I get this call on my cell and home phone each day. This time I pressed 1 and contacted a guy who wanted to reduce my credit card rates. I told him to take me off the call list and he hung up on me.

This is a phishing scam. NEVER call the number back. That is how they determine they have a working number with a live victim on the other end.  Report these people immediately to your local district attorney, your state attorney general and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). What they are doing is highly illegal and a violation of several state and federal laws. “Do not call” registries are meaningless to these people – they are crooks. Since we can't shoot them, sending them to jail would be the next best thing. If they call and you speak with them, do NOT give them any personal information, but milk them for everything you can find out about them. Then report it immediately. These crooks appear to move quickly and often, but they are probably using “spoofed” numbers.  I've gotten calls from Seattle, Portland, New York, Detroit and St. Louis.

They keep doing the same thing to me.  When I speek to them and ask to be removed in person they hang up.
I have only begun to screw with them.

They call saying that my credit cards were eligible for a new program to lower the interest rate.  And I'm so tired of these calls that I decided to play along.  

Press one, and the guy gets on the phone, tells me I'm eligible for this great new program to lower the interest on my credit cards.

Long story short he wants my name, last four digits of my Social Security number, the type of card, the issuing bank and the card number with the expiration date.  

So as he's asking these questions, I'm writing up all the false information so I can recall it when he has to ask again, that way it's always consistent.  

We go through the process about three times and he's unclear on why he can't verify my card.  It is at that Point I'd tell and I don't have any credit cards and that he is an idiot. Also, that if he is going to waste my time I will waste his.

This credit card service phones scam needs to be shut down. Its annoying, intrusive and dangerous to the consumer.

I have had numerous calls from this number,  similar to the credit lower interest calls as mentioned by others.  I have also received calls from this number identifying as the no call registery.

Just received a call from this #.  Called it back from another phone, and there was a message saying that it is the "Do Not Call" Registry......

Weird!

This number called and I didn't answer. I called it back and got a message asking me to register my number on the Do Not Call list. I hung up and looked the number up here. Now I know it's not for real.

check out the National No Call Registry, that phone number is pretending to be them and they have a warning right on the front page of the website.. it reads : Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls. To add your number to the Registry you can call 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register, or go click on “Register a Phone Number” in the left column of this page.

I didn't answer but at 9:44 at night I would have thinking there was an emergency.

I filled out a request with the FCC, I hope everyone on this site does the same.

That is a good idea....I named my contact list for those types of calles....NOPE   :-)

Calls about credit status. How did they get my number? How do I makle these calls stop? I'm on th do not call list.

Got a call from this number about registering for the do not call list. They wanted me to start by entering my phone information and that's where I stopped. I could tell something was fishy

I am on the No-Call List and am receiving calls from this unknown number 5035630155.

They called,,,didn't leave a message and I didn't call back. Folks...read & heed Boston's advice as it exactly the way it is!

I have reported this number before on this website, but this time I pressed 1 to speak to someone about their 'offer' the guy got on the phone and said "are are you calling about the credit card offer" I said "yes I would love to know what company I am speaking to" and he hung up.

I do the same. I save these #s to my cell phone address book under the name "Junk" and block it. Then I can look at my call log & see how often they've called. Annoying thing is that the area code is similar to a legitimate call I get.

its a credit card phishing scam.  they want any information they can get from you.  dont answer or give them any information.  they should hang these scumbags.

I called this number back and it is telling me that they are the Do Not Call Registry. These people are amazing at how fast they can change their persona.
