report etc. Not sure how to handle there threats. I will goto court since this is what they are telling me they are going to do!

Got a call from them -left the voice mail as many others are saving.  I called them back to see what all the fuss was about (and recorded the message), but they were very cordial.  They asked for my case number, I told them, they asked if I was Jason somebody or another, and I said no.  They asked if my phone # was new, and I informed them I just got it 2 months ago.  

The lady thanked me and told me she would take my number out of the system.

I was skeptical, but it seems to be legit I suppose.  I'll let you all know for sure if they keep calling though!

The office IS NOT an attorney's office.  To stop their calls, you must send a certified letter (demanding that they stop calling you) with a return receipt to the address of the number calling you which, in this case, is a series of names used to intimidate you:   McCarthy, Burgess, and Wofff sounds jsut like a group of attorneys doesn't it?  BUT, they aren't.  Also, send a copy of your letter to the State Attorney General of OHIO and asking for his help.  His name and address is:  Richard Corday, Ohio Attorney General   30 East Broad Street  17th Floor   Columbus, Ohio 43215.   Then, if the calls still do not stop take your letter to your local police department and file and official complaint.  Bill collectors cannot harass you which includes repeatedly use of the phone to annoy you.  Reality is....that they may close the office after enough complaints and open on the other side of town.  They is why it is vital to contact the Ohio State Attorney General in order for his office to have the acutal names and ID of the so called McCarthy, Burgess, and Wolff.  BE CERTAIN TO SEND A COPY OF YOUR CCOMPLAINT TO THE OHIO STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Thanks a lot.  These people are calling on my job, always an automated message with a reference number. They say that they are a law firm. Never ask for a person by name.  I'm so glad I did this search. I won't be returning the call.

McCarthy, Burgess & Wolfe are "fishing" for money.  I've never dealt with them before or have any bills over due.  Between 1/5/10 and 2/18/10 the made voice phone calls to my fax number which rejects them.  On 1/13/10 they sent me a fax but it was addressed to someone I've never heard of.  Fortunately my fax number is operated by Ring Central and I can block their number.

We have been getting these calls so I called back. Ask if it was Ok to record this call. They hung up on me. LOL

the 15 normally means its a direct dial to someone within the same company.

how can I report this and is there a case for harrassment or should I get an attorney to prevent these calls or sue them?

Keep calling for something I dont owe sent me a blank piece of paper and said it was a contract call me every day at all hours. Very rude and not very professional.

Richard Friedman pops up on my Caller Id, I dont know a R.F. so I know what to do; Do Not Answer. If they have such a tight case for whatever it is they claim that I allegedly owe then BRING IT!
It's simple, if they cant reach anyone they have no means of collecting any money. Eventually, they will move on. Why you ask because, if they don't move on they will eventually run out of money and have to close their doors. So, Do Not Answer. It's the best tactic.

Everyone out there that got a call from these scammers please read what I have to say.  I am trying to help.  If you owe a legitimate debt and don't pay it the company that claims you owe the debt will usually try to collect it from you first.  If that fails they report you to a collection agency who trys to collect the debt and if you don't pay they threaten to put the debt on your credit report which they may actually do.  What probably happened to most of you is that you were contacted by a telemarketer who claimed that you agreed to a contract, who may have recorded your voice over the phone.  If they had a valid contract with you, and although voice recording is valid the contract is not valid unless both partys have agreed to terms and conditions.  Both partys must agree on the service to be provided and how much payment is to be received and how often.  
 These bottom feeders know the sales game.  Telemarketers have gotten some of your information and they are trying to specifically collect for telemarketers.  I have done sales myself and I know the game.  There is a lot of emotional manipualtion in sales.  The "hot button" they advertise to their customers(the telemarkers and other illegitimate salespeople)about is how to get under your skin.  They say and do things to get you emotional that you don't think properly and make poor decisions.  It's a psychological game, and the truth is they may be better at it than you.  What you can do though is educate yourself which will help considerably.  Read and learn about emotional manipulation and consult an attorney who specialises in this type of illegitimate business pracitce usually the initial consultation is free and if you have a case for a law suit against these people who are harrassing you the lawyer may rerpresent you for a percentage of what you win in court.

214-646-3176  got a call locally from this number and they said call this number 440-735-5115 - i set my ringer tone to silent and now they can kiss my ass.

I JUST received a VM from Mrs. Lambert with McCarthy Burgess & Wolf at 440-735-5100 ext 4355 and told me to call them regarding a business matter and referenced a case number.  After reading below, I will not be returning their call.
