They called back tonight.  They've been calling but I haven't answered because it's "Private".  She was talking to someone else in the room when I said Hello.  She said my name and I said, "Nope", she hung up.  I tried calling back and the phone # was no longer in service.  How can this be??  Sounds suspicious.......but I'm confused about the # no longer in service.....I just don't see how that can be when she called from it literally 20 seconds before.  Very annoying.

He could not pronounce our last name, so I said, "No thank you" and hung up.  He called back and I let the machine pick it up.  The message he left on the machine was, "God what a [***].

These people are attempting to scam money for some charity.
They asked my wife for our address so they could send a recipt for donations...We never gave them money over the phone.
I am kind of worried that they will rip off the mail now that they have an address.

Somebody above got it right when they mentioned it is a law enforcement number.  It is a number to a bank of phones used in prison call rooms.  They use prison trustees to solicit funds for fallen officers, programs to keep kids off drugs, etc. Cheap volunteer labor, my friends, very cheap indeed.

Got a call this evening from this number.  We didn't answer it because we were busy at the time.  No phone message left.  Sure wish we knew who it was.

Called me also and hung up, so I called it back and got the samething not in service.

I receive a call from this number at least once a week. If I let it go to the answering machine, they hang up. I have tried answering and it doesn't seem as if any one is there. I've tried calling the number back and yes, I get the same "this number is no longer in service". Getting a little tired of it. I guess no one wants to pay the reverse service to find out.  I don't. Just seems a little strange.

8/7/08 6:25pm. Woman caller asked for a person that lives at this household. I said "he's not here right now can I take a message?". The caller hang up on me. I did a *69. The number came up as 503-591-5482. Looks like B.S.

Received a call this morning @ 0920 (and two days ago).  No one on the line when I answered.  My husband called the number back when they called two days ago and got "this number not in service" recording.  Very odd.  Will call our phone company during the weekday and see if they know anything.

Hung up when I answered.  Has called twice, hand-up, no messages.  "Not in service" on call-back.

caller hung up after my answering machine clicked on.  I am on Do not call list also.

Unidentified number . . . call came in at 8:30pm, I did not answer as I did not recognize number, the caller ID did list it as Beaverton, OR

I just thought of something-my husband was served court papers on oct 18 the call was at 8:30 at night on the 16th. If that was him he is trying to find that person.

I reverse lookuped the # http://www.whitepages.com/search/ReversePhone?full_phone=503-591-5482&localtime=survey. It brings up a map on that page. Switch the map format to hybrid and zoom in. You can see what street they are calling off of in beaverton-Hope this helps anyone-Number sounded familiar to me too. Had to investagate. Hopefully someone catches this person.Scared this could be some rip off too.

Received call from this number on 11/04/08 at 5:29 PST - I picked up but didn't say anything because someone on line was saying fu--in b--ch and rattling other crap - hispanic accent and obviously a bored loser on welfare and whatever else they can get their hands on from the government including unlisted phone numbers.

Called at approx. 8:45, missed call, they hung up on the machine. Scared, so I am sleeping with a gun.

503-591-5482 called at 7:30 this evening.  When I answered, no one was there?  I called back...."not in service".  Yeah, I have nothing else to do with my day than answer a dead phone line.  Thanks!
