I got two calls at home from the number yesterday and today. I am also on the no call list.

Caller ID indicated 'MAILBOX' (1st RED FLAG). I went ahead and answered the first call, and they said they were RDD (an independent firm collecting public opinion information and were taking a survey about banking (2nd RED FLAG).

Told him I wasn't interested, kept interrupting me, told him to remove my name, kept interrupting... HUNG UP.

If they keep calling I will report them.

Someone or some company has called my home phone number twice in one week at around 9:00 pm central standard time.  My caller id does not list anybody or the company.  My wife answered the phone once and no one on the other end said anything.  A prank call from long distance, especially from Portland, Oregon?!?  This seems kind of weird to me that a company can waste money on making "prank" long distance phone calls.  I checked the so called "company" website listed on this website and it appears that it is a fraudelant company.  I have a friend of mine that works in the FBI checking in on this, it appears that this company/phone number uses other phone numbers for long distance dialing.  After further research, this phone number is linked to a "Canadian" based company and is NOT located in Portland, Oregon.  Be advised and NOT answer when this number calls your residence, it is a scam to get you to answer and use your home phone number for long distance charges.  Don't believe it?  Call your local police department/research this topic online.

    hi my name is
the do not call list doesnt apply to them because they are not trying to sell the respondent anything, just looking to get their opinions..so by telling them that you are on the "do not call" list does nothing...just thought i would put that out there...and generally the person they ask for does have to be the one to tel them to not call...

Yup, the dirtbags' have got my number, too...ring...ring...ring...
Hello?.....Hello?...Hello? I wonder how it is that they claim to be research-related, but then when they have an actual live person on the line, they don't start with their questions?! How rude is that?! What is their purpose of calling us, if they don't really want to talk to us, and just keep us on the line, with their background noises, like it's some kind of a pervert getting his jollies out of calling people at home and bothering them with his silence? And when the hell are American businesses going to be forced to respect the home privacy of the citizen? I pay for the use of a phone so I can use it, not so others can use it to bother me to improve their business!
Hopefully an upside to the suckish economy will be an end to such lame-o research businesses like them and the unwarranted intrusion they foist upon innocent citizens by their rude invasion into our private peace and quiet!

Got this call on my cell at 6:51pm - no message left. If you read their site, they say they get your information because you have given your information on a website. This is quite possible. If I knew WHAT company passed my phone number to them, it would really help. I would stop doing business with them, and let them know exactly why.

Still - the do not call would not apply since it does not apply to organizations that already have a relationship with you (and if they are working for a company that you might have signed up for an email newsletter, or Amazon.com or some other e-tailer.... it might at least give them a bit of a defense in court).

What was that movie from the 70s, where they played some sound over the telephone and peoples heads blew up.... Scanners? Trancers?

I want one of those devices!

I've had 4 hang-up calls from this number in the last 24 hours.  I researched it and it is a telemarketing company located in Oregon: //www.rdd.info/home.html

I am calling my phone company to have this number screened from being able to call me further.

I left the comment immediately above.  I discovered you can file an FCC Form 1088D complaint with the FTC -- this complaint is aimed at telemarketers who constantly abandon calls, like is happening to us, and applies whether or not they are on the "Do Not Call" list.  It is easy to do and took me less than 5 minutes online: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?sid=d1e37&id=d1e91

You can call 231-224-2009 and have your ph. # removed.  I have used this several times as I get some "marketing" calls also.  They are tricky calling from different area codes, but every time I receive an unwanted call, I use the 231 #.  It works.

I got a call from this number a few minutes ago. I did not answer. I never do anymore if I don`t recognize the area code as a local one. I went to google and punched it in. Wow where do these people find the time to make all of these calls? I think there may be something to it. I just moved to a lesser expensive plan with Sprint I am thinking it`s some kind of a ploy by cell phone companies to bill more minutes. I am not a conspiracy theorist but I
imagine that kind of thing goes on. Coincidental I get this call after complaining to Sprint.
